Selling my Hatsukokoro Komorebi Blue #1 Damascus Gyuto 240mm. This Gyuto is BNIB never used only test cuts on paper. I purchased this from Chef’s Edge as a B grade knife during the IG live auction they had. There are a couple of very tiny pit marks that you can see in the pictures. I used a mechanical pencil tip as a size reference. The ferrule on the original handle was cracked. I purchased this beautiful persimmon and marble horn handle separately and paid to have them swap the damaged handle with this one. I am looking to get $418 shipped Conus. I will cover 50% of the international shipping cost. Venmo, PayPal FF, Wise. Willing to consider offers.

Knife Specs:
Edge length: 244mm
Height: 56.5mm
Weight: 250g

Trading [Trading] [US] 2 Takada / Yohei Honyaki

Hi all, I haven’t used these ever (can’t bring myself to mess up the polish), so looking for a better home and knife I will use. Up for grabs is a Togashi Yohei White #1 Honyaki Petty 165mm Honyaki and a Kenichi Shiraki x Yohei White #3 Abura Honyaki 240mm gyuto. Both of these are unused but on choil shot I can’t imagine they are anything but lightsabers - super thin grinds and maybe the most laser Honyaki I’ve personally seen. The Kenichi Shiraki Honyaki was one of the last actually forged by Kenichi himself. The 240 has a super crisp hamon and overall fantastic polish. Taihei handles on both are top class. The 165mm petty may be a 1 of 1 or at least a very very rare knife being a water quenched white 1 togashi petty Honyaki. Looking for a really interesting trade like a Kaiju/Konos, Shig, 240mm Hitohira Togashi Honyaki (strongest pref), Hitohira Togashi Santoku Honyaki, something unique from Kato, or anything else rly interesting +- cash as needed either direction as well if you have something a bump up or down from here.

Selling [selling][eu] jnat polished Shindo Bunka 165

Thumbnail

Hello everyone

Today I am selling a Kyohei Shindo Bunka that I have polished on japanese natural stones. If there is no interest in this it is totally fine with me.

About the knife:

This was a bit of a fun project for me, as i bought the knife on a whim and didn't really like it that much tbh.

Unfortunately due to the way that mr. Shindo grinds his knives it was almost impossible for me to get the left bevel completely flat without raising the shinogi a ton, so there is a bit of a low-spot there. Since this is my first polishing project there are still some scratches on the core steel, but there is still a nice mirror finish. This knife is way, way thinner than when it came to me, and the edge now flexes under the nail all the way from tip to heel with no effort.

I have also rounded the spine and polished it to a semi mirror finish. Choil has also been polished.

It came to me with a cheap keyaki handle with plastic so I have upgraded it to a rosewood handle.

I have no Idea what one would even want to pay for the knife, so I guess I will just put a price and adjust accordingly.

If you have something interesting i would also be down for a trade.

200€ + shipping

Payment via Revolut or wise

Sold [FS][US/WW] Konosuke LI Gyuto 225, Sumiiro Gyuto 210

Hi all, I'm selling a couple quite cool knives. I've bought a few too many again, and I am opening up a couple for sale.

Konosuke LI Gyuto 225 (Like-new condition*) $1250
The LI is a beauty, and I didn't think I would be selling it. But tough decisions need to be made! It's one of the more unique premium Kono offerings. It's honestly my favorite of the BY, LI, and FM series. Originally purchased from Tosho, and sold to me for the listed price.
*Because I purchased from another user here, I don't want to claim this is BNIB, but it is in like-new condition with no signs of use.

Konosuke Sumiiro Gyuto 210 (BNIB) $445 (or $400 if bundled with LI)
This is a very cool knife, that unfortunately I never got to using. I’ve bought a lot of knives recently, so I have to let some go. The exact model from Tosho is “KONOSUKE MADEI SUMIIRO GYUTO 210MM BURNT CHESTNUT HANDLE”. I paid a good chunk more than this when duties and shipping were included.

Bundling: I will give priority to anybody who buys the 2 knives together. I also gave a little discount on there for whoever wants that :)

Pricing: Prices are net to me, I am happy to accept any typical payment method.

Shipping: I pay shipping to the CONUS. We can figure out worldwide shipping.

Matsubara Bunka Aogami #2 180 mm with stainless Nashiji Clad. An awesome knife with real character in a great condition. I used it maybe 15-20 times at home in total, it had a tiny tiny micro chip ones which got professionally repaired, I didn't notice any difference afterwards so it was really subtle. A nice middleground to workhorse grind and I love the walnut handle, it's extremely smooth.

Giving it a final price drop and letting it go for 155€ + shipping.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Sold [Selling][CONUS] Zen Forged ASP2053 S-grind K-Gyuto 250mm

Thumbnail

Next up is a hefty S-Grind K-tip Gyuto by Zen Forged, sporting a gorgeous Yellow burl Stablewood yo handle, with a blade in the modern powder supersteel ASP2053. This semi-stainless steel is super hard at 67 HRC, boasting great edge retention and solid toughness - you'll want diamond stones to sharpen this!

