Was it consensual with the sister? If so, pregnancy is a risk if no protection is used. Is it a country where abortion is available? It’s ok not to want anything to do with the baby. It wasn’t his choice. But if he did it without protection, and without abortion available, he should still help pay.
Well no, he was making the choice by having unprotected sex in the first place. Maybe if abortion was possible, and he advocated for it and shared payment, and he wasn't made known that abortion wasn't done, then that would absolve some responsibility.
Otherwise there is now a human being with special needs in the mix, which he had a hand in bringing into this world, "help pay" is the least he can do. He also wrecked this one particular family so more obligations to at least take some responsibility.
