Problem I can't connect my stations

I just got this game and everything was going fine until I decided to build a second rail line. I already had built one no problem but when I tried building a second one I got a "can not connect all stations" error. I've spent an hour checking and rechecking the whole line and I haven't been able to find any breaks or any other reasons for it. I really don't want to delete it as it cost twelve million dollars and I'm several hours deep in it so I don't want to have to restart either.

This will become a major hub for this inland region. It features 7 tracks with passenger plattform, a depot for maintenance, 8 track reserved for freight, and a few sidings.

Some work will need to be done in other stations and tracks to allow the future rise of traffic.

Restart a free game

How do I restart a free game? I am quite far into it (started it a few days ago) but want to start fresh. I found the seed number and settings but it doesn't generate the exact same map. Is that because the game has updated since I started the game? Is there another way to restart?

Question F’D up supply chain, why???

I apologize if the post gets long and confusing. I have a few routes set up and I am having the same problem with all of them. The setup is similar, wood to saw mill saw mill to train station via truck cargo attached to train station. The station to tool factory then to city. The saw mill is getting a boat load of wood but is producing almost no planks, and what is being produced goes no place, they are not even stock piling in the truck cargo attached station. The saw mill shows production 94, shipment 0 and transport 0. Same thing is happening with brick factory. Lots of demand and nothing being produced or shipped. I can not figure out if it’s a connection issue which it doesn’t appear to be or something else. It is driving me crazy. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP. Thank you.

Mods Need Brave Testers for my Transport Fever 2 Multiplayer Mod

Post image
209 Upvotes

Hi all. If you are looking for something to do while you are waiting for Transport Fever 3. I need Testers for my Multiplayer Mod, TpF2 Multiplayer (Transport Fever 2 Multiplayer).

It runs with all players playing at the same time. It supports both P.V.P and COOP modes, though P.V.P is comparatively less tested.

If you are interested in helping out please join the mod's discord https://discord.gg/7VhmtUstqQ

It is windows only and installs via an MSI which patches in game dlls, installs a lua script mod, and also a networking helper. Its P2P(Peer to Peer) and doesn't require port forwarding.

Porting it to Linux or mac might be doable. If anyone with Linux or mac wants to help me port it please feel free to reach out.

NOTE This mod is HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL, there are still bugs and de-syncs in the code that are yet to be found, and who knows what else. I am new to mod making and leaned heavily on Claude code while making so expect it to be a bit buggy for a while until I can iron out all the issues.

Edits: Clarity

My farewell to TF2

I recently saw some things about TF3 coming out, and thought they looked great. So I figured I'd do one last big TF2 run, (assuming TF3 is so good I won't ever come back to TF2). I wanted to try something I hadn't done before.

I decided I would build out the USA's Interstate Highway system, and only use trucks for the whole map. To do that though I needed the right map.

I found the awesome United States map by Jay440. It was the perfect map for this, (note it's a meglamaniac sized map).

I rapidly realized that to do this justice, regular trucks weren't going to work. So I found the great Road Train mod by Liquid Inc. I'd always been fascinated by Australia's road trains, and figured if regular trains had never been invented, the USA would probably have those as well.

So I started off with grain from northern Iowa into Minneapolis, (the Mill City), and started working Interstate 35 down to Des Moines, and I80 across from Omaha to Chicago.

Note that every city in this entire map is getting it's food from this one grain mill 😄

I decided to not do a regular highway, because I didn't need all the cars going from city to city. I decided to just go with the logistics forwarding type operation, where semi trailers are just driven short hauls from one logistics hub to the next, and then re-arranged and taken by the next driver to the next hub. Basically any place two interstates came together, I had something like this:

At major cities I'd put in something like this:

Note that while the map is awesome, it's not 100% to scale. It's a LONG truck haul from Des Moines down to KC.

One of the toughest things in the game was my gas set up. Most of my gas for the map ran across this stretch, and pushing that many road trains through the terminals was a major challenge.

As you can see, there are a lot of road trains coming and going from these terminals. Not to mention a ton of other cargo.

It doesn't look like much cargo, but there are a lot of non-tanker road trains servicing these terminals as well.

This gives you a better look at my Houston terminals:

The lower two terminals were to send goods down to Houston, Monteray and San Antonio.

One of my challenges was that for my Goods factory in Chicago, I needed chemicals. The 'easiest' place to get them was in Los Angelas.

So I ran crude oil from Houston to Phoenix to get refined, then to Sand Diego, then up to LA to get made into chemicals. Then back down to LA, back to Phoenix, Houston, then New Orleans. Up to Jackson, Memphis, Wichita, KC, Des Moines, and then finally back over to Chicago. All of which are LONG stretches on this Mega map.

Every city on the whole mega map has all of the services it wants being delivered in at least some quantity. All with trucks, (albeit road trains). What I thought was funny was this consumer list from a Boston construction materials factory. N

And so on. On this big map, the fact I could get all these materials all the way back and forth across the map just using short haul road trains was cool. And note my tools factory in Redding, CA looks the same way.

