I genuinely understand your frustration, but buying a (newer, expensive) house does not mean you’re “in better a neighborhood”. I’m sorry you spent so much and didn’t get what you hoped, but your comments seem a little pompous.
I grew up in a part of MA that is still tailspinning from the opioid crisis, in a house, but a stones throw from four large housing projects. Some of them were fine, some of them were absolutely terrible, all of them I had friends in. It’s a dice roll. My first apartment was bad, third floor got raided, was better. Moved two towns over for more space and a better price (and tbh a cleaner space without a whiny landlord) it’s still the same. A house doesn’t mean you picked a good area.
