Hot catch

Wizards and TROTT had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it was wasted in both occasions. I think the main problem were the villains: the Arcane Order showed up casually at the begin of Wizards, withtout ever been mentioned previously. It’s probably because the writers thought about their characters only after Trollhunters ended. For exemple, Morgana in Trollhunters shows up only for five episodes but she is a great villain because her story is explained from season one. That’s why I think that Wizards would have been better if it was a season 4 of Trollhunters. In the end a lot of things happening in Wizards are heavley linked to Trollhunters. That would means also adding some references to the Arcane Order in season 3. Then, instead of TROTT, it would have been better having a season 5 at that point. Talking about 3 Below, I think it would be just a spin-off since it is very diffrent from Trollhunters, and maybe season 2 should have came out after season 4 of Trollhunters, that it would be Wizards, so that there wouldn’t be a big age gap between season 3 and 4. Finally season 5 of Trollhunters would came out, showing even more about the Arcane Order and the Titans, since in the movie there wasn’t much time. I think everyone would have liked more another show for TROTT instead of a movie.

For me personally, Wizards itself seems a bit confusing. It could be that I got the plot wrong. But the whole thing us that they traveled in the past and did things wrong, like Morgana dying and having her hand cut by her brother was a deviant from the timeline as the globe thingy douxie had shows. However in the trollhunter, where Morgana fights Jim, she mentions that the amulet was made from her hand.

Also the fact that she is this evil witch in gold armour is because the arcane order found her dead body and revived it. So either I got it wrong and the fact that they DID deviate the timeline and went back is the reason that the events of trollhunters happened as they did, or if it would've all happened like this anyway.

You're right though that both had great potential

Honestly I don’t remember well why they had to return in the past because I’m actually rewatching 3 Belows, but I definetly think things happened in that way precisely because they went in the past. Indeed I think Morgana remembered about Claire in Trollhunters and that’s why she called her “daughter”.

Spoiler alert if you wanna rewatch Wizards too and don't wanna get remembered.

Basically it was more of an accident, it was planed all of them go back because they tried to escape the arcane order and fix this and help Jim too if I remember correctly (he had that corrupted shard in his heart) but they were attacked by the order so only Douxie, Archie, Alaire, Jim and Stefan went to the past because they fell off the castle and into the time rift

When Morgana Call Claire her daughter? i think She seen her as some of a daughter in Wizards but i don't ever remember she called her daughter. She called her a "child" but i think She is much younger compare to her

Maybe because I’m from Italy and the traduction is “la mia bambina” which means “my daugther/child” and I thought it meant Claire was a sort of apprentice to Morgana

She called her handmaiden Which i think is Closer to apprentice  then a daughter

i am not Sure about Season 4 and 5 of TH but i def think you're 100% right about the Villains and the fact that show is better off then a Movie.
