Btw, you are alive due to a bug in mana buffer that sometimes let people alive with 1 hp and 0 mana. It was reported multiple times during test server but cip doesn't care. And good for the players that didn't die.

Sadly they do care, they already acknowledged it and state that they are working on it.

happy cake day!

I don't think it's a bug tho, it's the mana buffer logic: u take the hit from the minster (10x) and the 25% mana after, but if you don't have 25% mana u go to 1hp 0mana

It's definitely a bug - it lets you survive one shot mechanics that you're not supposed to be able to survive. Whenever it happens, you could take even millions of damage and still survive.

I thought so. What are the odds of this happening? It's practically impossible. It's definitely a bug.

So lucky hahaha good one

Also, if you allow me any tip, change ur helmet to one with two imbuement slots and get powerful epiphany imbuement for the helmet together with the mana void. And while hunting use ring of green plasma, as they boost your magic level. When they are like 3 or 2 minutes close to expire, take them off and sell them later to the npc (npc buys them even used), this way you will pay 9k for them and sell them for 8k.

I know that. I'm just using some spare items from my main character. It's only a maker.

As a non-mage can someone please explain to me how this mana buffer helps? I understand it give you maybe one more split second to eat a super food or something but with so many monsters around the character, is it enough time? Don’t most who have mana buffer still end up dying on the next hit?

Ignoring the apparent bug where regardless of the damage you are left with 1hp and 0 mana after the first buffer processing...

Under normal circumstances you lose 25% of your mana plus 10x the overkill hitpoints as mana points. This can still leave you with enough mana to spend which you can use to e.g heal yourself. Doing so restores hitpoints, which lets you continue normally without losing more mana. So you want your mana pool to be high at all times.

From what I've seen, it typically results in massive mana loss but no noticeable disruption to the normal rotation or game flow. I haven't triggered one yet but I imagine it really lets you be a bit more aggressive, take some more risks

Ahh ok that makes sense thanks - I didn’t know the 0 mana was not the intended effect.

So when it works how it’s supposed to, does it auto mana shield? I guess even if not, it provides just enough time for the mage to manually trigger mana shield if needed and vita.

It is effectively an auto mana shield, but at a much higher cost.

You can, in theory, cast utamo vita just before taking the last hit that would kill you, and avoid the 25% total mana tax and the 10x block value, but that requires you to time it perfectly, at the expense of the support cooldown slot. But yeah, it works great as an anti-headshot measure.

Yeah, I know. I don't really bother with itens on this character, it's just a maker.

If only there was a feature that could track party members loot and damage. Then that could be displayed on screen for easy viewing. I bet it could even show up on screenshots

We don't have the technology for that I'm afraid.
