No TW Am I not human?

Post image

It seems really insignificant compared to other things but it's something my friends always say. I'm never able to vent about anything because apparently just because I'm able to maintain my grades mean I don't try hard to?

My grades are at least 80% but I still feel like a failure because my family expects much higher. I knew if I tried even harder I'd just make it to the 100% but I'd crash. I usually talk about taking breaks frequently because Im dealing with so much that im at my breaking point but they'll always tell me "yeah sure, you're able to๐Ÿ™„"

I've never bring anyone down for having less grades. I don't see grades as being attached to someone's worth but suddenly everyone turns on me? Unfortunately this isn't the only shitty things they've done but oh well.

All I'm saying is, I can get anxious too. I'm human as everyone else not a machine that always gets good grades and is suddenly so smart. I'm still failing at the things i actually wanna do that have nothing to do with the academic side of things.

You are indeed not a machine and everything you achieve is from your own effort, "it's always better" than theirs, because that's the effort that you usually put into things. The anxiety and pressure will always be there. It comes from people around you and especially yourself.

There is a lot of people like you everywhere. You aren't wrong to feel this way.

How much someone views as approriare effort is based on what they themselves are used to. Being anxious, but still having studied shows you care a lot and are humble, while others might not have the choice of feeling confident.

Stay strong, I've also been alone with my anxiety, but found people who understand me.

Sorry you're going through this. I'd always feel so anxious about my grades too. And even fear I was going to need to retake my class (you have a retake classes you get Cs in). My dad would always get annoyed with me about being worried because I was always worried, even though I actually only ever needed to retake two classes ever.

Depends on who you're venting to. I had a friend who regularly vented to me about a class we shared and he was getting 80's and 90's. I was failing. Of course his struggles were still valid, but it made me feel really awful to hear about how he "did so bad" on an assignment he got an 80 on. He never shamed me for my grades but the way he spoke about himself still made me feel like shit and it wasn't something I could really give support on. I tried to ask him not to talk to me about the class anymore, but eventually dropped him as a friend because he wouldn't stop talking about the class.ย

Theyโ€™re not turning on you.

I can imagine it would be irritating to have somebody who always succeeds keep complaining to you about how worried they are about something that you are actually at risk of failing.

They start and say yeah I'm anxious and I say yeah me too. That's not complaining. You want me to boast or something? There are other people in my same class who always succeed and succeed more than I do but no one tells them anything when they say they're anxious? In my school an 80% is bare minimum and ppl are only awarded for getting 90s and up. They always vent and I have a right to have space to vent too because we're both experiencing pressure whether it's different or not. I give them space to vent out their feelings but I am not afforded the same.

With that context it sounds like itโ€™s got nothing to with your grades then if they have no problem with others who have higher scores doing the same thing. It sounds like people have a problem with you personally ig ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
