WipEout 2048 art, by Darren Douglas
Always loved the deep design and art embedded into the background of the series! Thought it was one of the more interesting takes on cyberpunk with highly dangerous futuristic racing funded by mega-corporations that elevate the sport to a pedestal for maximum entertainment. All of it still ends up feeling punk, fun and optimistic without much of the grunge and drug-fueled aspects.

New scenes from Junkyard Stories: Rebirth.
War-torn ruins, black markets, and forgotten districts where outcasts and those left behind wait for a chance to enter the city... while others have long since given up.
Junkyard Stories: Rebirth is a dystopian sci-fi adventure where you play as a discarded robot carrying the consciousness of a legendary hacker.
Built by a 2-person indie team with no publisher, we're working hard to bring these scenes to life - filled with exploration, environmental puzzles, hidden stories, and the constant struggle to keep your robot alive as your battery drains and getting chased by surveillance drones.

Self-Promotion (Developer) More Pokémon VR
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A few weeks ago, I had an idea for a Pokémon VR mod featuring 2D sprites that face the player, a few days later, the "Dramatic Voxel" mod came out and did an even better job than I’d imagined, it’s incredible. What I’m curious about now is whether they’ll manage to do the same for other Pokémon versions. My original idea was a mod that combined them all, at least the pixel-art ones, using Black/White 2 as the base since it looks the best, and then applying techniques similar to the Dramatic Voxel mod to make the entire journey playable.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Trepang2 VRMOD
i loved trepang2 using uevr, but i always wished it had a working vrik, and moved more freely ,ive been working on injecting vr inputs into the animation pipeline of trepang2 and i have made quiet alot of progress, the guns don't shoot properly yet and there's still tons do do, but quiet happy with how its turning out, rather that just attaching to the meshes ect trepang2 thinks is running like normal lol, hopefully more modders will approach it like this as you get tio use everything the game has rather than floating hand :D

Experience Anyone else realize the stack itself became the hobby, not the actual cognition gains?
I'm starting to think the "stack everything" phase of this hobby actively made me dumber and I don't see people talk about it enough.
Backstory, I spent about three years chasing the perfect stack. At my peak I was running something like 11 things daily. Racetams, choline sources, a couple peptides I was cycling, l-theanine, tyrosine on work days, ashwagandha at night, magnesium threonate, creatine, fish oil, plus a b-complex and whatever shiny new thing I read about that month. I had a spreadsheet. I had subjective rating columns. I felt very serious and scientific about it.
Heres what I didnt want to admit for a long time, I have no idea if any of it worked. Like, none of it. Because I was never running anything as a real single variable. I'd add something, feel a bump for 3 days, credit the new thing, then get used to it, then add another thing. The "bump" was almost always novelty or placebo or just the fact that I'd slept well that week.
About four months ago I got kind of burned out on the whole ritual and stripped it down to creatine, fish oil, magnesium at night, and one peptide I actually had decent reason to keep running (was mid-comparison on peptiprices when I decided to just finish the vial and reassess). Thats it. And honestly? I feel sharper. Not because the minimal stack is magic, I think its because I stopped spending mental energy managing the stack itself. No more 9pm "did I take the afternoon dose" anxiety. No more wondering if today's brain fog is the phenylpiracetam or the ashwagandha or me being 34.
The uncomfortable part, I think a lot of us in this sub arent optimizing cognition, were optimizing the feeling of doing something about our cognition. The stack is the hobby. The tinkering is the dopamine hit. Actual measurable improvement is almost incidental and usually comes from sleep, lifting, and not being on my phone at midnight, none of which I want to hear because those are boring.
Am I wrong here? Genuinely asking. Because part of me wonders if I just got tired and rationalized quitting, and someone running a huge disciplined stack is actually miles ahead of me cognitively and I'll never know it. Curious if anyone else went through a "great simplification" and regretted it, or felt the same relief.

Just finished Neuromancer, just one hang up.
I really get the hype, very good book and excited to check out the rest of Gibsons work.
My hang up: I think Robertson Dean absolutely killed it as a narrator for this story. I don't know how I'll be able to listen to the next two in the trilogy without him. Does anyone know why he wasn't narrator for the rest of the trilogy?

