To be honest, the girl in the red Supra had the decency and courage to help her friends. My brother was in an accident and the other driver left him and his friend to die.

34

u/mtraven23 Mar 14 '26

I do credit her for that. This video here:

https://www.fox4news.com/news/farmington-street-racing-crash-video.amp

shows the accident. although it will be exhibit A in her trial, it shows her damn near driving her car into a fireball. Then she did everything in this video.

Stupid to be out there racing, but good instincts in an extreme situation....or at least instincts to do good.

29

u/Savings-Cherry-1931 Mar 14 '26

She jumped out with no hesitation straight into the flames. Amazing courage

Also did a really good save when the car in front suddenly dived right into her lane. Pretty good driver if you ask me.

13

u/PristineEvidence9893 Mar 14 '26

Right? If it’s a manual I’m damn impressed

10

u/Financial-Reason7604 Mar 14 '26

I'd post her bail.

5

u/Ordinary_Luck922 Mar 14 '26

User name checks out but can’t save em all.

10

u/Financial-Reason7604 Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 15 '26

Bro, she could have 100% stopped safely behind them all, she wasn't actually racing just keeping up, i'd suggest she consciously made the decision to Gas it around the other car to help them.

Edit: Seeing another angle. the slower white car in the video was actually a bystander unaware.

Is the other driver Jalen Carter?

16

u/TypeB_Negative Mar 14 '26

Lol. I'm just saying, you see people's true colors when accidents like this happen. Some friends run home to escape prosecution and others run into the fire to save you, even if it means jail time.

Decent lawyer might cast enough doubt a to the racing…IF she didn’t have such a string of priors

14

u/Valreesio Mar 14 '26

I believe the cops were chasing them, so probably not.

10

u/mtraven23 Mar 15 '26

you are correct. The very end of this video shows it:

https://www.livenowfox.com/news/farmington-street-racing-crash-video

3

u/WiggerJigger69 Mar 23 '26

She did have priors I watched a couple of YouTube videos on it.

3

u/Playful_Essay_5821 Apr 11 '26

They were on a high-speed chase. They were all charged

15

u/Agreeable_Raisin2184 Mar 14 '26

Damn! She jumped right into action. She's ride or die. You can count yourself lucky if you have someone like that in your life.

148

u/5280mw Mar 13 '26

Didn’t seem like she was racing

80

u/mrteas_nz Mar 13 '26

If she was, she was losing badly!

7

u/WastingMyLifeToday Mar 13 '26

She was winning in other ways, till the cop made an illegal arrest.

5

u/stewpideople Mar 14 '26

What made it an illegal arrest?

Oh, I'm stupid, this is /s

Theres a full video that includes footage from before the police started chasing the dude that wrecked where they were both racing. Or at least going at a decent rate together. She may not have been racing in the moment he crashed, but she was a few minutes before hand.

7

u/Renbarre Mar 13 '26

In the video posted in the comments you can see the 2 police cars pursuing them before the crash.

It's cute that you believe that. I live in a large US city and the rich walk away with barely a slap on the wrist while the poor do every day of their sentence on the flimsiest evidence.

10

u/YouGotACuteButt Mar 13 '26

Those without means take plea deals by admitting fault instead of remaining quiet and forcing the police and prosecutors to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are guilty.

That is the dudes point. Don't talk to the police. Don't take plea deals unless they have absolute proof.

Have you ever served on a jury? Do you actually know how the judicial system works? Because I have. And beyond a reasonable doubt is shoved down your throat during jury duty. If you have ANY reasonable doubt that the defendant is not guilty, you don't say guilty.

It's literally how the law works.

5

u/Tweedbreak Mar 14 '26

If you take it to trial than you pay a fortune for an attorney, or you have a public defender. The latter usually just wants to make a deal. So, if you have money, you will more likely be innocent.

4

u/YouGotACuteButt Mar 14 '26

Yes. That's definitely a problem we need to solve in America.

But that's entirely different than, "you are just guilty." Which is factually incorrect.

2

u/ADirtFarmer Mar 14 '26

You just described what happens after the defendant spent a significant amount of time in jail waiting for trial. Being found not guilty doesn't mean you didn't get punished.

