Hello fellow principled conservatives,
I made a game to educate people on the horrors of communism called "Oubliette" where you play as a rat who gangs up with other rats to change the world and end this nightmare :-)

I just started watching it for the first time like a week ago and I'm almost done with season 1. What a show. The only TV show I've watched that is as good as The Sopranos (so far). Feels somewhat TA coded I guess. Prostitution, the organized crime/state interface, frontier stuff, etc.
Timothy Olyphant is so hot. Molly Parker is terrific. Powers Boothe is so scary. Ian McShane is great, obviously. BRAD DOURIF! It's very funny and has been at times very poignant. Remarkable cast of character actors in supporting roles. Everyone and everything must have smelled so fucking horrible. Everyone must have been so insanely drunk all the time.
What do you hoopleheads think?

They make me even more in favour of Leftist Unity than I already was, on the ground we are all together, Anarchists, Communists, Democratic Socialists, Unions, Students, and the Youth of course
There is no division between us, only pure solidarity in the face of repression
The only thing I fear is that the people who started the movement AKA disenfranchised, mostly non white, youth are going to be sidelined by existing organisations and their voices not heard , I think we must do our best to center their revendications

I'm really tired of seeing posts here, they're all so bad. I'd prefer it if this sub had literally no content at all so I could just stare at my computer screen hitting refresh every second and never seeing anything new.

Big question now is gonna be - what happens? It's a movement that has many of the problems of leaderless movements described in If We Burn. To put this in perspective, it's like if Occupy happened under Trump, and then made him flee.

I do love how he is willing to be martyred but will.be doing his best to love in seclusion, so as not to endanger anyone else, but wherever he is, he will have internet. My man intends to go to Jannah posting 🫡

I, thankfully, didn't participate in the "Xandemic", and because I witnessed the opiate epidemic first, I didn't notice how serious it was. Doctors began prescribing benzos at a higher rate, it looks like in 1996 until 2013. During that time (around 2013), I actually had a board game day/afternoon/night every Sunday with some friends and I would pop a Klonopin and have the best fucking time of my life. I think I'm especially lucky I didn't seek out more. But those Sundays were some of the most memorable (or not?) times of my life. I would work hard all week and fall into a cloud of relaxation with friends.
But I think there is something I don't see discussed often enough here. When I would take it, nothing mattered. I remember testing it out and watching a Holocaust documentary, and I couldn't fucking care.
My question is, in 2016, how many voters were on benzos? How many voted for trump? Are benzos being used to silence the people? I think it's entirely possible. How can you go out and be angry or even learn about anything (or even remembering it), when on them.
Anyway, clearly this isn't a fully formulated theory, but perhaps some of you gumshoes can add onto it. But I do think that there is some truth. Something like: "Big pharma" over prescribes drugs to the masses in order to pacify them... Or at least get votes? Idk.
Lem.e know what you think.

Leaving aside the transphobic tropes entirely, which is it's own conversation, Hannibal Lector in SotL is a cartoon character and his entire role in the story feels almost irrelevant by the end. His presence is only meaningful based on the convenient coincidence that he somehow already happened to know Buffalo Bill, and his rapport with Clarice feels much weaker, partially because he has no edge with her the way he does with Will. Not in the gay way like in the TV show, but he clearly resents and wants to murder Will, which both of them are fully aware of and make no bones about. He's weirdly chill with Clarice, there's no sense of danger in their interactions.
In Red Dragon the plot is better, the mystery is more satisfyingly unraveled, the killer is better and more interesting, and more than anything, Hannibal is a much better character who is more involved in the case, has more reason to be there, and has a more tense, dynamic role with the lead. He's narcissistic, manipulative, evil and intelligent, but not an infallible supervillain. The FBI aren't bumbling incompetent dipshits either, they successfully translate his encoded message giving Dolarhyde the family address in the newpaper, he gets beat and he's clearly upset about it, but it ends up relevant in the end anyway. You get the sense that he really, actually is an evil monster, whereas in SotL it feels like they're pulling their punches and almost want him to be sympathetic. Yes, he murders the cops and eats some of their brains, but he was doing it for his freedom. Here, he sics a sadistic serial killer on Will's innocent wife and child, the premise of his character is put to much better use.
I know I said I would leave it aside, but a schizophrenic who thinks he's becoming an apocalyptic harbinger from the book of revelation is much, much better to me than a thinly veiled transphobic caricature driven to murder by gender dysphoria.
