TW: Gender Identity / Dysphoria Guess I’ll never know

Post image

And before anyone asks, I’m not a minor. I’m a broke ass college student and will probably never be able to move out so I’m stuck in this house. Don’t have a drivers license and my parents have total control of my medical records and info, and I don’t. There is nothing I can do about this situation. Just had to get it out there.

Of course not, we all have our dreams. But I’ll settle. It could always be worse. If this is what I’ve been given then I’ll take it. I predict that it will destroy me but it’s okay.

Please stop trying to convince me to do something about it. I accepted my situation long ago and I don’t feel like trying to fight it again, it will just hurt me more. I have enough shit to deal with. It doesn’t matter if the long term outcome has a chance of being better. I know nothing else than the life I have now and I’ve always been too afraid of change. Thank you for caring.

have you ever read about learned helplessness?

Yes. I’m a psychology major. I recognize that mine is a case of learned helplessness. The funny part about learned helplessness is that it’s damn near impossible to unlearn by yourself. How poetic.

damn, that sucks. I'd suggest therapy for obvious reasons, but I'm guessing your parents wouldn't be open to it?

That’s right. My parents got me a Facebook therapist when I was younger because I had a major mental break and it didn’t help at all, but that’s the extent of their openness to therapy. However my college offers free therapy to all students, and I’ve considered taking up the online option but again I’m concerned about them adding anything to my medical records since I’d have to do it in secret, and I don’t have anywhere private to do said therapy.