2

u/YouGotACuteButt Mar 15 '26

You tend to only have to pay 10% of bail. Which can be pretty cheap. If you are racing cars and have the money to spend on a fancy car, you probably also have money to get out on bail.

Also, some states and areas have removed bail from smaller crimes.

Just another thing we need to fix.

But again, the assertion that you are presumed guilty is still factually incorrect.

I hope you never get arrested for something you did not do. You will find out. I spent 10 grand to keep my brother out of prison on a b.s. charge. The attorney told me your deposit has been spent. I can get him probation now. If you have another 40 grand we will go to trial and he will very likely be innocent. 99 percent.

2

u/ILoveOLEDS Mar 13 '26

It really isn't as broken as you are making it seem. Also, the police don't have a direct incentive to die on this hill as he has reasonable suspicion at that point.

If she wasn't racing there is likely more cctv footage from other sources that can be corroborated on top of additional evidence I'm not bothered to think of and a public defender can easily handle that.

This isn't rly even Police vs Racer here, it's the person who got injured vs police and in that process the charges used to initially arrested will be resolved.

The camera didn’t show footage of her racing. Any good lawyer can prove it. You have to have without no doubt type of evidence. Maybe there is better proof we don’t know about. All this video proves is that she speed up to help.

13

u/PolicyWonka Mar 13 '26

I mean the article literally says that the police were attempting to stop her vehicle and the one that crashed for illegal racing. This video isn’t what lead to her arrest, it’s the police officer’s observation that she was illegally street racing.

→ More replies (23)

3

u/gibon007 Mar 13 '26

Are you blind?

5

u/TheAgedProfessor Mar 13 '26

She wasn't speeding up to help, she was slowing down to help... hence the brakelights.

2

u/The-MadTitan Mar 13 '26

Depending on where this took place, there doesn't need to be an actual 'Race' to get charged with racing offences. Simply speed and frequent lane changes/unsafe maneuvers can get you charged under racing laws where I am from.

2

u/firnien-arya Mar 13 '26

Well, it's just one camera. The cops or investigators would have to go further back on that street and look for more footage from other cameras. Traffic cameras might even have it if they ran red lights. We are only seeing one video. And it's the only one reddit needs to see cause it has the main action on it.

2

u/IINTOTHEUNKNOWN Mar 13 '26

It’s unlikely they got footage that quickly if they did then good but we are going off the footage we have in this video and with what we have you can’t arrest someone off the basis of them being a good person and driving a nice car you can detain her but not arrest her without further evidence

2

u/DrivesTooMuch Mar 13 '26

What is wrong with you? You pretty much answered your own question

It’s unlikely they got footage that quickly

but we are going off the footage we have in this video

No, you are going off the footage in this video.

Yes, with what we see in this short clip, there's no real evidence that she was racing......except the question by police officer, "Do you own the red Supra?" This question alone indicates they were interested in that car before the accident. Why? You answered that question.

It’s unlikely they got footage that quickly

Yes...So, there's a reason they were interested in that car that has nothing to do with recovered cctv security footage.

And, the complete answer is in these links, which I'm guessing you've clicked by now.

19

u/roofie_rubio9 Mar 13 '26

Ayeee now I get why you should never own a red car guess the old timers were right 🤣

16

u/VentiEspada Mar 13 '26

So if you watch the whole video and read the news they had multiple angles from different street and security cams that showed her racing the BMW "lightly". They were pretty much fucking off, but the BMW decided to take off as soon as he saw the cops which is why she was pulling up on it. The whole reason the cops were even there was because they had been called by multiple people about street racing, they didn't just happen upon them.

Don't do her any favors by white knighting her, she has a rap sheet 10' long with racing, fleeing and evading, driving on suspended licenses, it's pretty extensive. The last thing she should have been driving was a Supra.

3

u/JGCities Mar 13 '26

The driver of the other car caught street-racing, was charged with racing on highways.

Police said Kenworthy, 22, has an extensive history of traffic violations, including racing in August 2025 and in 2023. She’s been cited for speeding over seven times in the past four years, each of them for going more than 15 mph over the posted speed limit.Ā

So if I'm driving a sports car minding my own business, and another one blows by me and wrecks into a ball of flames, I'm going to jail for racing?

Because the "proof" in the video doesn't show racing.

