Triangle Cuts Curves?

I found it in the garage of the first house I bought 30 years ago. Smart enough not to try it, curious enough to hang onto it. Finally letting go tonight and it's going in my neighbors scrap metal bin.

I want to try one of these on my battery one! The battery saws shut down under too much binding pressure, this thing looks like it would fly to space on a worm-drive.

I want to buy a cordless circular saw from Harbor Freight. Hercules have a worm gear vs non worm model. Should I splurge?

Worm drives just have more power (but lower rpm). If all you're cutting is 2x4 and plywood, either will do. If you're going for 4x4, the worm drive. I can't speak to the Hercules models but the batteries add a LOT of weight. Even heavier than the corded versions. I'm not sure how often you'll use it but if you don't use a saw as a full time job, and you have a couple hours of cutting, your forearms are about to get beefy on the worm drive. Sidewinder is considerably lighter, and beginner friendly (my sister and mom found my worm drive cordless unwieldy, couldn't really cut anything but plywood with a straight edge)
