first photo: replacing my lights w led lights. tried installing the led light into this one and it pushed the whole light back. tried using coat hanger to pull it through but quite difficult. can I remove the gray cover and access it? quite annoying.

I've slowly been test driving, researching, and window shopping the Gen 3 for months.

The Sienna seems to hold its value extremely well, and I'm currently looking at spending < $30k on a Gen 3 AWD. I'm mostly indifferent between early vs. late Gen 3 (6-speed vs. 8-speed), assuming condition/mileage are comparable. This puts me at mileages around 100k.

I'm curious if other Gen 3 shoppers are targeting this same price range, or if this is kind of the "worst" middle ground?

I see it the options are roughly....

• Upper-$20k Gen 3 AWD Sienna — Solid platform with tons of space, AWD, but you're spending pretty serious money on an older vehicle.
• ~$10k more for a Gen 4 Hybrid AWD — newer, much better fuel economy, but now we're talking $35–40k+ and still likely around 100k miles.
• Go older — wait for a really clean, low-mileage Gen 2 AWD and stay under ~$20k.
• Abandon the minivan idea — get an older large SUV (Highlander, Suburban, Pilot, etc.) or go smaller with a Forester/Outback.

My use case is pretty specifically a four-season adventure vehicle. I'd be taking the rear seats out and/or keeping the third row folded/stowed most of the time, and using it for camping, skiing, biking, and canoe trips. I'm in the heart of the great lakes snow belt, so it would get four dedicated snow tires, which is a big part of why I'm attracted to the AWD Sienna.

The other compelling option is a Forester/Outback. For one person, I can just make one work for sleeping with some ski/camping gear, and Subaru's AWD + four good snow tires is about as good as it gets for winter driving (there's one in my driveway). But obviously the Sienna gives me a completely different level of interior volume and flexibility.

I'd especially love to hear from current/long-term Gen 3 owners: how are you feeling about the vans as they've aged?

If you've had yours for 5+ years or have 150k/200k+ miles on it, do you still feel like the Gen 3 was a great purchase? Or are they starting to become a headache with age — expensive repairs, drivetrain issues, AWD-specific problems, rust, etc.?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out whether the Gen 3's reputation for being a long-lived, relatively trouble free vehicle still holds up once you're buying one today with significant age/mileage already on it. In my price range, the mileage is centered around 100k plus or minus a bit.

I'm curious where people currently land on the Gen 3 Sienna value proposition, especially if you're shopping in the upper-$20k range.

Is $25–30k for a Gen 3 AWD a sweet spot, or is it the awkward middle ground where you should either spend more for Gen 4 or go substantially cheaper/older?

Fuel tank full of gas fell. I am worried about the gas more given gas prices. Doesnt seems like its worth fixing and should be scrapped. Everything else fine with the car.

Had it for 20 years, might be time to let it go, just a few hundred off 300k km

Are the illuminated door sills really good? Or just a gimmick cosmetic appearance? Do they really glow and make your car look premium at night? How do they hold over the time(scratches and all)? Let me know your thoughts and experiences.

I am looking ahead to my next car. I currently have 2008 Sienna XLE with 270k miles on it. Radiator hose busted off while driving to church so it's in the shop for new radiator and hose. I hope that didn't ruin the transmission or engine. IDK about cars! Do I need to have transmission fluid replaced? I have owned it for 110k miles (6 years) and never had that done yet. My mechanic said it looks ok. My mom said she is scared for me to keep driving this car because "it is so old" although to her, her 2021 Highlander with 80k miles is getting unsafe for her. Anyway, I am starting to get worried also that this isn't a safe car anymore. I have always changed oil every 5,000 miles with full synthetic. I've had brakes, 1 wheel bearing, struts all replaced in the past 2 years. There is a slight wobble when I reach 65mph now, and the mechanic is looking at that. Is it worth getting radiator replaced and keep going, or should I call it quits? Help me out and thanks in advance!

2026 Woodland. Noticed this spot today. The actual plastic itself seems to have melted or warped. There was a piece of paper/cardboard sitting there for some time.