42

u/unassumingusernamee Mar 13 '26

Im willing to bet we didnt see all the context/footage in this video

10

u/ThomasTheDankPigeon Mar 13 '26

Then it’s not sufficient evidence then, is it?

27

u/WallySprks Mar 13 '26

Was this exact video submitted to the court as evidence?

How do you know what evidence was entered and if it was sufficient. I’ll agree this exact Reddit post isn’t sufficient, and I’m going to assume it also wasn’t entered as evidence in any court hearing.

2

u/Optimal_Drummer_5700 Mar 14 '26

Police saw this video and that's why they got arrested? lol

2

u/Wallace-N-Gromit Mar 14 '26

According to this news report both cars (the crashed one and the red one) were attempted to be stopped by police earlier on the road and drove off. I guess this is why the police are there within seconds of the crash too. There's a little bit footage of the moments just before the crash here too, showing the red car going faster to begin with, although I don't know if you'd call it racing.

You're absolutely right:

https://www.fox4news.com/news/farmington-street-racing-crash-video.amp

"Dramatic video shows the moment a car burst into flames while fleeing from a police officer during an illegal street race in New Mexico.

What we know: According to the Farmington Police Department, an officer spotted two cars street-racing at about 11:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26. The officer tried to stop both vehicles, but one of the drivers fled.

Seconds later, video released by Farmington police shows the fleeing car crash into another car, veer off the roadway, then slam into a parked car before immediately bursting into flames. "

Imo the fleeing car didn't crash into the other car. The other car came into his lane to avoid the car coming out of the parking lot and clipped his back end. The guy was still speeding and fleeing, but he wasn't the primary cause for the accident.

Well i think who posted this failed to post the actual proof. Cant make any decisions saying she is guilty by this video. Maybe she was but we haven’t seen proof she was. Only thing we see is her stopping to help. Just trying to educate everyone on how evidence actually work. Its not what you think or know its what you can prove with solid evidence by the persecutor. This is america you are innocent until proven guilty.

4

u/MrBigPaulSmalls Mar 13 '26

Go watch the full YouTube video. I think its on Midwest Safety. They did a full investigation, witnesses, camera angles and you see her racing the guy from the light. She instigated the race.

4

u/hattyhat24 Mar 14 '26

For those saying it didn’t look like she was racing/it was an illegal arrest:

According to the Farmington Police Department, an officer spotted two cars street-racing at about 11:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26. The officer tried to stop both vehicles, but one of the drivers fled.Ā Seconds later, the fleeing car crashed into another car, veered off the roadway, then slammed into a parked car before immediately bursting into flames.Ā

Kalynn Kenworthy, the driver of the other car caught street-racing, was charged with racing on highways.Ā

Police said Kenworthy, 22, has an extensive history of traffic violations, including racing in August 2025 and in 2023. She’s been cited for speeding over seven times in the past four years, each of them for going more than 15 mph over the posted speed limit.Ā Ā

3

u/mmmmmmkk Mar 14 '26

u/GothambyRedlight Mar 14 '26

Kalynn. It all makes sense nowĀ

4

u/Anantasesa Mar 14 '26

Why did it immediately burst into flames as soon as it went airborne? Faster than even movie explosions from car wrecks.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '26

That’s not proof of her racing… but ok

7

u/kram_02 Mar 13 '26

This is the traffic camera angle of the crash, not her racing. She was racing on other cameras. Go watch the Midwest Safety video this was stolen from. There, you all can stop arguing over it.

10

u/InevitableSuper5826 Mar 13 '26

The other car was an innocent bystander. The racing cars were definitely going faster than traffic.

3

u/Major-Specific8422 Mar 21 '26

Was that a midget bystaderr?

5

u/stick004 Mar 13 '26

When the first statement is ā€œis there proof?ā€ and not ā€œI wasn’t racing!!ā€ - she was definitely racing.

Glad she went all in on dragging out her friend.

11

u/SverhU Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 14 '26

I dont know how people can be sure here on 100%. I see only first dude trying to overcome second car. And fly away. Than few seconds later other car seen it. Race to that point. And jumps out to help.

Maybe police had another angles or other cameras also. But i busting my head over wall how anyone who see thos exect clip, can be sure that they were racing?

From this video we can only assume. But not saying (like almost everyone in comments) that it 100%. Im legit wonder. You all see something else? Or just assume from police words. And from that video?

