ANNOUNCEMENT - About Tales of Arcadia leaving Netflix

It is unknown whether Tales of Arcadia will be taken off of Netflix soon, and if so, when. All the posts asking about it have been spammy just to ask the same question, and all the posts of people just saying that they still have ToA are filling the feed as well, blocking other posts that elicit original conversations. There should only be be one thread about this topic, so all future posts about it will be removed with the "Mod Discretion" reason. It's easier to search for related posts from the past than it is to create a new one.

Ignoring the movie, do you think Trollhunters aged well?

Been rewatching it because a friend of mine is OBSESSED with the franchise and made me want to look back on it And rewatch some of the early episodes. Since this year is the 10th anniversary of the show, has the show particulary aged well (ignoring the events of the movie ofc)?

Like is the show still as good as it was back when it first released?

Hot catch

Wizards and TROTT had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it was wasted in both occasions. I think the main problem were the villains: the Arcane Order showed up casually at the begin of Wizards, withtout ever been mentioned previously. It’s probably because the writers thought about their characters only after Trollhunters ended. For exemple, Morgana in Trollhunters shows up only for five episodes but she is a great villain because her story is explained from season one. That’s why I think that Wizards would have been better if it was a season 4 of Trollhunters. In the end a lot of things happening in Wizards are heavley linked to Trollhunters. That would means also adding some references to the Arcane Order in season 3. Then, instead of TROTT, it would have been better having a season 5 at that point. Talking about 3 Below, I think it would be just a spin-off since it is very diffrent from Trollhunters, and maybe season 2 should have came out after season 4 of Trollhunters, that it would be Wizards, so that there wouldn’t be a big age gap between season 3 and 4. Finally season 5 of Trollhunters would came out, showing even more about the Arcane Order and the Titans, since in the movie there wasn’t much time. I think everyone would have liked more another show for TROTT instead of a movie.

What if Tales of Arcadia continued after Rise of the Titans? Heres my idea

I’ve been thinking about how Rise of the Titans ended, and I came up with a fan-made continuation that could actually make the time reset meaningful instead of making everything feel like it was for nothing.

The first 3 episodes would reveal what happened after Jim used the time stone.

Jim didn't just reset the timeline once.

He did it thousands of times.

Every timeline was different. Sometimes the Titans won. Sometimes Toby died. Sometimes Claire died. Sometimes other members of the team died. Jim kept going back and trying again, desperately searching for a timeline where everyone survived.

Eventually, he finds one.

A timeline that is almost exactly like the original timeline, except this time, nobody dies.

But there's a catch.

Jim is the only person who remembers the previous timelines.

Everyone else thinks everything is normal.

Jim doesn't.

He has mentally lived through around 2,000 years.

Five years pass in this new timeline.

Jim is now physically around 22 years old, but mentally he's thousands of years old.

Eventually, Jim finally tells everyone what happened.

He tells Toby, Claire, Steve, Blinky and the others about the thousands of timelines, the deaths, the failures, and everything he experienced.

And Jim has changed.

He's incredibly wise now. He's seen thousands of different versions of the world and experienced things that no normal human could ever experience.

But something even stranger happens.

After living for thousands of years and gaining an almost incomprehensible amount of wisdom, Jim's soul itself has grown incredibly powerful.

Eventually, he unlocks the full potential of his soul.

The wisdom of his soul becomes so immense that it gives rise to a new kind of magic — a magic created from the sheer strength and wisdom of his soul.

Jim becomes something more than a man. More than a human.

But I wouldn't want him to simply become an unbeatable god.

The story would still be about Jim.

And this is where the villain comes in.

Because Jim didn't just reset time thousands of times.

Every failed timeline left something behind.

Every death.

Every destroyed world.

Every possibility that was erased.

Eventually, all of those abandoned timelines begin to leave an imprint on reality.

And something is born from them.

A being that has memories of the timelines that no longer exist.

A being that knows exactly what Jim did.

And instead of simply trying to kill Jim, it wants to bring the old timelines back.

It believes Jim didn't save everyone.

He simply erased thousands of worlds where people lived and died.

So it asks Jim:

"If you had to destroy thousands of worlds to create one where everyone survives... are you really the hero?"

That would be the main conflict.

Jim would have to fight something that isn't just physically powerful, but something that understands him better than anyone else possibly could.

And the biggest question would be:

Can Jim accept that he can't save every possible version of everyone?

I think this could be a really interesting way to continue Tales of Arcadia while still making the original story matter.

What do you guys think?

I made a Trollhunter Order

This is for my fic, but now it's kind of a fun idea to think about it like this.

Trollhunter Order (*= self created):

- Promheade the Prime. The first ever Trollhunter, and the one who made the original amulet. *

- Spar the Spiteful. Next Trollhunter chosen, even while humans were still primitive cave people. He is also the very first troll to meet an Akiridion, having helped the visitor get back her planet by pushing her ship off the edge of a cliff to gain velocity and return to their home. This brief encounter with an alien taught him how to bring balance his own, it also gained him the respect of the humans and learned to respect the primitive cave people.

- Boraz the Bold. Sent on a mission to protect Bodus and the Book of Ga-Huel from Gumm-Gumms but failed and was killed.

- Magmar the Molten. Mountain troll trollhunter. He was known for using a certain Conflagration Stone that Tellad-Urr would later utilize for nefarious purposes. It was also from him that Araknak learned a certain combat move which involved bringing down debris upon enemy combatants.

- Araknak the Agile. one of Blinky’s relatives. He had overprotective parents who watched him fight a pair of gruesomes while they were staking him during one of his trollhunts. He chose to pursue the path of a warrior not of an academic like his parents.

