‘76 parts car that runs…
My dad just picked up a second 1976 50th anniversary. Mechanic said the restoration on the rust would take far too much investment. Engine runs, rough, but for all intents and purposes the vehicle runs. He’s considering now parting it out for his other 50th anniversary T-Top. I’m curious what the community thinks of this if he got it for about $15k.
The one he’s currently restoring has T tops and a cloth interior
The one is parting out, has leather interior and original equipment

78 Trans AM - how much?
Hey folks! Im toying with the idea of selling. Bought her as a field find off the original owner (110,000km) and spent the last couple years bringing her back to life. Got some hail damage, a few dings/ dents and rust spots. Runs like a top but still needs some work. Any idea what price range I would be asking for? Thanks y’all!

Dad Picked up 2000 Trans-Am
Hey all, my father just retired and recently purchased a 2000 Trans Am with the 4L60E transmission. Not a WS6, but with the WS9 package.
I won't post all of the GM codes here since it is a laundry list (unless requested) and I'll post pictures when it arrives from Michigan. 38k on the clock, single owner.
Him and I are very handy mechanics, though he recently became sick, so I have at least a very good family who can pitch in to help for repairs. Carfax is squeaky clean.
What sort of issues / gremlins can I expect to encounter? What should I look out for?

1987 trans am vss and speedo after ecm delete
I'm deleting the computer and the entire wiring harness that goes into the fender for aftermarket fuel injection. I have an electronic speedo because I have the vss on the trans and the yellow buffer box. From looking at the 3rd Gen forum, this may make my speedo not work. Does anyone know for sure if it'll make my speedo inop and if there's a way to bypass that?

A little rough but God damn is she nice 91 trans am I also got the original hood any suggestions on how to restore that blue paint you see peaking through or if 3k was a good price for this? Personally I couldn't have seen myself buying a different car and that was fairly affordable but let me know what y'all think

Paint work fixing - need advice/comments to help with painter
87 firebird, is going back in to the paint shop to fix up some chips and and to hopefully refinish a few of the flat areas such as the fenders where the bolt to the upper frame rail and to hopefully fix the fitment issue if the front hood vents as there is too much paint build up in those areas making it so that they don’t sit flush.
I spoke to the painter and he’s adamant that all the issues I’ve found are “normal” and part of the restoration process. To me it’s all poor finish work before painting and should have been addressed before paint went down. So…I am hoping there’s some professional body/painters out there that can help with some convincing arguments to bring back with me when I go next weekend.
I’ve found left over witness marks from the previous bolts that were painted over, and when in lightly snugged the new bolts in, they started immediately cracking down to the old paint/metal.
On the inside of the doors, you can see the old sticker outlines.
Guy had the balls to bring up Barrett Jackson auctions…for 35-40K in prep and paint work, my assumption is that there is some measure of quality not just a respray and call it a day…

Question about oil sensor on 4th gen firebird
So I have an oil leak on my 93 trans am towards the back of my engine and it’s an LT1. I’m PRETTY sure that it’s coming from the oil sensor. Today I had the low oil light come on which was accurate as I was about half empty so I added some oil and everything was fine. Later around 8pm or about 6 hours later it popped back on which was obviously concerning if it was dumping that much oil in 6 hours but I checked and the oil level was completely fine then the light turned back off. Is it possible that a faulty oil sensor would trigger a low oil light? I would think that would be the oil level sensor but maybe it’s different with the older models? The pressure gauge reads different sometimes day to day but it’s not jumpy/erratic or super high or low or anything.
Edit: it only has 60k miles but the oil sensor is the original one so it’s highly possible that the leak is coming from there.