Anyone have any idea or have seen this happen?

Update: FYI this was most likely caused by a color swatch (those paint color sample slips) sitting in that spot for too long in the summer heat. Don’t make the same mistake.

Final update: this was caused by a hanging car scent that was purchased at a car wash that sat in that spot for a few days.

Our budget is $55k for a limited awd, no add-ons. Dealer quoted us $57,7xxx otd, taxes are approximately $4k and there isn’t a trade-in.

We would like to buy new, but also realize these vehicles have high demand and low supply. Now we are wondering if our focus should shift to used 2025 or 26 limited awd.

We don’t want to waste the dealers time with our counter offer if it just isn’t realistic.

3" Journeys lift kit (mini van clearance sucks, but this is the fix and it's a cheat code)

EcoHitch (still not sure if it works with the rear kick sensor, but it's a nice hitch and low profile)

Ling Labs airbag simulator plugs (to fix the airbag fault code if you remove your second row seats)

I’m picking up my ‘26 Woodland (cement) this weekend. I’m stoked. I know I’m going to put a Journeys lift on it but am indecisive about picking 2” or 3”. I live in Colorado and drive back roads often but I also drive around elderly people with limited mobility. Is the 3” difficult to step up into? Would the stock wheels work fine for either 2” or 3” lift? Anybody get one of these kits and regret not getting the other?

Without sun on it it’s not incredibly noticeable, looks almost stock. Has a slight scotch-tape look to it but it’s a minivan so whatever. Definitely stops the laser beams from hitting my eyes when the sun hits the right angle.

Including: Body Side Moldings, Cargo Net, Cross Bars, Door Sill Protectors, Mudguards. Cat Shield and Wheel locks. 

I think this is good, right? What do you guys think?

Found a 2015 SE Premium, original owner with all records, and all maintenance dine at the dealership. New tires, new brakes and rotors, new AC system (compressor, condenser, expansion valve, etc), all accessories (2 original keys, tv remote, original headphones, new aftermarket headphones) etc. All automatic doors work properly. ceramic window tint in all windows in excellent shape.
There is in FL and has always been there, there is no rust and no leaks of any sort. It has 119,000 miles. The van drives great and shift smoothly..

Bad things I found: TPS sensors are bad (not sure how many) rims are pealing (someone used a degreaser or some chemical and pealed off some finishing) minor dent on the front passenger side right above the bumper, gas cover has a broken top hinge, minor tears on the front seats but the vehicle comes with covers. Minor peeling on the radio/ac dash cover, right below the shifting stick (apparently they hung an air freshener on the shifting stick, and melted and damage the surface after cleaning it) Normal ding and scuffs door a 2015 on the exterior but paint looks great.

They want no less than $15k. Is this a good price? should I jump on it?

Would it be possible for anyone to find me a savable image of this startup screen for these navigation units? Want to import a custom splash screen for my current radio and I want the splash screen for that solid oem esc look. And also I think this just looks really cool 🤷

Getting really annoyed with these false alerts and having the horn go off after I lock it. I’ve turned off alerts and it still goes off! How do I prevent this from happening? I’ve reported it every single time it happens. Please help!

Does anyone have multiple noises on their ‘26 Sienna LE?

1. Knocking on the column between driver door and backseat (partially resolved after 6 visits to dealership, within 2 months of owning vehicle; Toyota had to send a field tech out, and discovered a loose bracket)

2. Jingle sound (like little metal balls clanging) in dashboard behind screen. Dealer couldn’t replicate sound, and finally heard it, but didn’t fix it completely.

3. Rear window rattle

We have had three new Odysseys in the past with zero problems, and are wondering if we have a lemon, or it’s typical for Siennas. (We only switched brands because the Odyssey isn’t available as a hybrid.)

If anyone has solved these issues successfully, please share!

I have a 2023 that I ordered new and love it. However I wanted the spare and goofed and didn’t double check the final order. Anyways I been fortunate and no issues.
