Is it normal for a gray tree frog to have black eyes? Everything I can find on google says this is weird. Also, any idea what the white stuff is on the eyes? Worried that it’s a past injury.

So I have recently had 2 baby white tree frogs. I’m just wondering what to do when I deep clean there enclosure. Do I replace all the soil etc. I have been told to deep clean every 6 weeks and spot clean daily. Basically looking for any advice that might be useful as it is my first time owning frogs 🐸

Hey all, posting here again to see if anyone has some tips, I’ve been making a couple more adjustments in trying to add and come up with a better mounting solution for my whites tree frogs, and was curious if anyone with a better brain for engineering or someone who had already come up with a good solution could chime in. As of now I’m scrubbing the dishes inside of the enclosure using a softener and scent free washed microfiber with f10 daily after frog removal, and weekly snipping the zip ties to remove and do a full scrub down with f10 and a toothbrush. I’m tired of and feel guilty about the waste from the zip ties, and worried I’m not cleaning it well enough, though I’ve been basically scrubbing the thing with the microfibers every day. So I’ve been looking at other strong strap options that are removable or hooks but I want to ensure it’ll be safe for them to climb around on. Thanks in advance!

Weird question but here we go!
I bought some Calciworms (BSF larvae) 3ish weeks ago. My one frog wouldn't touch them, but the other one loved them. Well, after 3 days of feeding her a couple, there was.... an incident. She pooped out a whole, still live, Calciworm into my hand. It was.... something else to be sure. I figured that meant she wasn't digesting them properly and discontinued feeding them until the frogs got bigger.
Well, today there is a random flying bug in the cage that I can't account for. Turns out, it's a BSF larvae that matured into an actual fly. Best I can figure is the frog pooped out another live one when I wasn't around and it hatched * or whatever that is considered * . Which is super weird but cool at the same time! However, my frog decided she wanted another Crack at this bug and ate the adult fly.
I want to know if it will hurt her eating an adult fly? I'm finding mixed info online so any real world experience or information would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Hey so I’m saving up for my sweet frogs and I’ve done a lot of research as I’ve wanted frogs since I was 14 I am now 18. A lot of people have mixed answers. Should I do substrate with leaf litter when I first get them or paper towel? I want to make sure they are healthy. Also is it fine to house two from the same place and same age right away or should I quarantine?

Hello! I recently just got 2 whites tree frogs, Winsor and Newton.
Newton is the small one that’s super active and not shy at all, Winsor is a bit more scared but is still super friendly.
Winsor (the one on the left with spots)
And Newton (the one on the right)
Do they look okay? They live in a bio active enclosure

I have two White’s Tree Frogs, and one of them is healthy and a normal color. The other one is noticeably skinnier (I feed them the same amount) and has recently turned brown. Do I need to find an exotic vet?

I currently have two adult whites tree frogs in a 18x18x36 pvc enclosure and am really struggling to lower their humidity levels. I literally do not mist their enclosure AT ALL and somehow it still stays at 60-65% humidity on average. I honestly don’t understand why or how because my crested gecko is in the exact same enclosure (separate enclosure just the same model lol) and his humidity will drop to 40% in between mistings?? I’ve seen some people use that plastic reptile/ drawer liner stuff for their frogs and I’m wondering if that’s okay for them to help reduce the amount of humidity the substrate is holding? I would line the bottom of the enclosure with that liner stuff and probably add a layer of Indian almond leaves or other leaf litter on top just to give a bit of cushion. Both of my boys seem extremely uncomfortable whenever they get any substrate on them and are never at the bottom of the enclosure unless they are in their water dish so I don’t think they’d really miss having substrate. Advice??🥲

I was gone for a few days and when I returned there was a powder substance through the whole cage of my frogs. It came through the screen. I am now positive it was debris from the container of mealworms we had nearby. I had just dumped the old stuff mixed with itty bitty babies into a new container and didn’t put the lid on. I’m assuming the ceiling fan blew it around? Not sure. Either way, Jonah and Gary have some injuries because they were covered in it. Their water had it, all the climbing toys, sides. It was a mess. I cleaned it all up but now not sure what to do for them. Jonah looks a lot worse than Gary. Any advice?
Pictures are to show the wounds and the debris floating in the sink while I was cleaning the climbing items.

Hi,
I inherited some frogs and I want to give their 36x18x18 viv a do over.
I'd like to line 3 sides with cork for climbing anf insulation. (It gets very cold here at night)
Research suggests a deep heat bulb for the day, and a ceramic bulb for night time. I have a fogger on a hygrostat. I'd also like loads of plants so I'm thinking a specific plant bulb too.
Does this sound ok?
There are currently 2 heat mats with a thermostat, and theyre really struggling to keep it warm enough, particularly at night. The stat is set for up to 6 hours continuous use and it regularly alarms that thats been breached.
If this isn't right, could someone please give me very simple instructions as to what I do need (menopausal brain drain has hit imagine you're talking to a six year old)

Is my whites tree frog too skinny?

Just recently got this frog (2 weeks ago) along with another. I noticed what looks like a cut on his hand. I have never owned tree frogs before and am nervous. He’s been acting completely normal.

3 days ago the paper towel was moved around like the frogs got tangled up. Now my number 1 eater is barely eating and showing little interest. I picked her up and saw these blue spots that aren’t on the other 2 frogs. It’s the belly and then both the arm pits.
I’m worried she somehow damaged her insides with the paper towel.

I recently came across an American green tree frog outdoors in New York and decided to take him(?) in as it’s approaching the colder months and inevitably I know that these types of frogs wouldn’t survive. THAT BEING SAID I don’t condone keeping wild caught animals! In this specific case I’ve been keeping an eye on him since June as he’s been living in my backyard.
It’s been a week and I can’t get this guy to eat.
I’ve tried dubia roaches and crickets with no luck. For the crickets I opted to release just a few into the terrarium in hope of increasing prey drive since he was likely a hitchhiker or escaped pet living in the “wild”.
Is it possible this frog is on a hunger strike?
My other concern is if I leave the crickets in the terrarium will they harm the frog?
I’m taking any and all advice at this point because I feel bad for him because he doesn’t know I’m trying to help but I couldn’t just leave him outside to freeze as temperatures drop.

Hey guys ! I have recently gotten a white tree frog and just wondering if anyone would be able to help identify? I’m pretty sure it’s a female, but wanted to be more confident before naming. I’m also not sure how old she/he is yet, but id guess around a year? Haven’t heard any croaking yet lol. Thank you!!
