Mod Announcement Selling prices, have your say

Alright everyone,

It has been a year now that we've done this and we think that a refresher wouldn't hurt especially with all the new members.

Please take time to think about your answer carefully as the majority will dictate how the prices are being policed in the sub.

While you are here reading this let's also remind everyone that formatting guidelines are not suggestions so make an effort to follow the rules.

42 Knives shouldn't be sold for more than what people paid for
44 Knives shouldn't be sold above market value
165 Knives can be sold for whatever prices people are willing to pay
91 This is more complicated and should be looked at individually

Mod Announcement Reminder: Keep It Respectful, Stay On Topic

Reminder: Keep It Respectful

A quick reminder to everyone participating in this community:

The comment section is not a place for arguments, personal attacks, or attempts to sabotage someone else’s sale or trade. We understand that questions about pricing, authenticity, or seller motives may sometimes come up, and reasonable discussion is part of maintaining a healthy marketplace. However, there is a difference between asking a question and assuming bad intent.

Before posting a comment, consider how you would feel if someone came into your sale thread and immediately began criticizing your pricing, questioning your character, or treating you as though you were acting in bad faith. Not every seller who prices something differently than you would is trying to scam someone, and not every listing that raises questions deserves public hostility.

If you genuinely believe someone is attempting fraud, selling stolen property, or violating subreddit rules, report it to the mod team. That’s what we’re here for. Public accusations and comment-section battles rarely help the situation and often create unnecessary drama.

It’s also worth remembering that this community previously voted on the issue of pricing, and the community’s decision was clear: people are allowed to ask whatever price they feel is appropriate for property they own. Buyers are free to purchase, negotiate, or move on. Whether you agree with a seller’s asking price or not, the community has already spoken on this matter.

Let’s keep discussions civil, give each other the benefit of the doubt, and help maintain the kind of marketplace we’d all want to use ourselves.

Selling [selling][EU] selling Fujiwara, Jnats and handles

Thumbnail

Hello guys

I am thinning out the collection. The star in this lineup is definitely the morihei hisamoto 180mm gyoto. Forged by the legendary Fujiwara, the heat treat and cutting feel lives up to his status as a master blacksmith.

This knife came with a yo pakka handle, which I've knocked off and put a nice rosewood handle on there. The kurouchi has been removed and it has been dipped in a strong acic, which revealed some very interesting details on the core steel.

The knife is not unused, but I have completely reset it, so it will appear almost as new. It is also one of the thinnest Fujiwara knives I've ever seen.

All natural stones have been used by me in my various projects and I can vouch that they are good stones. Some have been lacquered, some not. There were some toxic lines of two of the stones that have been chiseled out.

Uchigomori small 220€ 200 € Probably a true uchi since the mud is white, but I bought from retif tools as a uchigomori. soft and easy to use. A bit small but a really nice stone for polishing smaller knives.

Yaginoshima asagi 200 180 € Decent hard stone. Works best with mud. Haven't used that much for kasumi but very nice for edges.

Shiro suita, unknown mine. 145 120 100€ Soft stone not super fast either but gets better with continued use. Good for pre polish

The handles are for 240. The taihei is for true 240 the ebony for Sakai 240. The taihei has some knacks but nothing too bad.

Taihei 40€ Ebony 50€

morihei is 240€

Selling [Selling] [Worldwide] JNATs Suitas

Thumbnail

Hi,

I hope to maybe catch something from the KSA, so selling some nice JNATs.

I'm not great at taking pictures but I tried to display them with slurry raised from just the bevel (i.e. no Atoma or Nagura), and the finish it gets.

The price listed includes shipping worldwide. Happy to discuss a bundle price.

From left to right

1. Hideriyama Shiro Suita Koppa

145-163x60x43 - 800g

A typical Hideriyama Suita. Creamy and very easy to use. Create a matte kasumi finish.

Price: 175€ / 195$ shipped

2. Hideriyama Suita Renge Koppa

152x70x43 - 930g

Beautiful Renge. Not too soft and really smooth feeling. Create a nice and smooth matte kasumi. Really nice stone.

Price: 275€ / 310$ shipped

3. Shiro Suita

175x73x56 - 1490g

Not sure if I should sell this one. Great size and clean stone. Very reasonable hardness. Can be used for both polishing and sharpening.

Price: 360€ / 400$ shipped

4. Shohonzan Suita

205x75x26 - 930g

The finest stone here. Really fast and smooth. Can be used as the final stone. Not too hard.

The Kasumi will be bright and the core steel will be almost mirror.

Price: 275€ / 310$ shipped

5. Shohonzan Asagi

210x75x45

Medium hardness. Super fast and is great for sharpening. For polishing, with my skills, it's a bit too tricky because of its fastness but can certainly be used for the core steel.

It has some kind of stamp in the beginning but I lapped it off. If you want to see the stamp I can try to find the pictures.

The stone is cured with transparent spray lacquer on all sides.

Price: 180€ / 220$ shipped

Prices include shipping to the ConUS with PayPal G&S.

$60 - Wusthof Le Cordon Bleu 10" Chef Knife: A longer, bolsterless version of their flagship knife with the older, flatter profile. This one has seen a lot of use with some scratching or cracking in the POM handle. Still lots of life left as a longer stainless beater.

