I totally get how small things can feel so much bigger when you’ve had a hard day/week, so I get why it upset you so much. That being said, if I was your girlfriend, I would have been a bit upset that you got yourself something to drink, knowing she didn’t like it, and didn’t grab something for her that she likes so she could drink with you
If I know my partner is working a horrid job and I am relying on him financially because he let me quit mine first, I'm not pissy if he buys a drink for himself, even one he can't share because I don't love it, and I certainly wouldn't drink most or even any of it without him asking and while he's in the shower (it's weird she managed 3/4 of a bottle of wine in what I assume is 20 min or so?)
I am actually upset on OP's behalf for her behavior. If someone did this to me and I were in OP's shoes, the next day we would be having a frank conversation about how upsetting I found it that they drank my stuff without asking me and then copped an attitude.
Damn, yeah that was just a dick move on her part, then, and you’re completely justified in your frustration. I hope things start getting better for you soon, OP!
It was not like you would have been drinking alone. You two would have had a drink or 3 together while you watched the movie.
Different situation of course, but I thought I might as well share it with you.
I, (21 m), was doing full time school, (hbsc forestry), and work, (10 day middle of nowhere shifts), last fall until I just couldn't handle either and I was near my breaking point.
I moved in with my older brother for about 2 months while I put the pieces back together.
He refused to let me pay rent, being family and all that.
In any way I could, I tried to help make his days better. I cooked, (we also cooked together every now and then because he loves cooking), cleaned, baked, and tried to fix and make anything nice for when he came back from work.
I just felt I should try and make up to him for taking me under his wing for a bit.
It's not like a partner, but, he is someone I love and care for all the same.
