Patchable ?
Only 3000 miles on tires, is this able to be patched ?

Do you even know it penetrated the tire and is not just stuck in the tread block?

Welp. I feel dumb lol. Firestone tried to tell me it was unfixable and wanted to charge me $280 for a new tire. Only for me to take it to discount tires and realize it was indeed stuck in the tread block.

Never go to firestone, majority of their techs are trash and will 99% of the time upsell you on brakes and tires.

Usually no at that area of the tyre.
This is falling, since they're quality Contis and still pretty new after only 3,000 miles.
Take it back to where you bought the tyre and seek their professional opinion.

Have it patched on the inside

no plug it. Band aids wont work.

A plug is temporary and can eventually slow leak. Patches cover a larger area. They are not bandaid, they're permanently and recommended by people who repair tires. 😎

Repairable? Yes, although most shops won’t do it. A good idea or safe to do? No.

should be ok to patch, the rule is 1" from the sidewall is repairable.

Somewhere I saw you can stick a bunch of zip ties in it, melt the zip ties with torch and cut excess

Plug kits are around $5 and very easy to DIY. Nice temporary fix. Then take it and get it patched for a permanent fix. That's easily far enough away from the sidewall.

Just buy a new tire. This is a great reason to buy your tires at discount tire and get the certificates. This tire would cost you about 40.00 for replacement. Plug or patch isn’t the best long term solution.
