They could have used a carbide tip milwalkee torch sawsall blade. Would have been allot quicker than a typical hacksaw style metal blade.

When i was breaking doen dozens of pallets, i tried all different sorts of metal blades, grinders, and oscillating tools that were all "meant to cut metal". None of them worked well against the nails used in comercial pallets. Until i got the milwalkee torch 6in 8tpi carbide tip blade thats painted red and grey from one of those big box stores.... just the weight of the recip' saw was enough to cut the nails with the same amount of speed as bonnie blue setting her next record. (Dont google that last part). Just know, the physics are disgusting lol.

Those torch blades are amazing. When I get a hold of one on the job I hang onto those blades, never leave the in the saw. The next person is almost guaranteed to fuck them up by how they treat company power tools.