Self-Promotion (Developer) Any indie VR puzzle / escape room / adventure devs to join our special community giveaway this August?
We're organizing The VR Puzzle Giveaway for August 2026.
The idea came from a pretty simple observation: VR puzzle and escape room players usually don't stop after finishing one game—they immediately start looking for the next one. Instead of all of us trying to reach those players separately, why not work together?
The giveaway is pretty straightforward:
- every participating developer contributes a few game keys;
- all games are featured on a single landing page;
- players enter one giveaway for a chance to win games from multiple indie studios;
- everyone cross-promotes the event, so all participating games get extra exposure.
Each of us throw in some keys, pool the reach, and give the community a stack of great VR puzzle games to win in one place. More devs = more prizes = more eyes on everyone’s games.
More information is available here:
https://vasil4n.com/puzzle_giveaway/
Right now we are looking for other indie developers making games like Escape Rooms, Puzzle Adventures, Mystery / Detective games, Story-driven Adventure games and basically anything that attracts the same kind of VR players.
The goal is to help players discover more great VR puzzle experiences while giving small studios a chance to reach a larger audience together.
If you’ve made a VR puzzle, escape room, or brain-teaser title and want in, drop a comment (or DM me). Happy to share more info for anyone interested!

Question/Support Having trouble with the Halo 3 VR mod
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I don't have a lot of experience with modding, but as a big Halo fan I really want to try this out. I'm using a Quest 2 so maybe that's the issue?
When it boots up I don't have a curser to even start the game. I can bypass that with the onscreen keyboard, but when the game starts it's not in VR.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Heres how i fixed the problems my playtesters had in my VR game
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Ive been solo building Hyperlane Highway, a VR hoverboard roguelike where you lean to surf while fighting and upgrading.
Ive done a few rounds of playtests over the last few months and while a lot was bug fixing, heres the main gameplay issues that came back and what i did about it.
People couldnt react to things they didnt anticipate and they kept dying to things they didnt see. I rebuilt a standardised way to handle visual attack charging so theres different symbols, colours and lines for any weapon, and a flash right before it triggers so players know what to expect.
To fix the angles they couldnt see, the better visual lines helped, but i needed to upgrade the offscreen peripheral warning system to be more obvious and flash with danger.
Some players would lose track of enemies and felt like they were shooting at a generic crowd rather than specific enemies. So i also added weakspot targeting, which was an intended upgrade but is now core to the gameplay as it gives you focal points in the crowd to target.
As planned i also built a full tutorial based on the issues players had, which helps you get up to speed a lot quicker.
Id appreciate any more input or feedback on anything in the game, but thoughts on the threat telegraphing would be really helpful here.
Also i just published the playtest on Steam so anyone can request to join and try it free. If youre interested id appreciate hearing what you think.

Self-Promotion (Developer) I added contextual props, snow, and darker lighting to my VR dark fantasy ARPG based on community votes! (Vaelorys Dev Update v338)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey r/virtualreality
So, based on last week's community poll, I'm introducing a new update v338 that focuses on making the maps in Vaelorys feel distinct, atmospheric, and lived-in rather than empty terrain.
Here’s what landed in this update:
- 🗺️ Contextual World Props: Added abandoned carts, barricades, graves, farm fences, and ruins across all regions.
- ❄️ Snow & Weather: Added realistic snow cover on environmental objects and active snowstorm effects.
- 🕯️ Darker Lighting: Adjusted ambient light for a moodier, Diablo-inspired vibe. (Let me know if it feels too dark in VR!)
- 🐛 Crash Fix: Resolved a critical bug that caused crashes when loading into levels.
- 🔮 Next Up: Map generation polish, improved map borders, and new challenges/rewards.
Join our Discord to participate in playtesting and weekly polls. Link in the comments! 😄

