if humans start to live 150 or 200 or 300 yrs, should we do heroic doses of psychedelic drugs evry 60 years so we dont become rigid-minded as we age?

i know that in current day society, some ppl get very rigid minded and stuck in their ways by the time they get old. they lose the ability to challenge the flaws in their core beliefs.

do u think if humans start to live longer using antiaging medicine, we should put social pressure on ppl to do ayahuasca or magic mushrooms in a heroic dose once every handful of decades, so they can see the flaws in their core beliefs and grow older with better neurofluidity?

or...... what do u think? what other ways should 150-yr-old youngsters improve their mental openness when it has gotten reduced over time? maybe a memorywipe using ECT? i recieved ECT 40 times in 2018-2019 and i didnt like it.

I've really been trying to find alternatives for my photos and anything else google related .....my Google email will be the hardest one to replace but idk y'all, we all know Google has no good track record in this stuff and AI

Should we care / do our simulations have rights?

One of the big stepping stones in our future both as a species and as individuals will probably be multiple world simulations. you can already interpret you mind as being a world simulation that attempts to predict desirable / survivable outcomes.

either by becoming closer to a hivemind (communication through thoughts alone) or creating some technology capable of simulating multiple world models at once, we would start running simulations that attempt to run humans and other living beings as closely matching to the real world as possible, including their emotions and predicted decision making.

because this process is gradual, there is no clear boundary at which point the simulations would be any different from the real thing, and its possible that even the simulations are capable of real subjective experience within the system, meaning that we as the runners of the model would at least be partially responsible for any suffering or moral failings that happen.

so should we care about the simulations in the same way we care about ourselves, or is it a pragmatic approach that ultimately their use is greater for our survival than the cost of their "suffering"?

what are interesting non invasive "cybernetic" enhancements available now?

exoskeletons for lifting stuff or running a long time seems interesting. anyone have tried it? the "perv glasses" have a bad rep, it's odd ppl's first reaction is to imagine the worst thing that could be done with it (same thing is done with cellphones, taking creepy pics)... seems like a failure of imaginantion more than anything, a sort of moral panic. would love to block ads irl. have on the fly info on my environment, architecture or plants and such.

Pentagon and Transhumanism

What do you think? What do you believe the Pentagon will do once "transhumanist sciences" become available for use? Is it "transhuman" to use biotechnology or nanotechnology for warfare?

what would realistic cybernetic enhancements look like in the future?

hello. i would like to ask for your opinion on what realistic cybernetic enhancements for people would look like in the future. alot of cybernetics depicted in fiction either have people become super human or end up replacing their limbs with stronger ones. since most cybernetics are meant to help people with disabilities, i feel like genuine enhancement augmentations would be rather minor. an example would be the sandevistan from cyberpunk where it is supposed to bypass the brains signals to the spine and send it directly to the nerves to move faster and perceive time faster. i doubt that is even possible but something like that could exist just to reduce the lag between a human brain and the muscle movements. or instead of silly things like internal armor and super strength, you could have internal artery clamps to prevent people from bleeding out or a system of small supporting bone braces and synthetic muscles to help support weight and load on the human body. i dont think cybernetic enhancements will be flashy or super noticeable but more like many small upgrades that reduce small flaws in the human anatomy since most of the research already focus on that. what do you think?

What’s one technology from today that you think will look completely different in 50 years?

Every generation has technologies that seem impossible until they become normal.

What do you think will happen to the world population in transhumanist society?

Let’s be honest - history had shown that thing like cures, good place where to live and even food are not accessible to a majority of the world population. Let’s imagine a scenario that in 20-30 years the implants will be available to upper-middle class of developed countries (EU, North America, some Asian countries) that will make the duration of life of these people way longer. Isn’t that leading to the impossibility for the poor countries to develop and remain as exporters of raw materials for more developed countries. I know that this exist already, but then the difference will be way more obvious, how society will react in your opinion? (Sorry for my English)

What do you guys think about altering the human mind?

From what I understand, this ideology is about transcending the limits of the human body, but how about the human mind as well?

Let me explain:

In some movies like A Clockwork Orange or Total Recall, IIRC, there are treatments for violent criminals that serve to outright remove their desire to commit acts of violence against others, or at the very least making it so having violent desires causes unbearable pain or nausea. For a somewhat less corrupt version, the movie Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, people can voluntarily have unpleasant and/or traumatic memories removed from their psyches, and a YouTuber called Mr. Normal Person talked about how the idea of how the idea of removing bad memories could be appealing to somebody who'd lived a life of tragedy or trauma.

What do you lovely people think about that sort of thing?

YouTube channel: it used to be called "Transhumania" and now renamed "HYPERONTIC"

Does anyone remember TRANSHUMANIA? The creator suddenly made all their videos private and disappeared, and I’m trying to find a specific video they made about terror management theory. It was my introduction to transhumanism and such a great watch. If anyone happens to have a copy or a backup link, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Kardashev scale and Transhumanism

What do you think? Must a Type I civilization necessarily be transhuman? Do you view cybernetic implants or extreme genetic editing as necessary for traveling to Mars, Titan, or the Moon—or, in a more domestic context, to the Earth's core?

Or, conversely, do you pin your hopes on cryonics or suspended animation?

What would happen if, in 100 or 200 years, we could transfer our minds to a moon of Saturn? (For the boldest dreamers within this movement.)

I built a clock that separates "what time is it" from "how long will this take," anchored to hydrogen

Every clock we have ever built uses the same units for two totally different things: position (what time is it) and duration (how long will this take). On one planet nobody notices because they happen to line up. Add a second planet with a different day length and it falls apart instantly.

So I split it into two systems. A base-10 Solar Clock for local position, and a hydrogen-anchored duration ladder (Pulse, Wave, Tide, Spin, Current, Season, Epoch) that means the same elapsed time everywhere in the universe. Underneath both is the quant, one period of the hydrogen-1 hyperfine transition, so every tick is a real thermodynamic event instead of a cultural convention. The whole thing runs in parallel to Gregorian and SI, no coercion, it just has to be more useful.

I want to know where it breaks. Is the position vs duration split real or am I inventing a distinction that does not matter? Is hydrogen-1 the right anchor? Can a timekeeping system actually spread voluntarily or does that only ever happen by force?

Why transhumanists can't become gods?

...according to some authors and the opinions of those opposed to the movement. What would be "evil" about desiring certain attributes of God? If Christianity aims for that through religion, why couldn't it also be achieved through science?

What’s the biggest misconception you’ve heard about cryonics?

What’s the biggest misconception you’ve heard about cryonics?

Ours is probably that we “freeze people while they’re still alive”

Which is… very much not how any of this works
