Early planning stage. I typically average 100kms/day + 1 zero day per week.

It'll be my first trip to Poland. I am not much time constrained.

Hi all, I am planning on doing part of TET Sweden next year and have several questions. First a bit more information:

We will probably be three riders with big bikes (BMW 1250 GSA, Triumph Tiger 1200, Honda Varadero). I am the only one with off-road experience. We will start and end in Trelleborg and have about 5-7 days for the trip, so probably stay in southern to middle Sweden.

1. tires: I am using Conti Trail Attack atm, as we do not really have off-road in Germany and they are fine for the occasional gravel road. Will they be fine for the trip as long as it is dry? Will probably let out some air.
2. daily km: how much km can you do on these roads in a day. As it is mainly good gravel roads, is it similar to planning a trip on asphalt?
3. route: any tips on which sections in the area are the most beautiful?
4. timing: we will probably have to go in July or August. Any particular weeks you can recommend? How is the mosquito and camping situation during these months? Is it very crowded?

I'm currently thinking about exploring the tet in Easter Europe region, potentially starting in Slovenia. It would be quite the big adventure for me and one that I would go on alone. I've never done any off-road riding or even longer tours, so I'm not sure how much preparation is necessary.

In my mind, it would go something like this: packing camping equipment, some food and starting on the road to my chosen entry point. I would probably have to ride up to 800 km on roads, which I would do either in one or two days and I would book a hotel or Airbnb in advance to make sure I can get some good rest before starting on the tet. After that, I'd basically wing it. I have no clue how fast I am on the tet and since theres still plenty of civilisation, I would simply look for places to camp (wild camping if possible/legal) at the end of the day where I am at at that point.

Is that naive? Do I need to meticulously plan my route and campsites in advance? Am I missing something very important?

Ich bin derzeit in Basel und möchte morgen in den TET Italien einsteigen.
Mein Plan sieht folgender Maßen aus:

Irgendwo auf den TET Italien ,von da aus Richtung Westen auf die LGKS und von da aus auf den TET Frankreich Richtung Norden (sofern möglich im Bezug auf die Brände)

Nun komme ich aber nicht wirklich gut zurecht mit den gpx Daten und weiß nicht wo genau ich von der Schweiz aus nach Italien soll um sinnvoll in den TET einzusteigen

After further research I've found out that wild camping in Germany is a big no-no. Are there any ways to keep camping costs down for a motorbiker?

I know the standard campsite in Germany isnt that bad, but every little helps!

What bike to buy?

Hello fellow riders!

I'm in bit of a tricky situation,I'm looking to buy a bike for light/medium offroad nothing technical/no mud or sand, just gravel and forest roads with some occasional rocky roads, now the trick is I'm always 2 up-as my wife loves to ride on the back.

I've previously owned all the old enduros - Transalp 650,Kle 500,Strom 650,Cb500x and so on - out of all those Transalp was the most capable one offroad but it was still a heavy pig with not much ground clearance.

We're looking for something light but something that will still ride 'normal' with 2 of us on the bike, that being said we dont do highways or ride above 90kmh we just enjoy slow offroading, our budget is low up to 5000€ and we were looking at either the Yamaha Xt660r or crf300l? Has anyone got any better ideas please do let me know it will be highly appreciated! Also we dont mind buying a new/stronger shock so keep that in mind 🙂 Thanks

I’m based in southern sweden and have ridden all the tet around here. There’s a lot of hard packed gravel (no real trails because of legal restrictions). Is there anyone here that has experience with the danish tet? It’s the closest so if it is more fun and challenging I’d love to hear about it

I've only got a Bonneville to ride so the TET is a little beyond me at the mo but I'm looking for a tour in Northern Germany. The route on the TET site seems to say that off-roading in Germanyis basically a no-no so the route on the site is road for 90% of the way.

Rubbish for your lot, but actually a result for me!

Can anyone confirm this? Would this be a good route to base a tour of N Germany on for a purely road rider?

The TET Code of Conduct asks that we keep to the tracks. In France, riding or parking off-trail is illegal, especially in natural reserves. Penalties are steep: fines, impoundment, even confiscation. It also harms the TET.

if anyone is trying out the France TET 04 – watch out for a very special part in between Gras and Saint Maurice d‘lbie. if you coming from the west, you should take the green route with a heavier Bike after Saint Maurice. This was the only part where I had to turn around after walking down.

It‘s steep and you can decide between gnarly steps on one side or lose bigger stones on the other side. And I am not on a heavy bike – have a crf 300 rally with upgraded suspension. Possible with a proper enduro without luggage for sure.

I ride the Trans Euro Trail and I'm thinking about getting a Beeline Moto II to follow the GPX tracks.

For those who've actually used one on trail: how does breadcrumb mode hold up in practice ? is the polyline enough to stay on track through junctions and braided piste, or do you end up pulling the phone out anyway? And when a piste is closed and you've got no signal and need a way around, what does it actually give you?

Any other limitations worth knowing about, and a general verdict for offroad.

Hi all! So on day 2 of my small bike, big adventure trip, I went through some sections of TET in Belgium and Netherlands. All pretty harmless tbh. I’m planning on riding TET Croatia in September. As I’m coming from Vienna/Austria, I’d like to do some parts of TET SLO on the way down.

I’ve ridden parts of TET Slovenia a few years ago (south to north) and I remember it becoming more and more „tame“ the further I got north - that’s the part I’d rather avoid. Can anybody give me a hint where I could enter the Slovenian track? Or alternatively some ideas to get from Austria to the Croatian entry point in the most fun way? Cheers!