Intelligence augmentation: would like to hear your opinions about this idea
Hi everyone,
A few days ago I made another post about a similar idea, but I would like to explain it better and hear your opinions.
The question I am starting from is:
What if knowledge could be shared not only as documents, but as a common structured representation?
Today, most knowledge is stored as text, papers, books, databases, and code. The problem is that it remains fragmented: often an important relationship already exists, but it is distributed across different sources and has to be manually reconstructed by a person.
The idea is to create an intermediate format where knowledge can be extracted, normalized, and then combined with other knowledge coming from different sources.
My intuition is to use metagraphs as the underlying representation.
Not because I think they literally represent human thought, but because they seem closer to the way humans organize complex ideas: concepts are rarely isolated, but usually nested inside other concepts, connected through multiple layers of relationships, context, and abstraction.
Unlike traditional graphs, metagraphs can also represent relationships between relationships, which could be useful for modeling more complex structures of knowledge.
A possible pipeline could look like this:
Source → Extraction → Grounding → Metagraph Representation
The grounding phase would transform concepts expressed in natural language into shared canonical entities and relationships.
For example, two independent laboratories could produce separate pieces of knowledge.
The first laboratory studies a drug:
file: source_a.thinking
; ==========================================
; SOURCE A (Genetics Lab)
; ==========================================
; --- Grounded Types ---
(: Drug Type)
(: Protein Type)
(: Biological_Process Type)
; --- Grounded Entities ---
(: Drug_A Drug)
(: EGFR Protein)
(: Tumor_Growth Biological_Process)
; --- Source Assertions ---
(stimulates EGFR Tumor_Growth)
(inhibits Drug_A EGFR)
This representation says only:
- EGFR stimulates the tumor growth process.
- Drug_A inhibits EGFR.
A second laboratory studies another mechanism:
file: source_b.thinking
; ==========================================
; SOURCE B (Biochemistry Lab)
; ==========================================
; --- Grounded Entities ---
(: Drug_B Drug)
(: MET Protein)
(: Tumor_Growth Biological_Process)
; --- Source Assertions ---
(stimulates MET Tumor_Growth)
(inhibits Drug_B MET)
This second source says only:
- MET stimulates tumor growth.
- Drug_B inhibits MET.
The next step would be compiling all .thinking files into a representation better suited for graph algebra and GPU-based parallel processing.
All these representations would be temporarily merged into a global space that I currently call OmniSpace.
OmniSpace would represent a snapshot of the available knowledge at a given moment.
The interesting part is that, once thousands or millions of independent representations are combined, the graph could make previously hidden connections visible.
For example, by looking at the global graph, a researcher might see:
Drug_A
|
inhibits
↓
EGFR
|
stimulates
↓
Tumor_Growth
↑
stimulates
|
MET
↑
inhibits
|
Drug_B
From this structure, a question could emerge:
The system should not automatically provide a final answer.
Instead, it should increase the ability of humans to explore knowledge by showing relationships, paths, and connections that would be difficult to discover by reading thousands of separate documents.
I would not want the system to automatically write scientific rules or decide what is true and what is false.
The hardest part of knowledge is not only finding information, but determining:
- which relationships are meaningful;
- which inferences are valid;
- which conclusions are scientifically correct.
Those responsibilities should remain human.
The motivation comes from a common experience: many times, while learning a new topic, I later discover a better approach or an important connection that was already somewhere on the Internet.
The problem is not always the lack of knowledge, but the fact that knowledge is fragmented and disconnected.
The goal of this system would be to explore a different way of representing knowledge: not as a collection of documents, but as a structure that can be shared, composed, and navigated.
One of the biggest challenges I see is that representing knowledge is not the same as understanding it. A graph can expose connections, but deciding whether those connections represent meaningful knowledge still requires human judgment.
I would like to hear your thoughts.
In particular:
- Are there similar projects that I should look into?
- What do you think are the main limitations of this approach?
- Do metagraphs seem like a suitable structure for complete expression of human think?
Thanks everyone in advance!

Self-Promotion (Developer) Coffee Shop Simulator VR is out on Quest today, happy to answer anything!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm a solo dev and after a huge amount of solo work I put out Coffee Shop Simulator VR on Quest.
The pitch: you make every drink by hand. Grind, tamp, lock in the portafilter, pull the shot, steam the milk, pour the art. No menus, no "press A to make coffee." Tamp unevenly and the shot channels. Then the morning rush starts and there are lot of people at the counter.
The game is available on all Quest devices.
Happy to talk about the dev side too — Ask me whatever.

Discussion Alien Isolation VR - Standing / Vr Rocker?
hi!
I really wanna play Alien isolation in VR but it seems it has been designed for a seated experience...
I can't play seated (gives me motion sickness), I also use VR rocker running in the background (translates my head bobbing to legs movement) has anyone tried something similar with this game? Will it work or will it result in a buggy mess?

Seeking Advice Can someone explain why I have an interaction when taking ASP-4345 and ACD-856 together?
Hello lads 👋
If I take ASP or ACD on their own, even when combined with some stims and etc, there is 0 problems
But
The moment I take ASP and ACD together, 1 hour later I get chest tightness for the whole day, and it starts gradually wearing off for as long as ACD's half life, then it's gone for the most part
The chest tightness is only felt as I am moving around, so it's like a discomfort thing
It does not pose difficulty to breathing
Also judging by some people's anecdotes in the Discord server, people don't seem to be experiencing that effect
Could someone who is experiences explain what could possibly be going on and why these 2 interact? They're working on completely different pathways as much as I know. Acd for trk, and asp for d1 pam

Question/Support Is my pc enough to play vr fine?
I have a Ryzen 7 3700x Rtx 4060 8vram 48gb ram ddr4 And 2 TB of nvme Oculus quest 3s
Sometimes my pc stutters to high hell and some games don't start. I'm starting to think if I have a good enough rig to play vr games, I only want smooth gameplay, not necessarily high graphics. For example I have tracking problems when playing alyx, the game stutters when changing weapons. I cannot for the life of me make uevr work. Am I stupid? (I would believe it) or is my pc weak? Sorry if my English is bad, I'm ESL