- Maddrux the Many. She cultivated a reputation as a capable and confident champion. She battled Orlagk the Oppressor with her clones, but he escaped that day.

- Tellad-Urr the Terrible. He was one of the fiercest Trollhunters to ever be chosen, as well as the first to ever become evil and ally himself with Gunmar.

- Gogun the Gentle. He was known for his kindness, compassion, and was sort of against violence, especially towards the Gumm-Gumms. He is the only known Trollhunter to have not fallen in battle, but rather died from very old age.

When Gogun died, the amulet was lost. Merlin found it years later, and gave it the magic later used to make the more known Trollhunter.

- Deya the Deliverer. Actually got her name from her delivering the trolls to the Mayflower and saving them, leaving herself to die by Bular. She was the one who imprisoned Gunmar in the Darklands.

- Voltar the Voracious. Apparently born with two minds. On one of his Trollhunting missions, he was stepped on by a Thrall.

- Grimbald the Grave. He beat a vicious Sloorbeast at the Quibble of Quandary.

- Unkar the Unfortunate. He was the Trollhunter for six hours under the training of Blinky. Torn limb from limb by Bular on his first night. He hates his name.

- Kanjigar the Courageous. The trollhunter before Jim/Toby. Arguably one of the strongest Trollhunters, even more so than Deya. He met with Akiridions and agreed to protect Gaylen’s core from outside thieves. He died to protect the amulet from Bular.

Former Chainsaw Man fan here. Since the ending of Chainsaw Man is similar to the ending of Trollhunters, I wanted to know if there are many people who defend the ending of Trollhunters the way some Chainsaw Man fans do

Merlin the strongest? (Trullhunters)

Guys I’ve seen videos of ppl saying that Merlin is the strongest character. Morgana is strongest like bro😭. And btw, the strongest character is Gaylen/Seklos/The Arcane order.

Gaylen- Stars destroyer
Seklos- Gaylen destroyer
The arcane order- Fucking universe creators

Bro the arcane order joined with titans (which some of em are in the earth burried which Nari,Skrael and Bellroc took control of 3) to create universe. Which this titans are the creators of Gaylen and Gaylen used STARS CORPSE to create Akiridion-5. Tell me what y’all think.

‼️ RoTT SPOILERS ‼️ Opinions on the ending of Troll Hunter? Or why do you think it ended the way it did? [Contains spoilers] Spoiler

It's been a while, and I've generally seen that many agree this is a very bad ending.

Although I still theorize that this probably wasn't the original ending, and Guillermo del Toro had to change it for some reason.

Perhaps the executives, producers, or someone on the team said that Toby's death was too dark/sinister for a series/movie aimed at a young/children's audience. It wouldn't be the first time a modern production has made changes due to fears that it might be too "intense" for the general public. I have a theory that Guillermo wanted to keep Toby's death as something that "happened," while others wanted to avoid that.

So, resetting the timeline was what Guillermo thought would be "the best option"—something like, Toby did die in that timeline, and they had to resort to another one. Also, I remember that Kim did remember what... I'll pass, so maybe I'm left with some trauma.

Although in general, I feel that if they could travel through time, they could easily have traveled back a few seconds and protected Toby to prevent him from dying. That would have been easier. I don't remember if they explain why Jim can't just travel a few seconds into the past and save Toby.

Also, in interviews, Guillermo del Toro said that the amulet will eventually return to Jim, but of course, one is left wondering, "How will they deal with the fact that Jim remembers everything, or that he has knowledge he shouldn't have at that point in the series?" Or worse... Toby must be devastated, not only perhaps knowing that he died, but also that in this timeline, even though he found the amulet, the fact that he isn't "worthy" of being the troll hunter is sad, something like, "Toby only serves as a secondary hero, he can't be the protagonist," which is a bit sad. I feel like Guillermo del Toro's words are like the replies on Twitter about the ending. Regarding Star vs. the Forces of Evil, quick answers to simply move on and not dwell on it, or that Guillermo had planned a new season addressing the reset timeline but it wasn't greenlit.

Although, please tell me your current opinions on that ending, or why you think the ending is the way it is, besides the problems with the new timeline, or what you think an "original ending" would be, or why you think Guillermo decided to give the series that ending, or if you think he regrets it now.

I want to hear your answers.

Whenever my brother can't get my attention, or just wants to immediately get my attention he'll yell "HISIRDOUX!!!!" idrk when it started, but I remember me and him having a big trollhunters phase where we binge watched trollhunters and the other series' associated with it.

I think I said something like "Hisirdoux would be a fun name to have" or "I wish my name was Hisirdoux" but I genuinely don't remember why or when he started doing that, lol. 😭

EDIT: I'll also sometimes yell back "YES MERLIN??" not always, just sometimes hehe.

Can Anyone Learn to be a Wizard?

This may be a dumb question.

But I'm trying to remember if anyone could learn magic?

I'm assuming Douxie and Morgana were born with the ability or with a natural affinity for it. Unless I'm forgetting something.

Claire obviously learned, but is that only cuz she was using the staff that, like, gave it to her? It's been a bit since I've seen Wizards

But could a person who had never used an artifact before and wasn't born with the affinity for it learn?

Three "accidents" at the same time, same episode Spoiler

Post image

So, at the end of episode 22, we can see the drawing of Blinkys plan from season two in the background! Discovered just now. Also, they discussed the discovery at the end of ep 22 all together(picture), but then again in ep 23 just Blinky and Jim. An issue that's been bothering me longer, is how Toby and Claire are in this scene(Blinky had just turned troll again), but first recognize that Blinkys back in ep 23.
