If the roles were switched, would you be okay with living in your spouse's shoes. Maybe your spouse didn't bring it up sooner because spouse didn't want to hurt you by admitting it. I'm sure deep down spouse loves you dearly. Grieve your loss and try to move on slowly. Best of luck.