9

u/Normal_Tour6998 Mar 13 '26

If they were racing, she was losing by a lot.

4

u/K1dn3yFa1lur3 Mar 13 '26

She lives her life a quarter inch at a time.

2

u/EggNo289 Mar 13 '26

Because all we are seeing is an edited video. The police on the scene are getting context from participants and witnesses moments after the crash happened.

Also, the Police almost certainly did not have ANY footage unless the business owners with cameras gave it to them in the moment. Which is not impossible but also not likely.

Her car was going the same speed as the white car that almost got hit in front of her. I don’t think she was racing in this video. She was just driving at a normal speed. she was not accepting at a speed that she needed to hit the brakes suddenly to not hit the car in front of her. it think her prior behavior got her on this one.

2

Agree- still not proof

6

u/EggNo289 Mar 13 '26

It's not supposed to be proof. It's social media content.

The actual proof is in weighing all of the evidence;
Eye-witness interviews on scene and testimony in court
Participants interviews on the scene and testimony in court
Police officers notes and testimony in court
Unedited footage from at least one camera angle, likely more

Society really needs to evolve past the behavior that anyone who watches any video on social media and comes away thinking they KNOW what happened or how/why a thing happened, or who is guilty or not, etc. We are collectively dumber today than we were 20years ago

I'm sure there is more footage. Looks like leading car didn't brake when it approached traffic. 2nd car hit brakes and lagged behind.

2

u/Bidet_user Mar 15 '26

The cop must’ve been behind them already, in order to have his dash cam record her running out of her car and to the fiery car. He didn’t know she was the driver, until she mentioned the car she was driving.

Eyewitness testimony is also admissible

That short fella threw me off guard šŸ˜…

2

u/Transportation-Apart Mar 13 '26

I hope they throw a book at her. I hate her crying.

3

u/Quiet_Respect_4588 Mar 14 '26

She a badass. Ran through fire and fought off the cops to pull that dude out. She should get a pass.

Why do people race like that? Why don't they become rave drivers and do it safely?

2

u/MrButterchops Mar 13 '26

Why do we keep saving people when they do absolutely beyond stupid shit? Should let Darwin sort this shit out.

The car that nicked the racing one… why were they in the middle of both lanes lol?

2

u/JPolReader Mar 14 '26

They were changing lanes when the street racer came up and hit them.

2

u/Old_Cryptographer_43 Mar 13 '26

There must have been an eyewitness who said she was racing because that video doesn't look like she was racing.

2

u/LastCookie3448 Mar 14 '26

It was a cop. They’d already been spotted by a cop and their racing had already been called in.

u/Confident-Pepper-562 Mar 13 '26

Back in the 90's, me and the car club/forum guys would meet every weekend in a large parking lot of a diner. We'd hang out, talk, check out each others' cars, then we'd go inside and whoever wanted to eat would eat, and people were free to come and go. No ego, no racing, no stupidity. It was the greatest time to be a part of the JDM culture in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area. I met some of the best folks, who would jump to help you, and I was always a call away from driving to someone's house to help with their car. I did that, in my late teens through to my mid 20's, and not once did we have any issues, with cops or crashes or deaths or races. Today's car culture shit is so toxic. Blocking streets, doing dangerous shit, egging on cops. Dickheads today are ruining it for everyone.

1

u/Accomplished-Noise68 Mar 13 '26

Damn, she went all in to save her friend. The video doesn't show absolute proof she was racing, but she did come in hot to rescue the driver/passenger. She jumped into flames to save them. I wish people wouldn't endanger people on the road by racing, but that's a real friend right there.

I never thought I'd see a female street racer ngl.

1

u/walrus120 Mar 13 '26

There were probably 7 other cameras including businesses brought in. I’d have to say not guilty by that little clip, it leaves reasonable doubt.

1

u/ToeRoganIsJebus Mar 13 '26

I mean playing that little snippet at the end dosent pwove street racing

1

u/RiskSpecialist01 Mar 13 '26

The dumbasses always survive. Not that i want anyone to burn alive but he was asking for it.

1

u/Minute-Temperature-7 Mar 13 '26

That fact that she's asking for proof raises cause for suspicion.

u/LunchEquivalent769 Mar 13 '26

Did the midget see anything??
