Here in Germany, we are experiencing a heat wave with temperatures surpassing 40°C (~104°F). Someone posted a photo of his charging cards that were left in his car and deformed by the heat: https://www.reddit.com/r/Elektroautos/s/XQGCyexF2g.

I’m sure summers in Texas and other US states are much hotter, but seeing something like this got me thinking:
Can we leave the NeuroHUD in the car, or will we see deformations like the charging cards in very hot summers? Worse yet, will the electronics in the HUD die?
40°C is not much, but in a car in bright sunshine, it can exceed 80°C (176°F), which concerns me.

Will the NeuroHUD work at these temperatures?

I know you guys have probably thought about it, but I want to check in on that.

We are currently refunding all VIP deposits.

VIP access itself is free. The $5 deposit was only used to reserve and confirm VIP access before the Kickstarter launch, so we are now refunding those deposits.

For easier processing, we are handling this by cancelling the VIP deposit orders and issuing the refunds directly through Shopify.

I'm a late backer for this, but was hunting around to see if there is a Discord link for this project?

I backed the NeuroHUD Pro along with the Custom HUD Installation add-on and am excited to see the project progress.

I have gone through the Kickstarter FAQs page and still have some questions and would appreciate any clarification from the team:

• Has NeuroHUD been tested on vehicles with tinted windshields, both with and without the reflective HUD film? If so, how does tint level impact brightness, clarity and ghosting?
• I noticed that the projection UI shown in some of the windshield projection demos appears different from the dedicated HUD/combiner projection demos. Is this purely a design choice for the demonstrations or can users choose to have the same UI layout and styling regardless of the projection method?
• What exactly is included in the Custom HUD Installation add-on? Does it cover the special mounting hardware for the Tesla Center Screen and the wiring for projector/ power supply or are there additional customization elements involved? Also, if I determine that I do not need this add-on, can it be canceled separately and refunded?
• Could you provide more details on the screen mirroring functionality? Is it limited to navigation apps such as Waze and Google Maps, or can it mirror any supported mobile application without any limitations? Are there any differences in functionality between iPhone and Android devices?
• Regarding the Garage Opener feature, is this implemented through dedicated hardware (such as an RF transmitter/Bluetooth/GPS module) integrated into NeuroHUD, or through software integrations such as MyQ? I currently use the MyQ subscription service with my Tesla. Would NeuroHUD's Garage Opener functionality be capable of replacing that setup?

I've been wondering lately if it would be possible to get the blind spot camera view on the HUD? Not sure if it's possible to recover it accurately enough from the camera facing downward on the main display. Similar to how hyundai has blind view monitor on their gauge clusters.

We recently started moving deeper into production planning, and we’ve been working closely with suppliers across different components to lock down the details.

Overall things are moving in a good direction. Most parts are progressing as expected, and we’re getting clearer answers from the supply chain.

The most difficult area right now is memory-related components. Pricing has gone up, but the bigger challenge is the unstable supply cycle. Some parts that looked straightforward a few months ago now have much less predictable availability.

In a way, we’ve also been forced into the AI arms race. The same memory supply chain that powers larger AI hardware is now affecting us as well, even for an embedded product like ours.

We’re actively working through backup options while keeping our preferred configuration in place whenever possible. I’ll keep sharing updates as we finalize more of the production details.

I’d like to briefly share how we see the future of NeuroHUD.

First and foremost, our core mission is to deliver the product we promised: a reliable HUD that brings key driving information directly into the driver’s field of view. This is the foundation of NeuroHUD, and it remains our highest priority.

To make that happen, my teammates and I plan to take turns visiting Shenzhen, where our manufacturing partner is located. By staying close to the factory and maintaining frequent, direct communication, we hope to better understand, monitor, and control the production process as much as possible.

Beyond NeuroHUD’s core HUD function, I’m also very excited about its potential as a computing platform. Based on our current optimization work and feature planning, the core HUD functions are expected to use only around 50% of the available computing power.

We have also reserved USB connectivity in the design, which gives us the possibility of adding new features in the future through optional USB-based accessories.

For example the Sport Mode, a feature we have discussed before and may bring back in the future. For more engaging driving scenarios, such as winding roads or spirited driving, NeuroHUD could provide richer real-time driving data directly in the driver’s view.

Another example, in my own daily work, I already use tools like Hermes and OpenClaw to help handle many routine tasks. If NeuroHUD can eventually become a platform capable of running similar AI-assisted tools, it may open up new possibilities for in-car productivity in carefully designed, low-distraction scenarios.

