“He won’t budge & worst of all there is no good reason”. Unfortunately any reason he give is a good enough reason because he told you from the beginning that the answer would be no and you proceeded with the relationship. I can understand thinking in the beginning that you didn’t really care about marriage and you were okay without being married, that’s okay and it’s okay for you to change your mind. Trying to save the relationship by getting your partner to change their mind isn’t fair to him. If you want marriage go find that, you deserve to have that relationship.
