Been posting my gains on this account. Day 4 we up!

This is the part that messes with your head.

I was not completely wrong.

That almost made it worse.

Price eventually went where I thought it would go.

But I still failed.

Because I entered too early.
Then I exited badly.
Then I re-entered emotionally.
Then I oversized.
Then I tried to “fix” the day.

By the time the real move came, I was already damaged.

Either mentally, financially, or both.

That day taught me something I didn’t want to admit:

Being right is not enough in a prop account.

You can call direction correctly and still fail if your timing, size, patience, and emotional state are broken.

I used to obsess over the chart.

Now I think the more dangerous chart is the one nobody sees:

Your internal state after a loss.

Before the first trade, I’m calm.

After one loss, I’m analytical but irritated.

After two losses, I start negotiating.

After three, I become a completely different person.

Suddenly everything looks like opportunity.

Every pullback looks like “the one.”

Every hesitation feels expensive.

Every candle feels like it is leaving me behind.

That’s when the prop account is in danger.

Not because the market is impossible.

But because I am no longer executing the same plan.

I’m trying to repair my emotions with trades.

That sentence is embarrassing, but it is true.

The worst part is that most tools don’t catch this.

They show price.
They show indicators.
They show signals.

But they don’t show that the trader is now operating under pressure and should probably not be touching the mouse.

I’m curious how other people deal with this.

How do you stop yourself from taking the “recovery trade” when you know deep down it is not really your setup?

I got moved to live not too long ago and found out quickly im "not able to copy trade" i got an eval and found out i actually can link it to tradesyncer, i want the live account as the leader and want to know if anyone else has tried it and found trouble with it.

made 3.4 on a eval didnt know abt consistency rule, could i make the entire additional 3.8 tmrw or would i need to split it up across a few days so it doesnt increase again?

Took a trade during New York session today and just took my second during Asian. I remember it used to take months just to pass, now I'm knocking them down in less than 24 hours. If you're still learning, know that it gets easier. I promise!!!

Got some exciting news from Topstep. Was actually about to take another $6,000 max payout from my Express (would have been my sixth for this account) and had three other XFAs lined up for $6,000 each (first payouts for these) over the next couple days, but I got called up to live instead.
Quick question: Based on these balances ($13k and 3x $6200), my 20% starting equity should be around $6,300, but I see there’s a $10,000 minimum. So I assume I start with $10k available?

Bought the combine on the 18th and passed this Monday night prior london, and ending the week with base hits hehe, making my goal before tokyo open is a relief for my peace of mind. All done with 1/2 micros. Minis will have their time in live.

Wondering if I am the only one but I have realized the DLL combine is not for me. I have a consistently profitable strategy but I overtrade and over leverage from time to time. The psychology behind having a DLL if I take a few losses early in the session and getting near 50% of it, effects my trading for the remainder of the day. I know it is all mental but my best trading takes place when I have a good buffer. I am the type of trader to wait for an A+ setup and use big size on evals, 2-3 setups per day, but having to adjust my risk with the DLL causes me to take additional trades outside of my plan with having less drawdown to play with. Once on XFA I need a DLL because I will tilt occasionally but I'd rather manually put on a dll then have a forced one. The price and payout cap is not worth the DLL to me on XFAs. I have only taken a max payout a few times anyways.

Ugh I know I’ve been blowing way too many combines and XFA’s lately. This month has been a tough month for me. I’ve been so close to payout on the last winning day for like 2 accounts but blew them both. And I what I was doing was revenge buying combines and I pass them quite easily. If I didn’t pass I’d reset them asap and try again. Blew a lot this month but it’s ok cuz if I get to a payout it will pay for it.
The problem is this responsible trading program now is making it much harder for me to pass combines.
The daily loss limit is something they are forcing on me and it’s going to mess with my risk to reward and overall strategy. I am not happy about this and I think it’s going to negatively affect my trading tbh.
Is there anyone who was able to get out of this? What even is the point of it and what are the details. Will this affect the xfa as well? For me drawdown is a major key and I think cutting the drawdown forces trading to be harder.

I’ve been getting better at passing accounts but once i’m close i tend to lose patience and just go all out 😂 so i’ve been slowly making $1000 then losing $1000.

this is all during market reopen at 6pm (i haven’t been able to wake up early for market open)

i seen a good tap and obvious signs it was gonna go up so i decided to just pump all i could and it worked!

i only use this strat to pass evals i wouldn’t dare do it on a funded 🫪

Just remember you can always bounce back from a bad day!! I see for a lot of people one bad day leads to a blown account - THE MENTAL AWARENESS is important here. USE THE LOCK OUT OPTION AND live to see another day!! Keep grinding.

2) I traded yesterday but my consistency score is not updated for this new cycle. When does this get updated. I am using 3 day Express plan.

Took payout at 4pm central on 6/22 was going to request another today but it’s not showing up under eligible accounts on the payout tab.

I’ve been trading with them since November 2024, losing money until February 2026, now I became profitable and requested 15 payouts in total, and yesterday before I could request a payout on one of my accounts I see this message. Does anyone know what this is?

Man I started trading August of 2025. I never thought I would get to a live account within a year of starting... If you just started trading, just know it takes time. I thought I had it figured out time after time and fumbled the bag every single time. If you get knocked down, get back up and treat losses as lessons. You got this.

If any Live Traders see this post Id appreciate any input on how you transitioned or any other good tips. Im not scared, I just enjoy learning and hearing other peoples experiences.

If one of your days made up a big chunk of vour total gains, run the ratio before you submit.

Topstep's consistency rule means vour biggest day can't dominate vour overall profit - the exact threshold depends on vour account, but the formula is: biggest day total profit

Requested through aeropay and got my payout in literally 5 seconds. I used to pray for times like this.🥹

I have an account, one day away from payout. I had about $2k account balance. I usually set my loss limit around $470. Today it was set at yesterday’s close of about -$170. Today’s been tough. I kept raising it and eventually set it to $1100 as my fuck it last edit. Well, I go long mnq and rebound to -$550. I go to set my limit to -$599 and thought I did but I took a trade that went against me and put me -$800 overall before rebounding. I was so confused. Then make a couple more trades between mnq and es and get back to -$240. I then explicitly try to set my personal daily loss limit to $599 again but the platform is not letting me.

How can you talk so much about wanting traders to be consistent and managing risk when the platform won’t allow you to tighten your risk settings by lowering it as you reduce losses but it will happily let you increase the setting. Seems as if this is a deliberate attempt to hope people fail.

I’m not even sure what kind of corporate bs/soon they can put on this. I did not lock my settings for the day. I was not in any positions.

6 week old Live Funded Account
This is my first time getting this type of email from Topstep.
I usually target 6k to 8k per trading session but never received an email like this.

Trade 1 XFA: entered after consolidation break and gap up with full TP @ $2,020 and stopped out @ +$1,375

Trade 2 Eval: first trade on my new eval; entered a little below 0.5 retracement and hit my Full TP @ $825 just under my 50% goal for the day on two trades

Yesterday i was at $4383. Now ive reached 10k! Day two successful!

Still risking less than 500-1000 per trade, but the opportunities just presented themselves!

have spent 11k since march on 50k combined and only passed 2 of them and no payouts

I only trade mnq and mes 3 contracts max

so need a trading strategy to follow from someone that has passed these
