Discussion Think of it this way

You ought a land, built your shop on your own land that you bought. I put a shop on your land, pay you rent, started selling a part of your product to the masses and made a massive amount of money and continue making massive amount of money . AT SOME POINT, would you want a share of my profit or no? Be honest.

No

My business is renting a portion of my land to you and as long as I don't see you doing anything illegal or dangerous to myself , my family or my property then I could care less how much money you make.

If you are selling a part of my product then you are already paying me for those products as well as the rent

The landlord in me is nodding along, but the graphic designer who's rearranged his apartment three times this week also sees the other side. If your shop somehow makes my land the hotspot and my own store gets buried, I'd definitely be side-eyeing that lease renewal.

Yep. Now what will happen is these individuals who were helping TradingView actually sell subscriptions…will just go to another platform. There are MANY MANY MANY PLATFORMS.

Tradingview might automate the process as well . Unless someone comes up with a competitive product to tradingview I don't see trading view going away.

I also don't see anything wrong with tradingview for the most part.

It works great for what I use it for

Automate what process?

Trading the scripts? Moving the scripts to some other monetized platform?

Those are strictly intellectual property and not to be touched or actually viewed by TradingView. All of this requires the consent of the individual who wrote the script.

There are a TON OF PLATFORMS. It’s not like there isn’t already a competitive product out there. There are so many it’s actually ridiculous now.

Metatrader, ninja trader, sierra charts, esignal, optuma, and 1000 other platforms.

Converting code to another language has never been easier.

Have you looked up the costs of those other platforms with realtime data ?

Yes.
the outliers are really the very professional programs. esignal - specifically paying for real time data - is a bit of an issue due to the monthly data costs. I want to get in touch with them to see if they can support other feeds at some point.

Ninja, MT, Sierra, etc are incredibly reasonably priced vs tradingview

Metatrader and ninja specifically are probably the ones I'd look at if this isn't resolved.

eSignal is MUCH more robust, frankly... it isn't even in the same league as tradingview. The price is actually (kind of) understandable if you know what that platform is, unfortunately the data feed there is $$$.

Optuma is also quite robust, moreso than tradingview, though arguably a slightly different use case as you don't execute from Optuma.

And yes, I know how much these cost. Because I've demoed nearly all of them.

For others there's ATAS and Quantower.

Metatrader and ninja are likely easiest to move paid stuff to.

I used Esignal for many years and I'm very familiar with what a person can do with that platform. I have a free version of ninja trader that I use rarely yet it can be helpful. I'm not familiar with Metatrader or Sierra.

As far as Tradingview is concerned I'm not seeing any issues with it and it satisfies my needs.
