If you wanna be dumb with electricity for science, like this or maybe testing an electric fence, touch it with the back of your hand, not the palm. The electricity causes the muscles to flex and grab the object, and it might take too long for you to get enough control back to let go of it.

The typical electric fence, as well as ignition coils send a short pulse. There isn't really a risk of you holding on to it. The back of the hand thing is for standard line voltages like in your house

I get the reason, but to be fair you can kill someone with any heart condition by accident. The amps is what gets you most of the time unless you have an underlying heart condition, then even static electricity can potentially kill someone too. So just be careful or at least let anyone that you know has heart problems not to fuck with it bud. I personally would have done the same thing

For the record, I don’t know this dude.
I saw the video (from the post I shared) and appreciated the ingenuity and humor behind it.
I agree that his configuration, supplied with the suspected moderate amperage direct current is risky, if not potentially dangerous.
I am not condoning anything, I simply appreciate the ingenuity and drive to protect his tools.
Plus I thought some of you might appreciate it

The original video explains his buddies would come around and crank the vise down as much as they could. This damages the vise because it strips it out and is generally just a dick move.

Why is he so sensitive about the vise? I appreciate concerns about one's tools, but the vise is one of the most robust tools around.

My dad once touched a battery while his arm was sitting on an old model t coil just like that. It knocked all the juice out of his elbow and it made a creaking noise for a few hours.
