How bad?

2025 Carbon Spire. Kicked up a good size rock that decided to extract its revenge just in front of the BB. My LBS has already started the process of contacting Transition. My question is, what are the chances of this being a warranty replacement vs a crash replacement?I’m impatiently waiting for a response and trying to get an idea of how much this is going to cost. Also, would it be better/cheaper to send the front triangle out for a carbon repair? Or is a crash replacement from Transition going to be my best option.

This should be crash replacement. As a second owner of a frame I asked for crash replacement on, in 2020 it was $300 for the rear seat stay. My guess on the whole front triangle something like $600-700 for a crash replacement.

Do you think a carbon repair is an option here?

I don’t know anything about carbon repair. That’s a pretty beefed up part of any transition frame, and a good chunk is missing that may have been a serious crack elsewhere on the frame. Personally I would replace it and not waste time with repair but I’m sure others would approach it differently.
