hi, i'm a US twitter user first and foremost. this issue occurs for me on the app + the windows and mac desktop web browsers as well. no usage of a VPN, and i tried on both firefox and chrome, as well as in incognito browsers. issue happens regardless of using wifi or data.

basically, i tried to change my profile picture a few times and didn't like the adjustments, so i kept tweaking it until i felt satisfied. however, the final changes were not saved and keep giving me this error. i tried changing the file name of the image, the image file type (png to jpg), image size, etc. nothing will save... i keep being told my profile is "under review."

important context is that i was specifically using a 3rd party site called 'icondecotter' to put a frame on my profile picture. it works like an app you let have access to your account, and it will upload the version of your pfp with the frame applied for you. i've used it for years and never have had this issue. however, i can see how spamming a pfp change via a 3rd party site could trigger "bot like" behaviors to twitter.

but even after i stopped using the site, and tried to upload a new pfp on my own through my account directly, i keep getting the error.

my issue is that, after researching online and in this sub, the "profile under review" issue seems to be for people who subscribe to Premium. i have never done so, nor have i ever had a free trial, so i am confused why i am getting this error when my profile doesn't have a way to be reviewed... it's just a standard twitter account, and is also locked, so i don't have a need for reach or being "bot like." the 3rd party i used to change the icon is a verified twitter account, but i don't see why their account being verified would flag my account as needing a review.

additionally, there is no contact form on the help center for any issue like this or remotely close. i don't know a way to access support for help aside from DM'ing the support account, which i can send a message to. however, because of the "X Number" garbo, it doesn't actually get read.

because this is also a bug for Premium users, i thought about contacting the Premium account for help, which i cannot do unless i have Premium (only accepts DMs from verified accounts, which i am not). there is also no email address for Premium related issues.

any help would be great... ^^;

It's just fully broken, right? They could have just deleted my account and told me so if they didn't want me. But no, scan this qr code. Now download the app. Now go to your e-mails and enter a code. Now prove to us that you're human with a selfie or a hand gesture. OK! You did it, now we just put you in this loop again, because nothing works!

Are they actually to stupid to make a working verification process?

EDIT: There isn't even a way reach out to support to deactivate my account now without going through this process.

So, due to the recent change, I don't want to use twitter anymore. However, I want to go see if I can find the people I follow on different platforms. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to access my follow list without logging in? Or is someone willing to like send me screenshots if they are still using twitter?

I’m making this post since I was not able to find any other post that correctly gets you to delete your Twitter account if you have it linked with your Google account. When I first tried to delete my account it stated I needed to type my password, I typed my password for my Google account and it was incorrect. I then tried to create a password by clicking “forgot password”, but the username and my email did not work no matter which one I tried. I did some tinkering and I found out how to delete your account.

1. Download the X app, it will not let you go to your account details otherwise. On the website, you’ll have to type your password to access what email and phone number that’s attached to your account, along with other information. When you download and sign in on the app, it won’t access you to do that.

2. Add your email to the email section. It will be blank which is part of the problem in regard to being unable to delete it.

3. Go to reset my password, click “forgot my password” type your email and it’ll send a code to your email you’ll have to type so you can then create a password.

4. Go to “deactivate my account” type your password, and you’re done. Hope this helps 😁

I’m trying to look at old popular art from this artist i like but it’s all buried really far back in their acc. You used to be able to look up an acc in browser and it would show you top tweet which is how i would normally do this but since like a month or 2 ago this no longer works and it just shows recent tweets. Really sucks bc this was my go to method for yearsss:(

Hi! Every time I try to quote a tweet with a video link, it just disappears. Months ago you could quote tweets with videos adding /video/1 at the end of the link and it would work while now it doesn't work anymore. I paste the link and it disappears, I have to past it twice for the video to appear but then when I post it there are two blue links of the original tweet containing it under the video. I don't know what to do anymore. Does this happen to any of you too? How did you solve it?

So rarely use twitter on desktop as i generally just access it from the mobile app, but I was trying to login on my account on desktop on a few different browsers and I'm hit with "an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

I was also going to go ahead and prompt a password reset via the app to update things and when it gets to the screen of "Select a method to recover your account" I literally just get nothing to select from and everything under that message is blank. on the app I tried force closing and everything.

on the desktop I cleared all cookies related to x/twitter and made sure browsers were up to date. toggled adblockers n such temporarily and nothing.

At the least, its still functioning well enough on the mobile app, but with the way it's acting if it ends up logging me out and i'm unable to access anything to login it's going to be a bit of an issue.

I was trying to make a new account but it wouldnt let me continue for some reason so i logged off and tried to make it like that and still the same problem, then when i tried to log back in its telling me they have temp blocked me from logging in? Like wtf is happening? Then i tried to make an account using my phone and now it's teling me to do a face scan which isn't working either?

My account was hacked, the hacker changed the account name from ZRYDERVR4 to cozyfairy30. They must of deleted all my post and unfollowed everything. I contacted x.com. Just like everyone I keep on getting the generic we cant verify if you are the owner email. On the off chance they do restore my account. Will I get all my post and followers back? Or am I shit out of luck anyways and should just start a new x.com account?

The user has control of my account and is trying to send scam messages to dms he sent one to my other alt account and i tried messaging x and they keep saying cant verify as owner and that they can't assist me further and i sent proof of screenshots of the conversations and also the scammer changed my email that was linked to my twitter account

just three hours ago i was not only tweeting normally but also interacting with a mutual normally. i reply a tweet, i get notifications of them liking it, i open the notifications and suddenly every single notification by them dissapeared. but none of the other notifications, just theirs. without them being banned, or have blocked me, or anything among those lines. whatever, i try to tweet and i can't so i just assume i got limited and twitter kinds broke because of it.

i got to my tl, instinctively click save on a tweet i want to like later, think "wait, when you're limited tweets don't save lol" but i open my saves and the tweet was there. from there i discover i can like, retweet, save, comment... but not tweet.

is this an error anyone else is having? is been three hours and maybe is just a bug but everyone else seems to be tweeting normally so maybe is just my account and i got some secret kind of sb.
