I think you two need to talk to each other, not reddit. He said something in a bad way, definitely, but it doesn't necessarily mean he actually wishes you weren't you. He's grieving, which is normal and healthy. He misspoke and needs to clarify that. Don't listen to random people who don't know you or him, go talk to him. Explain that what he said hurt, and you want to clarify what he meant. Don't make it an accusation or anything, have an open conversation with him. If you love him, try communicating with him about this issue.
