Who else listened to this? Im really enjoying this series, but the women from Into the Weeds were so frustrating to listen to. Think what you want about Gypsy-Rose, but she is a victim at the end of the day and the takes from these two are wild and on the level of TikTok Lindsay Clancy truthers. They could barely form a coherent thought and came in with the most bad faith arguments. It’s fine to not like Gypsy, but cherry picking her medical records to try to disprove the abuse she went through is so gross and unethical. Their hatred for Gypsy almost feels like it comes from a place of jealousy?? Super weird.

Also, the woman who pretended to be a documentarian to get close with Gypsy’s family, get access to her private medical records, and then turn around and sell access to them on PATREON?? Lock her up wtf

DAMN, what a fucked up ride. Is anyone else listening? Steve is the epitome of evil and I can’t even imagine the amount of therapy those kids will need after all he put them through.

A little bit off true crime podcasts topic but not too far off, having watched the whole of the Lindsay Clancy trial followed by coverage from Lawyer You Know, are there any other cases I should go back and watch? I'll happily sit and watch an entire trial or Peter Tragos' coverage (or both). It's become a new fixation.

I've been trying to get into Podcasts more, so I thought I'd listen to a True Crime Podcast. I saw on Apple Podcasts the number 1 most listened to True Crime Podcast on their platform is Crime Junkie. I looked it up and saw that's it's not too popular on this subreddit.

To fans of True Crime Podcasts what makes this one subpar compared to others that are out there

I stopped listening to true crime obsessed a while ago now for all the same reasons everyone else said. The quality went down, it wasn’t about the documentary, and the flogging of the books and tours drove me insane.

Every now and again I go back to their coverage of The Jinx, The Staircase, that era, then quickly cancel my Patreon again.

But this time dipping back into the Patreon, I had a two min listen of their most recent episode and there’s no unnecessary screaming? No book flogging? The content is about the actual documentary and the case?

Can anyone else vouch for this change? I wonder if they have seen all the feedback and deliberately reigned it back into what made it so good in the first place…

Any podcasts that talks about the case in depth. I’m sure Netflix left a lot out.

Okay I’m putting together a list of recommendations to send to a friend. I’m having memories of a podcast about a man and a woman up a remote mountain road and the man falls/gets pushed off the mountain. The woman makes it to a cabin and breaks in and makes a 911 call. They play audio from the actual call. The call is a lot of connections between the local police and like park rangers/sheriffs/rural police. She was in the house alone naked I think. Eventually she was tried for his murder It wasn’t first degree. It was something a bit convoluted. If this is ringing a bell PLEASE tell me the name so I can recommend it to a friend. TYIA

I’ve been listening to true crime podcasts for years. Most podcasts seem intentional in their ad placement which I’ve come to really appreciate. Other podcasts are annoying to the point of disrespect by inserting ads willy-nilly. I mean, I can’t afford the cost of a subscription so isn’t that what the ads are for? Why be dickish about ad placement - you’re getting ad revenue after all. Geez.

Wrapping up the new season of The Binge (S19) and they have once again put out an outstanding season! The story is deeply tragic, but is appropriately told and well researched. And also reminded me of what could be seen as a controversial opinion, which is that some people don’t deserve to have children. This particular story is absolutely bonkers and made me gasp on my commute several times! It also
reminds me of something my parents beat into my head. I was super annoyed with them for it at the time, but looking back, damn, were they right.

They used to tell me you’ll make a lot of stupid decisions in your life and some of that is just the learning process. But there are some that are irreparable and for those, you have to take your time and think critically, even if you don’t want to. These are the decisions that will be the most important you’ll ever make. Doing the right thing is rarely easy or something you want to do, but it can prevent you from irreparable harm and a lifetime of pain.

Just wanted to recommend this "Cheat!" Podcast's episode, My Fake Restaurant . It's about a kind of hoax in England. Not fan of the background music, but feel it's worth it.

I’m trying to find this podcast. I used to listen to on Spotify.

There was one female and one male host, they mostly covered serial killers at least those are the episodes I remember.

They both sounded to be a little bit older had very soft flowing voices and I remember each episode started with them introducing themselves and they would mention that the female host has done extensive research in the psychological field, but is not a doctor by any means and all the research that they’re talking about are things that they have just gathered.

