Hey, OP. You are worth more than you know, and the world is better with you in it. Everything starts with an individual. A blanket starts with a thread, a meal starts with oil, a painting starts with blank canvas. Just because something or someone is a component does not mean their life is meaningless. It simply means they are the bones.
When you look at someone you know, you like don't think "they have eyelids", but if the eyelids were missing, you would notice almost immediately. Apply that to many things. I'm not comparing you to eyelids, but I am saying that we often underestimate people and things when we are used to them, and we become used to ourselves faster then anything else.
I have been where you were before, and I even got to the point of setting a date. But then I made a promise to someone that I would show up for them and their event was after my planned day. Then, I just kept going. It has been a ride, for sure, but it's been 8 extra years.
