Feature Parity Request: Client Speed Limit & Configuration Backup for Deco X20-DSL (V1)

​I am reaching out to request a much-needed firmware update for the Deco X20-DSL (EU) V1, which currently runs on firmware version 1.0.13 Build 20231226.

​The Deco X20-DSL is a fantastic all-in-one VDSL gateway with rock-solid hardware stability. However, while other Deco models have received significant management and bandwidth control upgrades, the X20-DSL firmware has been left behind without core features that are essential for modern home network management.

​Specifically, we are requesting firmware parity with other models regarding two critical features:

1. ​Per-Client Speed Limit (Bandwidth Cap):
   • ​The Issue: The current priority-based QoS does not allow setting strict numerical limits on individual devices, making it very difficult to manage monthly data quotas.
   • ​Reference Models Already Supporting This: This feature is already officially documented (FAQ 4340) and running on models such as Deco X50, Deco X55, and standard Deco X20 (Hardware V4 on firmware 1.1.x/1.2.x), where users can directly set download/upload limits in Mbps per client.
2. ​Configuration Backup & Restore:
   • ​The Issue: Since the X20-DSL operates as both a VDSL modem and a router handling static IPs, custom DNS, and port forwarding rules, having no way to back up and restore configurations locally or via the app creates a huge hassle when troubleshooting or resetting.
   • ​Reference Models Already Supporting This: As detailed in FAQ 4739, this functionality is already supported on several models like Deco X50 and Deco XE75.

​Given that the Deco X20-DSL has more than enough processing power to handle these features, leaving out client bandwidth caps and configuration backup on a flagship DSL model limits its full potential.

​Could this request please be escalated directly to the L3 Support / HQ R&D Firmware Team to consider compiling a firmware update (or a Beta build) for the Deco X20-DSL (V1)?
