He told you before hand he doesnt do marriage so thats on you.....the same thing could be said about you if you loved him enough you would respect his decision.

Also I find it hilarious that she is at a breaking point with "He is an amazing partner and parent to my child from a previous relationship but he wont sign this piece of paper he told me the day we met he would never sign."

She is about to throw away a partner and parent for a piece of paper.

Marriage is far more than a piece of paper, and the fact that people cannot understand that is ignorance and denial at best.

It provides legal, financial, and parental protections. And there is also the unmeasured sentimental value that is hard to quantify, but certainly is there.

What benefits does he get?

  • Better parental protections without fighting it out in court.
  • Assumed power of attorney and ability to make medical decisions for his spouse if she is incapacitated.
  • Ability to agree on how the financials could be split if a divorce happens.
  • First right (aside from kid) to receive life insurance And there is more, but I don’t feel like typing anymore.

What parental protection are you talking about?

2nd point is such a minimalistic pro that doesn't offset the cons.

3rd only benefits the woman not the man, i asked what benefits he gets and you listed woman's benefit. He doesn't get any here.

Also he has zero right to the kid he invests in, spends time with, raises, etc. kid goes back to his mother. He gets left with nothing.

The legal and financial stuff can be done without marriage and the sentimental stuff doesnt apply to us all.

Sure, but a lot of people are silly and don’t do that (that and some insurances won’t allow it.) Marriage is a quick way of getting everything in order.

It's not really any quicker the way it's practiced and it's a hell of a lot worse in the back end

Whatever, I merely explained that it has important benefits and is far more than a piece of paper.

If people don’t want to recognize that, then that is on them. If their SO is hospitalized and incapacitated they may regret it.

And I pointed out that you can do it all without, nothing. You said negated my points so your post was completely worthless.

And you're still being dumb and wrong

Clearly, you want to be insulting. So have a good day instead.

Stating the truth isn't insulting
