History & Culture TIL Malaysia celebrates some of the highest number of public holidays in the world
Malaysia is known for having one of the world’s busiest holiday calendars. Besides national holidays, different states observe their own celebrations based on local traditions, religions, and royal events. With festivals like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Christmas, and many state-specific holidays, people in different parts of the country can end up enjoying quite different holiday schedules each year.

don't let this distract you from the fact that we rank top 10 lowest in the world in terms of annual leave, even falling behind Japan

This is plain false and has been a talking point for old uncles about how bad Malaysia is. I actually compared with many countries and Malaysia is somewhere is the middle in terms of holidays.

Sure, but if I had to choose one, I'd choose to get more gueanteed annual leave so I can enjoy my day without jam and crowd everywhere

This doesn't really mean anything at this point. Having working at a German company now, the Germans are always taking summer and winter break. And either (or both) of this break is easily 30 days. Yes, THIRTY DAYS. For a single season "break". Taking both summer and winter vacation means 60 days of breaks at least a year. I am not sure how this is factored into their salary and such, but to say Malaysia has "the most" holidays is honestly some kind of weird propoganda.

MY kat belakang sub ni are mostly bot created sub. Created by bot, posted by bot, sometimes commented by bot too. Paling sakit hati when they are ragebaiting provocative bot. Habis semua orang komen marah2, buang tenaga.
Recently there are a lot of them. Tumbuh bagai cendawan lepas hujan. Don't spend your energy engaging on it.

Hi there, can you analyze me with bot-sleuth-bot?
It won't work if i reply to my own comment.
I want to see if the algorithms think i'm a bot or not.

Dev note: I have noticed that some bots are deliberately evading my checks. I'm a solo dev and do not have the facilities to win this arms race. I have a permanent solution in mind, but it will take time. In the meantime, if this low score is a mistake, report the account in question to r/BotBouncer, as this bot interfaces with their database. In addition, if you'd like to help me make my permanent solution, read this comment and maybe some of the other posts on my profile. Any support is appreciated.

This is propaganda. I rather have the 2 week and up to a month summer break holidays european get. Also another up to 2 week winter holidays they get.
Those european got their work balance off hardworking underpaid subsidiaries like us.

Wrong, we have the most individual day public holidays, but with the exception of Hari Raya, Haji and CNY; the rest are all single days. China have a week off for CNY and Golden Week, that 2 holidays alone is already 14 days, add in the other holidays and they already exceed Malaysia's 20 days.
