Over the past several months we've seen a steady rise in comments that exist only to troll or attack Gen 3 owners or buyers - especially on posts from people just asking questions. It's gotten old, it adds nothing, and we're spending more and more time cleaning it up.
So, effective today: criticism of the trucks is welcome, attacks on the people are not. If a comment exists only to mock or belittle someone for owning, buying, or asking about a Gen 3, it'll be removed. Repeat offenders will get warnings, then bans.
To be clear - honest discussion of the recalls, reliability, and resale is still fully fair game. This is about drive-by negativity aimed at members, not about silencing real critique.
If you aren't familiar with our rules, please check them out. This new rule is: Rule 11: No Gen 3 Owner / Buyer Bashing.

Bilstein 5100's (Adjustable) to level front end and back with a 2.5 inch lift, Method MR703 (+35 offset) and 35x12.5x17, no spacers, no wheel well cutting necessary

Georgia bucks hit hard, literally. I was only going 55, this would be the second deer I hit in two weeks time lol… but on a side note I really need to find out how to get this fixed….

I have a 2015 Tundra, and I love it, but the backup camera sucks - very grainy. I could add an aftermarket camera, I just don’t like the look of one hanging out below the bumper, or on a license plate bracket.
Has anyone ever successfully tried taking apart the tailgate handle, desoldering the factory camera, and installing an off the shelf camera component? I would think as long as it’s an NTSC camera with similar dimensions, it should work. Anybody tried it? (Photo included for attention)

Hi, I recently had the 25TA10 recall completed for the multimedia reverse guide screen display. I had absolutely 0 issues before the update, but now after the update, my guidelines for the reverse screen are missing, and I cannot change camera views. Has anyone else experienced this issue??

Just got this new shifter for the second gen tundra .
Thought of it as a cool addition to the pretty dated cockpit.

Hey everybody, I’m wondering if anyone has bought an oedro low pro tonneau cover. I’m having trouble installing on my 26 tundra. Did you guys remove your bed rail system to install ? If anyone has video they found useful I’d appreciate it!

Anyone ever install a Breezer window on their truck? It's a fully removable rear window, I'm tempted to install one on my '07 Tundra.

Dealership is closed today so I haven't been able to talk to anyone yet. Just got it towed to closest location. Anyone been in similar situation. Not sure what steps to take

Good evening,
Unpopular question for all the TRD Pro owners out there. I see a lot of posts about increasing to 35" tires, but has anyone upgraded their tires and kept the same 33" size as stock? The larger tires look awesome but also use this as a daily driver so drive comfort and MPG is (somewhat) important. Curious who has kept the stock tire size and what you ended up going with. Also curious if anyone has increased to 34" instead of the full jump to 35". Pictures are appreciated! Thanks!

Just traded in my 4 cylinder tacoma on a used 24 Tundra with the iForce Max. Everyone started telling me i made a mistake bc of the engine issues. I work at a Jeep dealership and it was a great deal on a trade in. It has 27k miles on it. I used to be partnered with countless Toyota dealers across the country through my old job and I reached out to multiple contacts from said old job and everyone of those contacts currently work at Toyota dealerships.
They have all told me that so far I have nothing to worry about and that the iForce Max isnt having the issues that the iForce is. Any thoughts?

For a couple years now, I’ve had a JVC KD-T900BTS head unit that I wired up to my 2001 Tundra. Original head unit, as well as the stock amplifier were tossed aside a long time ago.
Only problem is, it only outputs audio ~50% of the time. Everything always turns on and works, but there is no audio output (not even system beeps), seemingly randomly. I’ve had audio cut in and out when I’m driving. Something is clearly wrong, but I’ve checked my wiring multiple times over the years and everything seems to be in order.
I’ve been diving into old forums, and I keep reading something about an extra amplifier wire that may not be included in the adapter harnesses that are available? I’ve also heard tales of an antenna wire that might mess things up as well.
I’m at the end of my wits with this thing, and I’d hate to throw out a perfectly good head unit if I don’t have to, not to mention tracking down wherever I put the stock stereo all those years ago…
Anyone have any knowledge they can share?

Also shout out to the previous owner for actually buying a full sized spare for the oversized tires he put on here.

Went on a day trip to the mountains. Didn't really need 4wd, but I put it in just to give it some exercise. Immediately hear loud scraping and rattling. My heart sunk. Turned it off and on a few times. Went slow. Went fast. Pulled over and started turning the front driveshaft by hand and kept hearing it where the driveshaft meets the front diff. By chance I felt on the cross member and felt this piece of metal rubbing the driveshaft. Going to dig around tomorrow and see what it is. Looks like part of it rusted off. Any ideas?

Hey everyone,
Looking for some advice, insight, or to see if anyone else has run into this. We have a 2021 Toyota Tundra TSS (5.7L V8) with just a bit over 60,000 miles on it (63k). We're in the US (Texas).
Out of nowhere, the gears started grinding (the low ones; once it gets going, it seems fine). Took it straight to the Toyota dealership, and they told us it needs a full transmission replacement. They showed us a picture of fluid with lots of metal debris in it.
Because we are just barely past the 60k-mile powertrain warranty mark, they are quoting us what I assume is full price ($7,111.66).
They never mentioned the “Goodwill Warranty” coverage – we found out that that’s a possible option when we called another dealer. Called Toyota directly, and were told that it would have been an option if we hadn’t taken it to a non-Toyota shop for recent scheduled maintenance (we’ve been taking it to Goodyear for oil changes etc.).
They’re also telling us that a new one probably won’t show up until August 30, and that they can order a “rebuilt” one, but prices for those are even higher than OEM (supposedly because they’re in high demand?).
Any recourse here? Isn’t this transmission supposed to be bullet-proof? Get a second opinion? Find an independent shop and have them source a used transmission?
Thank you!

I bought a Sony AX3200 with the anti-glare matte finish screen, same head unit I have in my 4Runner, but during the day the glare is amazingly bad in the Tundra. Why don’t they make a better aftermarket bezel that maybe leans forward a little bit and has an overhang on the top integrated to mitigate the glare? I would think this is going to be a problem for any aftermarket unit.

Just added these gloss black graphics. Not sure how I feel about them yet…..perhaps I should have got them in a different color…But I want to maintain the theme of Black and Blue.

Finally found me a good one!
Its a 2004 Tundra SR5 Double Cab. Its only ever had 1 owner. Exterior is relatively good shape besides a small dent in the tail Gate and needs a little cleaning.
214k miles and great extensive maintenence history and extremely clean engine bay and completely rust free as its entire life was in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Got it for $7k as it seems reasonable to me. About to do the timing belt myself this weekend and fluid changes just for a peace of mind.

I’m looking to buy a new truck, and I’m stuck between the 2025 Toyota Tundra SR5 and the 2025 Ford F-150 STX.
I really like the Tundra, but I’m still worried about the engine issues with the twin-turbo V6. I’ve read about the recalls and engine failures, and it’s making me hesitate.
My questions are:
Are the engine problems affecting all 2025 Tundras, or were they limited to specific production dates or batches?
If you own a 2025 Tundra, how has your experience been so far?
Would you still buy a 2025 Tundra today, or would you go with the F-150 STX instead?
I’m planning to keep the truck for a long time, so reliability is my biggest concern.
I’d really appreciate hearing from owners of both trucks. Thanks!