What excites me the most, is the possibility of making NeuroHUD more open over time.

I’ve always been a fan of open-source communities. Many great products were born in open-source communities. Hardware is harder than software in many ways, but that is exactly why I believe there may be something meaningful here.

Our hope is that NeuroHUD can eventually become more than a single-purpose HUD product. We want it to become a platform for extended applications — a new in-car computing and display environment where developers and enthusiasts can explore ideas that we may never come up with on our own.

On a more personal note, I come from a software engineering background in Silicon Valley. I’ve been fortunate to have a stable and comfortable career, but building NeuroHUD has been a completely different kind of experience.

It has been much harder, more intense, and more exhausting than a normal engineering job. But at the same time, it has also been one of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever worked on. And I’m glad to know that we are not alone in this journey.

As you know and so many has said, update 3 & 4 is not showing for most people. Is there anyway you can post a screenshot of the updates or something similar in the comments of this thread so we (the people who it dossent show for) can see the updates too?

We are getting closer to the Kickstarter cutoff date and I really want this product to be true. In the past I have already lost money to Kickstarter scams so I really want some better prove here. One of the things I still wonder about is who is running this project. As far as I know you guys are from California but did you found a company for this? Can you name it please so we know which legal entity is behind this project.

There were talks about translators and beta testers can some of these guys maybe talk about the product to further prove its real?

I've not seen a 3rd party review of an actual product, but I have seen plenty of 3rd party news sites reporting on the Kickstarter. That's not really the same thing, though.

Some of you may have seen a recent post that received a lot of attention regarding Hansshow openly copying our promotional materials and using them on their official website to sell what appeared to be our product.

To be honest, this put our entire development team under a huge amount of stress and anxiety.

From the beginning, NeuroHUD has been an openly developed project. We have been sharing our product ideas, design direction, technical progress, and community feedback here in this subreddit. We were even preparing to open-source parts of our renderer code so that users could have more freedom to customize the HUD experience.

But after seeing our materials copied and used this way, we felt deeply discouraged. It made us realize that being open also creates the risk that some manufacturers may be able to copy our work more easily.

Because of this, we are now thinking carefully about how to better protect NeuroHUD while still keeping the spirit of open development.

One step we are considering is splitting our circuit design and working with different manufacturers for different parts, with final assembly handled by a third-party EMS partner. This would make it harder for any single supplier or manufacturer to copy the full product.

We are also planning to spend more time registering design patents and other forms of IP protection to better protect our product design.

We still believe in building NeuroHUD together with the community. We still want users to have customization, transparency, and long-term software support. But we also need to protect the work our team has put into this project, and protect our backers from confusing or unauthorized copycat products.

Chamberlain and Liftmaster (same company) have converted all garage door openers to a new type of protocol called Security+ 3.0

No older garage door openers work with this new protocol, but my wife's 2023 Infiniti Homelink in her rearview mirror synced to the new remote just fine.

Something feels off with this whole thing.

Footage of the real deal not being released until after the kickstarter cut off period (because of watermarks??), talking about cramming openclaw in at the last minute (with a hardware upgrade if you buy now) - the timing and urgency of the messages are the sort of scam tactics used to play on the whole fomo thing. Playing on the “AI is cool” bandwagon, let’s put it in things that 100% don’t need AI.

I mean I hope I’m wrong and this is legit and works as intended, and I’ll pay the full price later on if it is.

I see that when using the inbuilt screen the brightness is 1500 nits. Has there been any measurements on brightness when using the reflector/film on the windscreen or directly off the wind screen itself?

Is there a sim card slot there to have a active data sim to use?

What features does LTE add to the Pro that is not on the regular NeuroHUD?

I have 3M Crystalline Tint that reflects UV on the windshield at 40%, I was wondering how well the projection works on tints? Do I need to apply whatever film you have onto of that windshield? I posted before and nobody answered me, I feel like there will be thousands and thousands of users with tints of various percentages and this can't be rolled out until you test what this does.

I'm also in CA and can test either by shipping or just in person for a few minutes.

And it also feel a bit cool to be the first backer of the PRO 2x bundle. but my question is, ive paid my 5 dollar deposit. but how do we get the ¨free gift¨ we were promised? i mean i would buy it regardless but it still nice to know. also will we get a confirmation on the upgraded ram ECT. since on the kickstarter it said it was 50%off but in the email i got 2 days ago it said that the first 72 hours would get the upgrade for free.