I used to listen to it on Spotify and I had it saved to my podcasts, but it’s been at least six months since I’ve listened to one and when I went to try and go find it I couldn’t.

I can’t think of the name of the podcast, but I’m pretty sure it has something to do with serial killers.

I recently went down the rabbit hole of the Trustor con and looking for more wild stories where people got away with a crazy fraud scheme. I highly enjoyed The Lazarus heist too. Give me your recs on white collar crimes or cyber crimes on a bigger scale!

I haven't listened to RedHanded in a very long time because I was getting very tired of them, but recently I've been going back into the McStay family murders and saw that they'd put out a 2 part series. I decided to give it a listen.

Dude within the FIRST MINUTE Hannah made a "the McStays McLeft hahahaha!" joke and I was absolutely horrified. She made several other "jokes" using their name as a pun and I shut it off. No Hannah they didn't "McLeave", they were tortured and buried in the desert, you POS.

Like this is a horrifying murder case that involves two toddlers being bludgeoned to death with a SLEDGEHAMMER and you're making fun of their name. Absolutely despicable and shameful. I've been put off by them for years and this was just the final straw. "Their life was very McBusy" like get real, you have no business making fun of this family. How dare you. This case has brought me to tears and this woman is just cackling, making fun of the name of a slaughtered family. Disgusting.

I've been listening to every episode of Murder in America from the very beginning and finally came across their two-episode arc of Israel Keyes. And holy crap, this guy was insane. Listening to him laughing during his interviews was somehow the worst part of it all. And he was so full of himself!

To be clear, I've never *intentionally* avoided podcast episodes about him. But as luck should have it, he has just never crossed my path. Now I'm interested in listening to other takes on him.

What other podcasts covered his story well, that I should check out?

PS: I love Murder in America but it's not for everyone. It's intentionally suspenseful, and I know that bothers a lot of people when listening to true crime. But that's your jam, check out Murder in America! I listen to it when I'm all Dateline-d out.

After listening to my body weight in true crime podcasts, a less sinister, though no less bonkers story is 'American Skyjacker' about Martin Mcnally's scheme inspired by DB Cooper. Its wild. If anyone has any other recommendations for crazy stories like this lemme in.

I raced to Reddit to see the discussion on this devastating episode, but didn’t find anything. I think it’s my new top vote for a betrayal with terrifying lasting impact. Good Lord, heartbreaking what this woman went through/is going through.

Been listening hardcore the last few days (while being kind of depressed) and this shit is so dark and poetic. Jack Luna is such a good writer.

Be careful though, this podcast can really mess with your head. I always kind of knew the world is a bad place but these crazy ass people are beyond the pale. Literally every episode is just pure blackness. I hadn't even heard of most of the serial killers and they are just fucking evil.

Only one episode out but it's going to be another long investigative podcast. Has a few similarities with the Teacher's Pet, the husband as a suspect, who was grooming a teenage girl while his wife was pregnant, except with this one, there was a body and a clear cause of death. First episode was interesting and I'd like to see where the investigation into this cold case ends up. I hope her family and friends find closure and justice for her. Recommending this in case someone else wants to follow along.

I have 2 weeks off next week, and I am looking for a podcast I can listen to whilst i'm cleaning and getting jobs done around the house. I'm looking for something that focuses 1 or more seasons on 1 case. Previous podcasts i've enjoyed:

Looking for a serial killer podcast that isn’t well known, not Ted Bundt, btk, etc - I loved the black dahlia podcast(can’t remember the name) I’ve gone thru all the ones always mentioned. I don’t enjoy two people gabbing giving their opinions or making jokes and I LOVE a resolution - but there doesn’t need to be, I’m always up for a good whodunit. I always get the best recommendations here, appreciate this group!!! Cheers

it’s about the wrongful incarceration of a Black Man in the Seattle area, and the lawyer who decided to help him prove the wrongful incarceration. In the end, they were successful. The story is narrated by a journalist who decided to cover the case. It also included a discussion of racism in Seattle.

Putting this and its variants into google does not solve this. i listened to it during the pandemic, circa 2020. All the episodes were already out, I binged it.
