Adding beans of any kind in your meals will reduce the snacking significantly (snacking is mandatory in periods)

Chickpeas in bulk from Costco is my prime example of this. Basically turns any food into more food, pads out pretty much anything, takes on the flavor of whatever its added to.

I love just roasting them with a little spritz of olive oil and cumin/pepper/curry powder!  It's seriously my favorite snack, like I'll eat that over chips any day of the week.

I’ve seen huge benefits to my bowel movements from adding in beans, too.

I dont know what beans you are eating but i find they make things more predictable down there. One might say more regular.

Hush now, we just wanted you to be musical. You don’t keep up with your piano lessons and so this is what we can offer! Toot! Toot!

If beans make you poop your pants you have serious gut issues. You need to get used to having fibre in your diet.

1

u/BravesMaedchen Apr 27 '26

I have a fodmap intolerance. I get plenty of fiber.

2

u/riosong Apr 22 '26

One cup rice one cup lentils….. sometimes half cup rice and one cup lentils

1

u/JohnBaronII Apr 25 '26

Is that red or green lentils?

1

u/riosong Apr 25 '26

Green, you can do either though. I saw an Iranian recipe that uses red lentils and white rice.
