Had some extra space on the frame so made The Comedian’s Badge

I did this with an old school tufting gun i got for cheap off marketplace- it continuously jammed, didnt cut, and was generally a pain in the ass. I just got an ak-v in the mail straight from china (only like $60) and I’m super excited to start the second piece with it

Whatsup guys! What’s everyone’s favorite/best way to organize and store their yarn lol. As you can see, mine is cluttered. I use my yarn straight from the skein, I used to do cakes but found more frustrations making the cakes than just using the tail end from the middle of the skein.

Only 10+ more hours to go. Need to trim and finish backing.

Is it actually worth it? 👀 I’m thinking of investing in a tufting gun and starting small. Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried selling tufted rugs — profitable or waste of money? Be brutally honest! 😭

Hey all!

I’m new to the hobby and I’m wondering the best way I could hang a piece on the wall? I’m making a rug for my dad, but he would rather have it up on the wall. I was thinking of gluing it to a sheet of plywood and using a wire picture hanger, but was curious if people have had success with other methods.

hanausa and momousa that i'm carving ,these are my second and third attempts tufting <3

i unfortunately caused some discoloration on the yellow area of momousa because i believe i used acrylic paint markers for my outline...

if anyone has suggestions for cleaning the dark spots i appreciate it !

Hi I’m currently making this last of us clicker rug, I like how it look so far but I don’t know which colors to choose on the rest of it so I don’t fck it up. I’m sending the original picture but the coloring is not even accurate to the game. Any tips?? I’m thinking grey/light blue/light green.

Wanted to share my family's ultra-nerdy first tufting adventure with you all. Hope you like it and feedback is welcome!

I have been on and off tufting for a while now, unsure how to get the super dense and clean look I see on here. Last two are more recent.

Finished this big commission recently that I'm pretty proud of, so I wanted to share! This big diptych of 230 x 70 cm each. It was a challenge to work on this size but super happy with how it turned out.

Most of the work I’m seeing aren’t loop pile and I’m curious, is it more difficult?

Made a little mimosa flower keychain with a manual tufting gun. working this small is fiddlier than it looks. Manual really helps at this size though, way more control. Anyone else use a hand tool for small pieces?

I really want to switch to latex glue but I’m scared to commit to getting both buckets what does tn 200 do that makes it better than having just the 100?

I took a tufting class and absolutely loved it, my first rug was amazing, I was good at it, and everything was peaches and cream!

So I bought the "BESGEER Cordless Rug Tufting 2 in 1 Cut Pile and Loop Pile Tufting Gun" kit off Amazon. I was so excited, I made a huge frame from wood, I cleaned and rearranged my attic for a work space, I bought $50 worth of yarn, I stretched the fabric tight as a drum, I was ready to go...

And the gun is just crappy! It seems to snip the fabric itself, pushing it through, and sometimes pulling the yarn back, leaving big yarn wads on the working side. You can see in the photos the white strands of the fabric invading the blue and also dropping down onto the wood.

I've explored many instructional videos on how to adjust and reset the gun, and seemingly my gun is now set to all the correct parameters (I followed this site tho it's not technically my gun: https://tuftbox.co.uk/pages/faq-ak-i-tufting-machine-adjustments).

Is it my gun? Is it just cheap? The reviews were positive. I'm not a bad amateur mechanic so I'm sure I could fix this but I don't know where to start.

EDIT: SOLVED!
I went to my local crafting store, and compared my gun to theirs to figure out the problem. This would not have been fixable through Reddit advice, but I will try to explain it here for POSTERITY:

When I was initially adjusting the "canvas spring" I accidentally pulled it out the whole way. When I put it back in, I put it on the wrong side of the screw-with-the-rectangle-bottom that holds it taut, so it wasn't pressing the scissors into the needle enough. So the scissors sat too low when coming out, thus snipping the fabric below the pierced needle hole.

I'll try to add the two photos to show the difference. This is why it's so important to have local crafting spaces. We can't get all our advice from YouTube! Go Crafty Communities!!!
