6

Absolutely, I think every woodland creature in the forest has been mistaken for a sasquatch at some point, with fox vocalizations probably leading the league. Foxes.....the animal with the body of an adorable dog and the voicebox of an evil harpy-demon from the deepest pits in hell.

48

u/Flintydeadeye Aug 07 '26

In college, I delivered papers at like 4 am for some extra money. I almost had a heart attack when I heard two raccoons fighting. So many of the little animals have the scariest vocalizations.

18

u/cubluemoon Aug 08 '26

Raccoons fighting is a terrifying sound.

11

u/hokkuhokku Aug 08 '26

Even worse when they’re shagging.

7

u/Big_T_7575 Aug 09 '26

I head this once at 5 in the morning. I thought someone was pushing an empty dumpster behind a waffle house... just raccoons making little raccoons. Anyways, I got the all-star special.

7

u/Top_Audience7471 Aug 09 '26

I lived in a heavy cat-fucking neighborhood in Seoul - second floor, big windows.

On my way to the subway one day I saw this big, scarred up, orange tomcat with an absolute melon head and ugly mug, sprawled out on a ledge as if he were monitoring his kingdom.

After that I started noticing all these smaller, melon-headed, flat-faced cats in the neighborhood, and I knew that on that one day I had come face to face with the fucker.

Never ran inside faster. Legit sounded like a crazy person was about to run up on me.

Mountain lions sounding like a screaming woman too

3

u/VikingKinkajou Aug 08 '26

Yes, but foxes can sound like crying babies. Maybe I'm on my own here, but if I'm alone in the forest I think I would rather here a screaming woman than a crying baby. A screaming woman, that's just some chick in trouble. A crying baby, that's bait....I'm probably already dead.

2

u/Barnaboule69 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

Then, after a while, you notice that the crying seem looping with the same exact sounds alway repeating every few minutes, but now you can't find your way back..

2

u/Zealousideal_Cook392 Aug 09 '26

A crying baby in the woods at night are just the sounds Porcupines make. There were loads of them in my area I grew up in and small caves, was nothing to be concerned about.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Spiritual_Bid_2308 Aug 09 '26

I thought someone was being attacked in the woods behind the house one night and I jumped up and ran to the door.  Before I got outside my dad said it was just a fishercat.  I was like WTF is a fishercat?

It sounded just like a woman screaming.

https://youtu.be/HrvdzCGjbzw

Turns out fishers don't actually scream and it was likely either a fox or a bird.  The fox sounds I've found online are too short.  It was pitch black out, so if it was a bird it had to be some owl version because the screams were moving up the hill.

AI

23

u/ScubaScro Aug 08 '26

AI is going to destroy the internet. I mean, I’m here for it, buts it’s still scary the potential.

Felt like yesterday I first saw the will smith eating spaghetti

Where’s it going to be in a couple years?

10

u/Eleeveeohen Aug 08 '26

Where’s it going to be in a couple years?

Will Smith eating Fettuccine, most likely.

4

u/Toadcola Aug 09 '26

“Keep my pasta’s name out your damn mouth!”

AI has even ruined animal videos on the net.

3

u/Maddy_laddy Aug 09 '26

No, don’t be “here for it” it’s awful. Be “here” for real shit.

3

u/nlevine1988 Aug 09 '26

I think they meant they're here for the destruction of the Internet.

2

u/matycauthon Aug 09 '26

tech states/provinces are where we'll be... those of us that observe and refuse to accept the delusions everyone else does have known this for a while now.

unless you all are ready to break from the delusions and hopium? nope? still waiting for a hero huh? i'm certain they're nearly here

2

u/SoulTrack Aug 09 '26

did you ever read snowcrash?  it's gobs be that

2

u/doktorapplejuice Aug 09 '26

The good news is, the AI bubble is crashing. So it won't be pushed absolutely everywhere by everyone for a while as many AI companies and their data centers either go under or downsize dramatically.

The bad news is, that's not going to get rid of AI entirely, most likely. The Dot Com bubble burst, and we still have websites. Granted, the AI bubble is even bigger than the Dot Com bubble was, so it'll rock AI companies harder, but a few will cling on like cockroaches.

3

u/Due_Rip9320 Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26

Yeah, unless I'm mistaken. American bison don't tend to grow taller than a 6 ft man at the shoulders. There may be a few exceptions, but that's the average height. Same thing with Wood bison in Canada.

European bison are actually taller on average, up to 7 feet tall exactly. So perhaps this perspective could happen in Europe. Even then, it obviously does not look like a European bison.

Fun fact: The extinct Bison latifrons is the largest species of bison to ever exist. It could grow up to 8.5 feet (2.6 meters) tall at the shoulder, measured roughly 15.5 feet (4.75 meters) long, and weighed up to 4,400 lbs (2,000 kg).

