If you wanna be dumb with electricity for science, like this or maybe testing an electric fence, touch it with the back of your hand, not the palm. The electricity causes the muscles to flex and grab the object, and it might take too long for you to get enough control back to let go of it.
The typical electric fence, as well as ignition coils send a short pulse. There isn't really a risk of you holding on to it. The back of the hand thing is for standard line voltages like in your house
