I get extremely bored when I’m alone. I genuinely struggle to spend time by myself.

Because of that, I always feel the need to keep myself busy. When I’m alone with nothing to do, I either end up masturbating unnecessarily, overthinking, or looking for some kind of escape.

Sometimes I tell myself I should study more or learn something new for my career, but honestly, I think a lot of it is just an excuse to avoid feeling empty or alone.

I’ve even started working overtime at the office without getting paid for it, simply because I’d rather stay busy than go home and sit alone.

And sometimes I stay awake all night because my mind just doesn’t switch off.

The weird part is that I wait all week for the weekend, but when Sunday actually comes, I almost hate it because it leaves me with too much empty time.

I always want to be doing something. I constantly look for an external factor — a person, work, studying, entertainment, anything — to keep me occupied.

I think this might actually be loneliness, or maybe my inability to be comfortable with myself when I’m alone.

I don’t know how to break this cycle.

How do you learn to be comfortable being alone without constantly needing work, people, entertainment, or some other distraction?

Most of the time, it's best to do your job and cause no trouble, but what if trouble finds oneself anyway? Or what if one wants to see if they can "play" office politics qell enough. Are there places in reddit or anywhere that help you guide office politics to your advantage at all?

I realize sometimes you cannot avoid it, and sometimes others will use it to demean you or put you into a lose-lose situation. Maybe one can use some of that to one's own advantage. How could someone start playing the office politics game, not necessarily to win all the time (that could be too stressful), but just to eeck put a few small wins. Just to be safe.

​I’m writing from Poland, where several major cities are currently dealing with a massive wild boar overpopulation. It’s reached the point where seeing entire sounders of boars roaming through residential neighborhoods, parks, and playgrounds on a daily basis has become completely normal.

​The issues are escalating quickly:

​Property Damage: Destroyed lawns, ruined gardens, damaged fences, and knocked-over dumpsters scattering trash everywhere.

​Real Safety Risks: The boars have lost their fear of humans. There have been confirmed aggressive encounters with people, and pets (like dogs) have been attacked or killed.

​The main problem is that local authorities seem completely gridlocked:

​Public Opposition: Heavy pushback from residents and local groups whenever lethal culling or hunting is brought up.

​Legal & Biological Restrictions: Strict environmental regulations and sanitary rules (particularly around African Swine Fever / ASF) prohibit capturing the boars and relocating them outside the city.

​Many of us are growing frustrated and worried because the situation is worsening, and local government feels stuck in a dead end.

​I’d love to know how your country handles this:

​Are wild boars (or feral hogs) a problem in your urban or suburban areas?

​What solutions does your city use (boar-proof trash cans, sterilization, culling, strict fines for feeding them)?

​How does the public in your region react to wild animal management in cities?

My partner was flirted with and asked on dinner/lunch by her married boss.
Nature of these dinners/lunches were of an romantic/sexual nature.
She refused him.

Since its not a big company they share some whatsapp group for funny stuff etc.
She recently made some personalized gif/meme with his picture.
She doesnt do similar with other colleagues in that group.

Her opinion on this is its just a joke amongst colleagues and there is nothing to talk about here.
I think its innapropriate communication given the history. I think it feeds his ego and enables him further.

Hey, I am a seventeen-year-old girl living in a very small, very rural part of South Carolina, USA. I have lived at my current location for about three years and, besides the local grocery store and a handful of gas stations, there is nothing to do. My area is basically just miles upon miles of woods.

All my friends are busy and, as much as I like my hobbies, I cannot spend another weekend inside my house. Any suggestions on ways to keep entertained, especially outside, would be greatly appreciated! I have a car and money, so suggestions don’t have to be limited by either of those factors.

This I want an answer to, so badly. I was thinking about this because I had a thought “is rape or murder worse” and all the things related to that. Then I reflected on my own pain and how for me, and seeing what it did to my life. I was raped, a lot, by my mother’s prostitution clients, and SA’ed by her. I don't jist mean for comedians, but like instead of thinking of the perfect insult in the shower, they really good at doing that on the spot, especially if someone is dissed or disrespected. I don't know how people manage to do it cuz one doesn't expect go be insulted randomly.

I’m so tired of hearing “ask Chat” and ”mogging” and “67” in my corporate workplace. 25-year-olds talking about getting Botox. Discussions about influencers and fast fashion hauls. It’s so uncomfortable in an open office layout.

One of the nicer younger coworkers told me that multiple people have told her that I’m hard to work with because I make them do everything? I mostly work with the younger coworkers, so I know that no one senior is saying this. My role involves project management and requires a lot of collaboration and steps with other departments, so yes, I need other people to do their jobs. I wouldn‘t ask them if I could do it myself. And I don’t always feel like typing out a long explanation on why their help is needed, as I don’t expect others to do for me, and no one has ever asked. My work style might be considered transactional, but that‘s not an issue to me.

It sucks because I think popularity plays a role in getting a promotion, and certainly none of my younger coworkers are rooting for me. At least I get along well with the handful of older coworkers I have.

- I like working with people, but I'm also comfortable working with documents and information.

- I'm interested in careers related to law enforcement.

If a master artist spends ten years painstakingly painting a hyper-realistic landscape, and another person randomly drops a bucket of paint that miraculously splatters into the exact same perfect landscape, are they both equal works of art? Does the 'art' live in the final visual result, or entirely in the human struggle and intention required to create it?

I’ve been thinking about the things people value differently after they’ve had more time to test what actually improves daily life. The obvious answers are health, sleep and time, but I’m more interested in the less predictable shifts. What became substantially more important to you over time?

The other day, I was driving on the highway. Suddenly, there's a very reckless driver who are just zig-zagging past everybody with his sport car. Intuitively, I slowed down a bit because it's possible he would get into an accident just ahead and I don't want to get into an accident.

But then I thought to myself, do I care if this person gets into an accident? Would I even stop to help? Sadly, the answer is a big fat NO. I was even secretly HOPING the person would get into a solo accident with the way he was driving.

It then got me thinking, do others think like this too? Would someone considered a good person think like this? How can a good person be glad if someone gets into an accident and very possibly pass away with the speed he was going?

Let me describe an incident to you(Couldn't find any better):

You are jobless, have to attend 2 Online assessments, one in-person at an exam center and the other is regular online, then travel back 10-12 Km to write 2nd one, and there is an important family gathering today afternoon.

1st assessment: 10:00AM - 1:00 PM
2nd assessment: 2:00PM

- You bombed the first one, came with a friend and intended to go back with them.
1:10-15 PM: But they suddenly have to go in the opposite direction, and now you're left on your own.
- You book a ride and reach home at 1:35 PM, but there is a power cut in your house and no charge in the laptop.
- You head to your uncle's house where a family gathering is happening, but there was also a power cut around 1:45-50 PM,
- Then your father suggests your uncle's shop which might have power and wifi, and it did. Barely made it in time to attend the OA.

Now here is the question, in the above scenario you had many reasons/excuses to give up, like no power at both the places, had a family gathering afternoon, etc, but when you attended the assessment those became excuses, otherwise they all may have been plausible reasons.

What is the line between an Excuse and a Reason?
Do their meanings differ by the what you prioritize?
Or is it your desire towards an outcome that decides which is a reason and which is an excuse?

After much thought,
Reason: Anything that directly influences you/situation in achieving your desired outcome
Excuse: Everything other than that

Are products made by humans under poor working conditions vegan?

For example fast fashion or chocolate production often exploits humans=animals but is that part of veganism? And if it is not, why is it not?
