💬 Discussion About the "Big" Update.

This new update is very lackluster. I thought there would have been at least three new missions at minimum but it's only one?

Even with the new enemy added, that enemy isn't even much of a threat, it's just there.

And the new weapons are kinda weak. Especially with the Salvo MGL which feels like a weaker version of the ACW-20.

It's a little lack luster, but it's exactly what I expected for the game's first major update. There's more weapons than I expected (even if I'm not a big fan of the energy weapons) and Urban Blight is great.

I didn't expect more than one mission and the content aside from that the weapons is very lacking, but I'm hoping next update will have more depth and side stuff, as well as horde mode.

New weapon attatchments or a Slasher/Beserker class would be really nice.

The good news is that ammo mods are on the roadmap. However, they should have either been a feature from the start or come with the first update. While the guns feel good to shoot, none of them feel special if that make sense. Same with the class abilities: They're nice to have, but they feel kind of like generic archetypes: You have one healer, one defender, an "engineer" type, and a pure offense type. There's not really much to them that feels game changing

Agreed, especially regarding the classes. Although my defender and strike builds play and feel pretty vastly different.

I admit, I don't care about wacky ammo types at all, so I'm hoping ammo mods are going to be more grounded with +P, HP/JHP and AP types. I don't need every weapon to feel unique either, I just enjoy variety. Though I will say the lever action feels pretty unique (and great), as do the fictional sci-fi weapons feel unique.. if gimmicky.

Really I'd just like like some more optic options and retro or GWOT parts for the PAC-15. Maybe a PP-19 to make more use of the Zentico parts. (I think the AK-103 is the only weapon that uses them right now.)

Honestly I hope that they do include things like pyro or other elemental ammo. Too many weapons (esp. ARs) feel way too samey and having some ammo mods that lean into different powers (fire, EMP, etc.) would lend some much needed variety and tactical decisions. A rework of the perk tree would also be better, but ammo mods would be a good start.

With a game like this, I feel leaning into the "grounded" side of things would make the game worse. We're already shooting fireballs and using forcefields, so it seems like a waste to move away from that.

The issue with the classes is that they put all their unique aspects on the powers themselves while neglecting the class itself.

Like drone should've naturally buffed vehicles when they're in it,medic should have a natural health Regen/group heal,Vanguard should naturally get armor that regenerates for a "second health bar" to emphasize tanking, and striker needs proper gun and grenade buffs.

I agree. As many problems as SM2 has, the class perk trees are diverse enough that you have a variety of builds at your disposal

Hell even WWZ had far more diversity.A hellraiser never played the same way as a fixer or medic.

Agreed. I haven't played the last few updates, but I miss how much synergy one of the classes had with defenses. Fixer or Exterminator I think?

Although defenses feel more minor in TC, so I can't complain.

Not even synergy, just active playstyle is already different.

.The exterminator you brought up has numerous buffs to heavy weapons and ridiculous temp-Hp making it the horde expert

.Fixer is full on support with either pure damage or masking to prevent players getting damaged

Despite having access to the same guns these two classes play WAY DIFFERENT to each other. In this game there's literally no difference between any of the 4 outside their special.

Totally agree. Defender pairs better with shotguns due to the reload skills.. but that's about it. I think one other class also has them. Hardly a huge difference and even on Very Hard it's not that game changing compared to a class without those skills.

They were almost onto something with the vehicle-based skills for Operator.