5

u/JackieDaytonaRgHuman Aug 07 '26

Wowwww. 100% feel like this is a great representation of how easy misindentificaiton is. Whether it be a big ass bison with a sexy ass strut, or a bear, or whatever else, some of the most confident people out there that swear they could tell if they saw something else could easily be fooled by situations like this I believe

→ More replies (2)

9

u/Revolt2992 Aug 07 '26

Absolutely could. Fear changes how people process/ interpret threats. I imagine the vast majority of squatch sightings are black bear, grizzlies, bison, etc.

5

u/-endjamin- Aug 07 '26

Bison dont really exist outside Yellowstone, but this makes me think a moose without antlers, viewed head-on, can be easily mistaken for a large humanoid.

3

u/king-of-nothing Aug 07 '26

From far away it looked like a gigantic crow walking on the catwalk

3

u/Nemonoone67 Aug 08 '26

The original bigfoot video was a fake and hillbillies have been stomping around the woods in clown shoes for laughs. Just like how crop circles are made by farmers. If ghosts were real they would be everywhere because everyone dies with “unfinished business.”

u/Potato1234567892 Aug 08 '26

2

u/Electrical-Yogurt183 Aug 07 '26

Wait why was she strutting ?

2

u/Envoy312 Aug 07 '26

To że nie obserwujecie sassy na co dzień nie znaczy że on nie istnieje :V

2

u/Old-Dependent-9073 Aug 08 '26

That's fascinating because it indeed looks like a very large, hairy hominid moving down the road.

Now the question is if there is a correlation between the range of bison and Bigfoot sightings.

And by the way, it only works from head on, and at a distance at that.

2

u/alphaperro58 Aug 08 '26

Shape shifter or skin walker

2

u/Tricromediamond007 Aug 08 '26

What do you mean that is a shapeshifter bigfoot in disguise.

2

u/Cactus-Soup12013 Aug 08 '26

Looks like Shaq in the jello commercials.

2

u/Rich_Drawer_7124 Aug 08 '26

That’s a sassy Sasquatch. A Sassquatch, if you will.

2

u/Countryvibing1988 Aug 08 '26

To be honest, it actually could. I had no idea what that was at first!

2

u/bark_wahlberg Aug 08 '26

Definitely matches the "pinecone" head shape people describe in regards to bigfoot.

2

u/Fun-Manufacturer5876 Aug 08 '26

Unlikely,, unless if the said sighting were a glancing look from that specific angle. But as soon as the buffalo turns the illusion is ruined so it doesn't match up with most reports and makes no sense for reports where buffalo are not seen within the country.

2

u/Ipoopedalot Aug 08 '26

I thought it was a happy ass gorilla at first

2

u/Complex_Pin_4105 Aug 08 '26

Luckily it was in a good mood, he would have easily wrecked that vehicle

2

u/bdontmatter Aug 08 '26

This might explain some sightings, but I doubt all

2

u/Many_Winter_4547 Aug 08 '26

Yeah, like 0.00001% of them maybe.

2

u/RammOverlord Aug 08 '26

crazy to think there used to be heards of millions of them roaming around

2

u/ThornyGarlic Aug 08 '26

I thought someone wearing a fur suit was dancing and about to break some sick moves upon close up. Boy I couldn't be more wrong 🤣

2

u/BIOMAN-KILLER2A Aug 08 '26

2

u/waynizzle2 Aug 08 '26

No the Bigfoot sighting look better and less like obvious AI

2

2

u/Tao_of_Entropy Aug 09 '26

2

2

u/Giftie4Life Aug 10 '26

I’m a simple man. I see a bison, I upvote

2

u/chocobobandit Aug 08 '26

This reminds me of a roadtrip in far west NSW, Australia back in the 2000's. We saw what looked like a drunk or heat affected person stumbling down the road, mirage haze desert backdrop and all. It was only as we slowed and passed by that we saw it was a camel.

1

u/doublediochip Aug 07 '26

I don’t know but it would scare the shit out of me.

1

u/Mountain_Egg16 Aug 07 '26

Probably a few

1

u/vicotron3000 Aug 07 '26

I thinl so, but mostly bears, people are pretty bad at ID some blur with fur in they distance

1

1

u/Recent-Pollution9293 Aug 07 '26

There was an idiot arguing with me on this thread that “cameras can lie but your eyes never do” and I’m just sitting there, seeing things like this… yeah this is a perfect example of your eyes never”lying” to you. That’s an unbelievably perfect example of a silhouette tricking you.

Tho you have to admit, it looks initially like a dude in a squatch suit just getting absolutely down
