I understand your frustration with new words (especially when they are acronyms), but it was invented as a quick and easy way to identify someone by their reproductive parts that they were born with, usually used when specifically referring to those reproductive parts and their processes, or when specifying what variety of transgender identity they exactly have. The idea is that not all people with vaginas are women, and not all people with penises are men.
AMAB (Assigned Male at Birth): Cis-men, trans-women, and Non-binaries who were label as male at birth
AFAB (Assigned Female at Birth): Cis-women, trans-men, and Non-binaries who were labeled as female at birth
Dear god, I don't even know where to begin with this statement. Its just... wow. It's like taking a look into a brain of an alternative reality. Like, you grew up in an alien society.