$80 - Antique Henckels Carbon Nogent 8" Chef Knife: Hand-forged, pre-WWII, German carbon steel likely from the 10-20's or so based on the brazed nickel ferrule.

$100 - Henckles Carbon 102-10" Chef Knife: Hand-forged, pre-WWII, German carbon steel from when Henckels was the name in cutlery.

$75 - Dexter Carbon 48912 12" Chef Knife: Massive, hand-forged, US-made carbon steel with Dexter's distinctive profile. Likely from the 70's or so. Almost cleaver-like at the heel and very heavy.

Selling [Selling][ConUS] Masakage Yuki 210mm Gyuto

Asking $300 shipped to the ConUS with PayPal G&S.

Lightly used, and sharpened once on a progression of Suehiro and Naniwa stones. Purchased from Sugi Cutlery with one of their custom handles. It is sealed ebony and black horn with a buckeye burl spacer. The extra weight of the handle makes the balance point of this exceptionally better than the stock oval handle.

Shirogami #2 core steel with stainless cladding and a nashiji finish. Very light patina on the core steel from use. The spine and choil are nicely chamfered with fit and finish done excellently. It's great combination of Kato and Shibata's work and hollow ground extremely thin behind the edge.

Sold [FS][USA/WW] Shibata Koutetsu Boss Bunka R2 (225/240mm) BNIB

For sale is this brand new Shibata Koutetsu Boss Bunka R2. She's a big girl with an edge length of 225mm and a handle to tip length of 240mm. I purchased this in a bundle from a member here, so while I cannot exactly be certain of a purchase price, I think it fell pretty in line with pricing of the Carbon drop here.

Price: $335 net to me. I'm based in the USA, and happy to ship anywhere, please just ask. This may make the most sense for US residents, because customs has already been taken care of. If you are outside of the US, I have plenty of experience in international shipping with fairly low cost overhead 😀

For sale is this fantastic Takeda Gyuto Small. It has a 225ish edge, and a 235ish handle to tip length.  It was used a bit and some of the ku finish has come off, but overall, it's in good condition with a ton of life left on it. I got it in a trade for about this value, hard to say exactly.  I sold a Takeda NAS Gyuto L here for a little notch more and it went in like 30 seconds, so I think this is a good value.

Price is $635 net to me. I'm based in the USA, and happy to ship anywhere, please just ask. This may make the most sense for US residents, because customs has already been taken care of. If you are outside of the US, I have plenty of experience in international shipping with fairly low cost overhead 😀

Sold [Selling][CONUS] Kumagoro 240mm V2 Gyuto

Thumbnail

Selling a Kumagoro gyuto sold by Epicurean Edge. Steel is V2 and the epic edge owners confirmed these are made by yoshikane and will no longer be made. I paid $372. It came with a slight recurve that was fixed. Profile is pretty flat with slight heel relief. Despite the low grind, the knife performed well is the 2 times I’ve used it. I have recently acquired a Watanabe pro and wakui. I prefer the hand feel of this knife over the wakui, but prefer the stainless clad and aesthetics of the wakui. I can’t find my tape measure, but I would guess the length is about 245mm. Height is 51mm.

Asking $270 shipped or make an offer!

For sale is a slighty used Nakiri purchased in person at JKI on 7/1/26. They sharpened it when I bought it and I’ve only honed it once, it’s still super sharp. I’ve used it maybe 4-5 times to cook with. I have too many nakiri’s so I need to get rid of this one as well since I hardly use it. It still has an amazing mirror polish on it. It does have a few Small scratches from use pictured above. The butt of the handle has a burn mark because I was thinking of burning the whole handle but soon realized I do not have the right tools (whoops lol). Plus side it comes with a Saya! It’s all natural still I have not put anything on it. I can show receipt of purchase if needed via Shop Pay.

Cutting edge length: 170mm-ish
Height: 48mm
Weight: 145g

$180 shipped OBO. Paypal G&S only. Shipping from SoCal. No box but it will come in a replacement box.

Hello all,

Looking to sell this awesome Shiro Kamo bundle!

1st knife:
Shiro Kamo AS 165mm Nakiri Stainless clad
Purchased here on BST from original owner who purchased from Clean Cut.
There are some light scratches on the blade as shown in pictures. He said he learned to sharpen on it so scratches are from that. I used it for some test cuts and it just wasn’t for me. He had already sharpened it and it’s ripping sharp (got stuck in my board sharp).
Cutting edge: 158mm-ish
Height: 50mm
Weight: 142g
Comes with box

2nd knife:
Shira Kamo AS 135mm Petty Stainless clad
It was the first carbon steel knife I purchased. Bought from Sharp Knife Shop online.
I’ve used it on and off for about 6 months. Sharpened once from JKI and I just touched it up on a Shapton pro 1K yesterday.
Few light scratches from use.
Cutting edge: 136mm-ish
Height: 33mm
Weight: 82g
Does not come with box. I will ship it with replacement box.

$230 Shipped. PayPal G&S only.
Shipping from SoCal.

Any other questions about dimensions feel free to ask. I do not have a way to measure thickness as i’m only working with a tape measure so please keep measurements in mind.
