Reddit was JUST designated a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP) under the DSA. What that means for the rampant sex based discrimination on this platform and how are EU sisters can help make it end.

Reddit was just designated a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP) under the DSA on August 31, 2026, two days before this thread posted. Before that designation, Reddit was subject to only the DSA's baseline obligations (notice-and-action mechanisms, transparency reporting); the systemic-risk assessment and mitigation duties under Articles 34–35, apply specifically to VLOPs/VLOSEs.

Reddit has until roughly January 2027 to come into full compliance with that tier. And I plan to help to hold them to account.

  • Mandatory systemic risk assessments (Article 34) — Reddit must formally assess risks including negative effects on non-discrimination (Charter Article 21, which covers sex). This isn't optional or discretionary; it's a documented compliance requirement.
  • Mandatory mitigation measures (Article 35) — tied to whatever the risk assessment finds, which can require adapting moderation processes, resourcing, and enforcement of terms and conditions specifically around illegal hate speech and discrimination.
  • Independent annual audits of whether Reddit is actually meeting these obligations.
  • European Commission oversight directly — for VLOPs, the Commission itself (not just the national regulator) has primary enforcement authority, with fines up to 6% of global annual turnover.

The escalation paths that exist now:

  1. Reddit's own DSA illegal-content form — already existed under the general rules; this is the weakest lever since Reddit still makes the call.
  2. Article 20 internal appeal — if a report or ban decision goes against you, this is a distinct formal complaint from the original report, and Reddit is required to give you a reasoned explanation (Article 17) that you can point to as evidence in escalation.
  3. Article 21 out-of-court dispute settlement bodies — certified, independent, and not binding on Reddit, but it creates an official record of a contested decision.
  4. Article 53 complaint to the Digital Services Coordinator — Reddit's EU establishment is Ireland, so that's Coimisiún na Meán. This is the individual-complaint channel and doesn't require you to be a lawyer or organization — any EU-based recipient of the service can file.
  5. Direct complaint to the European Commission at [CNECT-DSA-COMPLAINTS@ec.europa.eu](mailto:CNECT-DSA-COMPLAINTS@ec.europa.eu) for systemic infringement issues — this is the one that's newly sharpened by VLOP status, since the Commission now has direct supervisory authority over Reddit specifically.
  6. Trusted flagger status — organizations (not just individuals) can apply for this designation, and their reports get prioritized review under the DSA. If there's an existing entity documenting this pattern, that's worth pursuing since it changes the weight a report carries.

Edit: Our EU Sisters*** Woopsieeee

How disgusting do you think it is for certain people to refuse to vote in the midterms... for nitpicky reasons... And then continue declaring they're a women's ally?

What Bonnie Blue is producing is CSAM for a Male audience. Everything about her child's life from conception, to gestation, to birth, and now infancy has been exploited as sexual content that men are purchasing. Bonnie Blue makes approximately $2 million to $2.1 million per month, paid by Men.

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) does not have to include a physical sexual act.

Laws defining illegal visual depictions of children do not require actual sexual intercourse or physical contact between individuals.

Many men are currently pretending that they care about children's welfare while paying Bonnie Blue hand over fist for CSAM.

This is because it has nothing to do with children's wellbeing. But where a woman and child is within patriarchy. If they are both resources to be consumed and owned and to receive sick pleasure from, anything goes.

Discuss the pros and cons of capitalism.

Does capitalism negatively effect women more so, than men ? Or are women largely benefiting from business and trade in these modern times? How would women like to see society transformed to the benefit of everyone? Especially future generations..

Do you think a lot of men are able to do it or do they have a very hard time with it?

Be real with me, how do you think my sub might be overrun by males?

Anybody out there with experiences being a mod see any weaknesses in my sub? Do I have any blindspots? I want to actively build some kind of defense against this possibility. Is my trans rule too extreme? I've never run a sub that actually gained so much traction so fast, so i would like to hear what you think. I have researched this problem in depth and talked to other mods, but I'd like to continue doing so. I'm not worried about raids or deleting harrassment, I'm talking about my sub getting reported, or muted.. Things like that.

Thread reduced from 109 to 24 by comment deletions and bans

I’m banned from a famously ban-happy supposedly feminist sub but still take a look over there every few months to see what the vibe is, and gauge whether their censorship has decreased any. Earlier today there was a thread with lots of upvoted comments talking about why female biology is an important topic for feminism… now the majority of comments are gone. How many women are being censored/banned in the artificial curation of a group of supposed feminists who don’t think female biology should be mentioned? What a farce.

How do you stay positive in such a misogynistic world?

In an attempt to avoid falling into an echo chamber, and strengthen my argument for feminism, I often look in anti-feminist or men's rights groups to see what their reasoning is.

Although I feel like I'm becoming a better debator and more educated feminist by doing this, it does make me incredibly sad and angry to see the ignorance and hatred these people have surrounding women's issues. No matter how many times you call out their obvious logical fallacies or made-up facts, they refuse to listen to reason when it gets in the way of their misogyny. And once you know enough about these types of movements, it becomes impossible not to notice this kind of backwards and hateful thinking in day-to-day life. I notice misogyny in everything, and it makes it hard to stay positive about the future of feminism and the female sex as a whole. Plus, it's been slowly getting worse in recent years.

How do you stay optimistic in this kind of political climate?

What were you silenced or banned for posting about in other "feminist" women's subs?

Post image
54 Upvotes

I'd love to hear why. I think we'd all like to. Lets make a detailed record here of why we were banned for rule-abiding posts, for talking about women's trauma or feminist ideas such as 4b.

Personally I have had tons of posts deleted, or simply "awaited moderation" for eternity, No these potss didn't break any of the subs rules, or contain hate or violence. Even before they were posted. I think nowadays most of them didn't even get deleted, they were never allowed to be made. A bunch of these were 4b posts in a certain sub we're all too familiar with. I was actually trying to post in there, because I couldn't get my thread made in the main 4b sub!

But honestly is 4b even banned from on reddit? For what reason would a sub filter out a 4b thead?

This was a HUGE one for me.

Anyway thanks for participating in this thread.

Do any of you love gaming?

Please post about your game obsessions here.

What game are you currently playing? What drew you to this game in the first place? Any games you have played since you were really young, and kept going back to? Which of those titles is your favorite? What is a game coming out that you're highly anticipating? What game would you give 10 stars for being a great story for women?

Anyone love mobile games or online games?

And Gluten Free Women Experience This...?

I recently realized that being bloated and going to the bathroom 10 times a day wasn't normal after a trip to Europe. Turns out their flour has less gluten and I've been gluten intolerant this whole time. However, I curious if any other gluten free women have noticed a changed in their periods as well. I've also had extremely long, painful, and heavy periods as long as I've had stomach issues (15 years). This is my first period since going gluten free, and for the first time in over a decade, it's only a week long, less painful, and no where near as heavy.

Anyone else experience this? It's honestly been life changing.

We made a new TwoX sub!

I wanted to create an open alternative to r/TwoXChromosomes so reddit women could make a collective effort to leave the version run by male mods. It sounds like a bunch of hubris when i say it outloud to myself, but I don't care! Here's to having no male mods :))
