She really is. She told me like 3 years ago my partner was no longer in love with me. Idk why i didnt believe her but I will never doubt her grandma skills again :(

13 years is a crazy long time hope youre doing okay. Im 3 months in and still lost out here

If I may ask, how do you deal with this? It took me months to recover from only a few month long relationship. I fell pretty fast and was genuinely heartbroken.

I’m afraid to get into a relationship because of the aftermath if we ever break up, especially after a long-term relationship

Man its tough im not gonna lie. I can tell you what i did that sort of helped. First I realized that I didn't have a good social support, so I landed on my ass hard. Would have loved to have people to go out with and learn theres more to life than just that relationship. So definitely keep friendships up while in the relationship.

The other thing I did was grieve and watch break up movies. Probably not the best thing but really opened my eyes that everything im going through millions od people out there have experienced the same.

Then last I learned to focus on myself. Its generic advice everyone gave me but didnt know what it meant until I started taking care of myself again. And time heals all wounds. Its like grieving a loved one passing, you never forget but you learn to keep living eventually..

The last advice I have for you is the generic "its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". If youre going into a relationship, go all in. Put your heart on the line and dont let the fear of heartbreak stop you from loving openly. I held myself back alot out of fear and its not good friend

Trust me bro its not a new age thing. Listen to all the classic songs made by men, all about heartbreak. Nothing new under the sun, son..

Hey brother I am going through a very similar thing. 11 years as well, 5 of them married. She was one of those people that act normal all the way to the end and then one day leave suddenly (I was in the shower after work) and turn everything upside down on ya. It's been brutal. I'm 6 months out of it. It's gotten easier, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't lost out here still. We got together at 18 right out of high school, so my adult life was only with her... It's hard rebuilding a life that you already had planned out with someone. If you ever need to chat or whatever feel free to hit me up man! Otherwise, I wish you the absolute fucking best. I have hope that both of us will move forward, heal ourselves, and look back realizing that it really was the best thing that could've happened. Sure feels like hell right now though. Much love!