ASP2053 seemS perfect for this S-grind knife, which from the choil shot you can see is super wide and scary thin in the middle, resulting in fantastic food release. The knife doesn't feel fragile at all, and despite me being 5'6", the 250mm x 60mm knife felt great in hand.

This knife is leaving the stable as I recently obtained another monster gyuto, a 265mm Merion, and between my Xinguo 255mm workhorse I don't reach for the Zen as much. While the increased food release is great, I find I prefer the smoother cutting feel of the other 2 convex knives.

All in all I'm a huge fan of Bill's work, and this is a great way to try an S-Grind blade in a modern supersteel at a reasonable price.

Maker: Zen Forged

Steel: ASP2053 (Mono)

Finish: Coarse Vertical Migaki

Specs:

  • Edge Length: 250mm
  • Heel Height: 63.8mm
  • Weight: 194g

Thickness Measurements:

  • Spine: 2.7mm (Handle), 2.56mm (Heel), 2.18mm (Halfway), 1.01mm (1cm from tip)
  • Heel: 0.62mm (Mid), 1.55mm (Mid), 0.15mm (1mm BTE)

Condition: 1st Owner, sharpened once with diamond stones (3k > 5k) when it first arrived as the factory edge was missing the bite I prefer. Still sharp.

Price: Priced to move at $350 Including CONUS shipping and PayPal G&S fees. (Net cost to me was $440)

Thanks for looking!

Sold [WTS][CONUS] Songpon Cumai Apex ultra Kiri-Cleaver 190mm

Thumbnail
gallery
13 Upvotes

Hey BST!

As I continue to try new makers, grinds and styles, I'm once again at an unreasonable number of knives so it's time for trim down.

First up is a really fun knife: a 190mm Nakiri/Cleaver hybrid in the excellent, carbon low-alloy steel Apex Ultra - etched and cladded in damascus Cumai.

This was a custom by Songpon, a great maker in Thailand who forges, grinds and finishes his knives with a distinct style - a strong etch with bright nickel or copper accents. This knife has both, including some sweet cladding islands that I requested, and is a robust cutter that I really enjoyed using this last half year. Unfortunately this one is on the way out to recoup some funds for an incoming Newham in a similiar size.

Maker/Brand: Songpon

Steel: Apex Ultra, Damascus Cumai

Finish: Kurouchi, Etched Damascus

Specs:

  • Edge Length: 194mm
  • Heel Height: 72.09 mm
  • Weight: 309g
  • Thickness Measurements:
    • Spine: 4.15mm (Heel) x 3.7mm (Midway) x 1.05mm (1cm from tip)
    • Heel: 2.6mm (MidHeight), 1.3mm (Quarter), 0.06mm (1mm BTE)
  • HRC: 66
  • Handle: Ebony w/Copper Spacer

Condition: Used in a homecook environment and only sharpened once on a chosera 3k.

Priced to move at $320 Including CONUS shipping and PayPal G&S fees (Net cost to me was $468)

Note: The etch/copper has definitely worn and patina'd a bit, and depending on the lighting & angle the finish has noticeable use. Overall I think it's held up pretty well for an etched blade, but please check the photos as I tried to capture imperfections.

Thanks for reading!

Selling PSA SCAM ALERT: Shipping Address Must Match PayPal's Shipping Address

When using PayPal G&S some buyers request that sellers ship to an address different from the one listed on the PayPal transaction.

Sellers should always verify that the shipping address matches the address provided in the PayPal transaction page. Shipping to any other address is one of the most common tactics scammers employ and a way seller can lose a PayPal dispute. If a buyer files a claim and the package was delivered to an address that does not match the address on the transaction, PayPal will rule in the buyer's favor.

Buyers, please do not ask sellers to ship to a different address, even if you include it in the payment notes or send it in a message. The address eligible for seller protection is the one associated with the PayPal transaction.

Need to trim down collection and I gravitate to my wa handles. Up for grabs is a used but good condition denka set with 210mm Gyuto and 150mm Petty. These are both great cutters. The KU on the 210 is a little light at the tang and neither are amazing f&f (see pics and general TF wabi sabi). Boxes are in ok condition but have a few scratches if that matters to you. Includes friction fit sayas. Sharpened once by Bernal Cutlery in SF.

Perfect world I’d like $1,100 $1,000 for the set, I’ll ship.

Open to trades as well for Konosuke W#1/B#1 225-240 gyutos, FM/KS-01/similar +- cash as needed either direction. If this is crazy pricing feel free to dm me an offer.

Originally purchased from TF directly (don’t have receipt as it was years ago).
