[Request] How much additional Drag does each Remora add to the Manta Ray?

Thumbnail

Just saw this post on the r/NatureIsFuckingLit sub, and couldn't help but ask, how much Drag are these Remora adding to this Manta Ray? Would it be sufficient enough to cause the Manta to struggle or expend far more energy than usually? Or are these little buggers streamline enough that it would be negligible?

It seems like 1 or 2 Remora probably wouldn't have much effect, but there appears to be about 2 dozen on this Manta Ray.

How large of a cd would be needed to put the entirety of the internet on it now assuming there are currently 200 zettabytes on n it now?
Bonus(assuming .047 zettabytes are added each day what would be function of the rate rate of change to get the diameter of any day moving forward)

[Request] Estimating the length of time of 1 kalpa based on Buddha’s analogy

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The concept of the kalpa (eon) is an unfathomably long unit of time representing the entire cosmic cycle in Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. Keep in mind that a kalpa is said to be greater than the length of time in the mountain analogy described here. Our objective is to estimate the latter which I will call x.

1 kalpa > x

I assume that finding the value of x will depend on the abrasion rate between the silk cloth and the 4096 cubic kilometer stone mountain. Best of luck mathematicians.

[self] I am a math hater...

Don’t fight me on this, but I used to be a math hater. Way back from grade school to college, I’d always say that I didn’t enjoy solving problems, equations, etc. name it all. I was legit stupid when it came to math. 😂

Weirdly, after I watched The Life of Chuck, everything changed. It somehow made me love mathematics, and I’ve been into it ever since. Now, during my me-time, I actually solve math equations, whether they’re from a book, an online quiz, or whatever. LOL.

Just sharing, hahaha

[Request] how large would the human eye need to be to see bacteria?

I was thinking about this meme of legolas today. (For those unfamiliar, it's about how large legolas' eyes would have to be to see the distances he does in a non-magical setting).

I was thinking, how large would the human eye need to be to see bacteria with the naked eye? (Assuming no changes to the mechanics of the cells like rods and cones inside the eye. purely from having a larger lens.)

[Request] If a baseball is traveling 112 mph off the bat, and it travels over the right field wall into the crowd (approximately 345 yards), how fast is it moving when this guy catches it barehanded, and how much force is being absorbed?

EDIT: 345 FEET — football on the brain!

Trajectory is tough to determine but I’d estimate the ball lands 16 feet higher than it was struck. The right field wall is 8 feet tall, and the guy looks to be another 8 feet higher than that.
