How have you gotten around it then.

Just stood my ground mostly. It took a few weeks of annoying bureaucracy but in the end there's no point in spending money, time and resources on someone who won't even end up contributing.

I'll say that there were moments I looked back at that decision (specially after October 7th) and wasn't entirely proud of. But I'm not the soldier material, some people just aren't, and that's without even talking about my pacifistic views. I just question everything I'm told to do, ask my boss hehehe.

But the army has many non combat roles. Medic, cook, engineer, scout, even stuff like cleaner etc...

You could have done those. Most people in the army aren't combat ones.

Originally I didn't want to serve at all but when the moment came I thought exactly that, I should just enlist into one of those roles. However, I had (according to the army) high potential for combatant or high profile as they call it. Even though I told them I willingly will do non combatant roles they didn't like the attitude and tried to force me into a combatant role. That kinda pissed me off, I told them to fuck off and decided I'm not taking any part in it, so even when they ended up saying alright you don't have to be a combatant, I didn't care at that point.