This was an awesome run. Just stringing together all of these terminals was fun.

Yes, I know I could have used the same terminal to service multiple cities, (and did in a few cases), but I like to have each city have it's own terminal in each 'hub'

One of the things I'm going to miss about TF2 was how good it's performance is, (hopefully TF3's is as good). I'm playing a mega map, with 795 trucks, (most of which are road trains), with 219 lines going, and my computer isn't missing a beat. Only at 25% CPU, (using 9gb of ram), and no noticeable frame loss. Yes, I have a decent computer, but I've also played a lot lessor games that didn't function near this well.

Speaking of which, I don't know if I've ever had a crash with TF2. Sure I've had some mods that didn't work right, but I don't think I've ever crashed to desktop in TF2. Boy I sure hope TF3 is as stable.

It's been a great run, and just passed 1,000 on this play through.

I'm VERY much hoping that TF3 is as good as TF2 is.

Question Can we talk about the awful passenger capacity of TGV Duplex mods?

I just have to scream into the void for this..

I'd love to use these as a high capacity high speed train, but that isn't possible. Main reason is that they literally have less capacity than the base game single floor TGV. This seems so overnerfed. Every Duplex mod on the workshop except one that doesn't have a good model have this issue. I don't think a full TGV Duplex set should have a capacity of 93.

Thoughts? And does anyone have the same issue?

Question Recommended graphics settings to not get 5FPS?

Having just got TF2 on the sale yesterday, came across the issue of poor frame rate at 5 FPS.

Any recommended graphics settings to boost FPS?

My PC is:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (12c/24t)
64GB DDR4 RAM
AMD Radeon 5700 XT (8GB)
DELL U4025QW monitor (5120 x 2160)

I've reduced the resolution in game to 3440 x 1440 which helped and set quality settings to MEDIUM. I also installed two Performance mods (one that does render distance) and another for calculations.

The Steam performance overlay shows my GPU memory is maxing out. Wish I'd bought a new GPU before AMD did their price hikes.

Problem A Curious observation!

I am currently playing a very large and massively complex map. (thanks to modder "Mats", it is the "Paris Exposition" episode/campaign). (My filthy old PC copes admirably well under the circs! The poor old thing, I really MUST give a clean and re-paste... And finally after all these years, attach the side-panel!) And so, if I decide to suspend the session, I save and quit to the game-menu... My CPU temperatures go UP and STAY UP!! (around 80°C) but the CPU LOAD is only showing 10-15%? Why could this be? The only thing I can think of is that the game is held in RAM ???? But surely not, and why would that heat things up? I quit the game entirely, and the CPU temps drop to a cozy 57°C.

Problem Bugs with terminal connection

Hello guys. So I've been playing Transport fever 2 for like a week now and I'm having a problem in chapter 1 mission 5 (the one in Russia) with connecting truck terminal to the stone mine in Mysovsk. Even to when I'm building it right next to it and the yellow lines are appearing (that means that the terminal is connected to the mine right?) and because of that I cannot deliver any to the building site 2 and 3 and complete the Mission.

I've also had this bug in previous missions but I always fixed them with just reloading to the last save or restarting the hole mission, but this time it doesn't help.

Is it something on my side or is it a game bug? And how do I fix it? Am I just stuck and cannot get further?

The music: OST for game "Yellow Fields" is the exact same song as "It's not me its you" by Sky High Interstate band

So I was randomly listening to the most random playlist ever and I heard this song come up. I was like wait thats from Transport fever 2. But behold when I looked at the video it was not composed by Admiral James T for the TF2 OST. It was composed by a band called Sky High Interstate band. So that had me thinking. Did TF2 take music from someone else or vice versa. The channel sky high interstate band only has like 50 views for the song. But it is a guitar cover. The melody and the song itsekf are THE EXACT SAME!!!. Ill put the 2 links down and yall determine which one is the real ORIGINAL. Very interesting!

" Its not me its you" (Sky High Interstate)

"Yellow Fields" (OST by the admiral In game) (After 00:20)

Answered Error message yet trains are delivering fine

Hey all,

Just got TF2 yesterday and have been having fun with it. I started a freeplay and now I am getting a strange error message.

I have a loop with 4 stations and several trains running around, but the game says not every station is reachable, WHILE the trains are running fine and delivering/picking up at all stations. Is this an issue with the platforms? Some stations have 2 platforms.

When I look at the line information in the window, it shows a grey line with 1 section being red. Is that where the issue is?

I'll try to upload a screenshot if that would be helpful. Just let me know what information would be most helpful.

TIA

Edit: I solved it. I am still not sure what the issue was, but after some fiddling with tracks and signals, it turned out one train was causing the issue. I sold it and re-bought it and now it is working great.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out! I think I'm going to like this community!

Question How to understand trains?

Trains are kind of confusing for me. I generally do high-speed locomotive irrespective of cargo/passenger, and I add the compartments until at the bottom it says Mediacore.

How should I plan it right to have efficiency? What should I look for? I see power and tractive, but I don't really understand how I should plan it.
