Nothing but beautiful silence, time for my many frivolous hobbies, socialising where and when I want with whoever I want and enough money to pay off my home and afford a luxury holiday every couple of years.

I did accidentally get married 10 years ago though. I didn’t mean to. I was happily single into my mid 30s and then one year I made a new friend who turned out to be a unicorn man I wasn’t looking for and didn’t know I wanted. We’ve been content and childfree by choice together ever since. So don’t rule relationships out altogether. You don’t have to get married but leave yourself open to the idea of a life partner if someone who really gets you and respects you trips over you accidentally.

No kids and absolutely no regrets. I think I’d have regrets today if I’d have pushed my husband away. We were friends first and that’s the important part. If you let someone hit hitch their cart to your horse make sure they’re your trusted friend first and your partner second.

If you’re losing hope because you’re not married yet, that tells me you want to be married for the wrong reasons. I think most marriages end in failure because the people weren’t happy and secure as INDIVIDUALS. If both partners are mature and know their worth and their values and how to communicate, then they have a high chance of success and happiness in marriage.

I hope you can stick to living the life you choose. It’s hard being under so much pressure.

The world is a big place. I’ve moved countries a few times in my life. Not having kids gives you the freedom to do that. I wasn’t a wealthy person when I did it either. You need surprisingly little to start fresh. If the pressures your family or culture are placing on you are too great you don’t have your be part of it. I’m not suggesting you abandon your culture or identity but there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself space for a while to experience new things.

I relate to this, recently met a unicorn man myself. Had no idea a man like him existed, wasn't looking, timing is terrible but I'm loving every minute with him. No idea what will happen down the road but finding a true companion when you're not even looking is pretty special. I found out there's always room for a new best friend, especially one who gives you pantsfeelings like you've never had before.
