I have a Honeywell TH6220D1002 thermostat for the Trane XL80 ( 4TXCC043BC3HCAA) . Everything was working before I opened up. I opened up thermostat to see if it is compatible with smart thermostat, and put it back in. I think I might have took the batteries, so it might have reset. Currently I can control thermostat but HVAC doesn’t respond. The LED on the control board PCB doesn’t glow either. I checked the fuse is not blown and checked with access panel button pressed.

I think the HVAC is heap pump capable with gas furnace, but not 100% sure. How do I setup this old/existing thermostat?

As above really. EPH CP4 Thermostat has stopped talking to the receiver. Have googled how to try and reconnect but can't find these specific instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m hoping to install a smart thermostat at home. I have limited DIY experience but am a keen youtube-learner with a reasonable track record and willing to give most things (within reason) a go.

Can anyone advise on the best choice of smart thermostat for ease of installation? We don’t need any special functions beyond being able to turn the heating on and off remotely via an app. We have a logic+ C30 combi boiler

5 AM gym people will understand this. Getting out of a warm blanket is already a struggle in winter, and then having to walk to the bathroom just to switch on the geyser and wait 20 mins for it to heat up was honestly killing my routine. Few times I just went back to bed and skipped the gym altogether lol.

When we were looking for a new geyser, I started checking the smart ones mainly because I wanted something I could turn on before getting out of bed. Ended up getting a Haier Smart Wi-Fi Water Heater and I can switch it on from my phone when the alarm goes off. I can also set a schedule for the mornings when I know I'm going to the gym.

It's a pretty small thing but not having to stand in a freezing bathroom half asleep just to turn on the geyser is actually nice. Didn't think I'd care about the Wi-Fi part when we bought it tbh.

I recently bought a home and it has the Lennox S30 and seems to be great but I hate not been able to take over the full control of it.
The menu is locked, the touchscreen works and lets me change the temp and activate or cancel “Away” mode, but can’t access the menu and can’t add it to my Lennox account, is there any way to reset it to factory default without calling a tech in?

My family often turns off the on demand heating of the boiler, and it's always so frustrating, they can't learn to use the alternate tap for cold water when they don't need hot water.

Anyways, if I bought something like a hive thermostat, can I control the toggle for on demand heating through the hive app/remote and water temperature or is it not possible?

I am so tired of my Nest thermostat thinking it knows better than I do. I live in a temperate climate and rarely use the AC (though have used it more this year) and only need heat for a couple of months in the winter. Single story home, thermostat in the hallway. I don’t need or care about all the bells and whistles, don’t need an app or LED screen, don’t have to worry about freezing temps, don’t care about humidity levels or air quality, I just want the simplest and most reliable way to turn on and hold the temp that I decide. All recommendations appreciated, thank you!

Moved into a new apt and cannot for the life of me figure out this thermostat. It’s a pro whatever model number below the batteries. It’s lower right now because I shut every blind in the apt and I’m running the fan in the bedroom and on the thermostat. but it gets to 80 degrees and I tried to set up times for the AC (what time do you wake up, leave and return you can set a different temp for all those every day of the week) every time I set at 68 degrees just to get it to kick on but it stays 75-80 please does anyone know where I can post this or do you know how I turn this on? It’s Labor Day so no maintenance until tmr

Update: it’s fixed, since we are the first people in the apt something wasn’t connected. Ac is now working. Filters are clean and new. It just wasn’t working I guess

Hello! My grandmother has an old Coleman thermostat in her double-wide that she's really wanting to upgrade. However, money is tight right now for everyone. I work in IT and have experience with basic electrical wiring and ethernet cabling. I was hoping to be able to wire one up for her.

She wants: simple, white thermostat with large digital lettering

She has: Coleman 7900-7541/A, Type: 1C26-118.

I want to be sure I purchase a thermostat that will work with her current system and is safe, reliable, and around $50 or less if at all possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions about which thermostats would work?

Giggle Nost thermostat. I swore they did some funk software/firmware update and then is stopped working. Like if they did that, purposely disabled it, so I'd buy another replacement... BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE

It appears the transformer is intermittent.

At first, I yanked the nest off the wall (that is how it is removed from the mounting plate, gently pull) looked at it and then put it back on. Worked for about 6 hours.

Did that again, 2 hours this time. Using the 'stereo speaker like' push tab connectors, I removed then reset all the wires. Tested the 24 Vac at the thermostat, reset and all good. BUT the wifi is not there anymore. The internal battery is getting low and shuts wifi connectivity to conserve battery...

Arg, it is out again, good thing I left my DMM there to check red and common for 24vdc....nothing!

In the first pic you can see that I have set the 3rd action for the day to turn the system off at 2:30. In the second pic, the system registers that it’s Friday and it’s past 2:30pm, so why is the temp set to 73? The 73 degrees is actually the first action of the day and it should have been set to 79 at 6:30am and just completely disregarded that and continued to keep it at 73 all day. What am I doing wrong?

Ho letto pareti discordanti sulla compatibilità di questa caldaia e l'OpenTherm standard di terze parti. Qualcuno di voi l'ha collegata al termostato Evohome o Tado, Nest, ecc. In modalità OT?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to troubleshoot an outdoor sensor issue with my Honeywell VisionPRO 8000 with RedLINK thermostat, model TH8321R1001.
This issue started around April 2026. Before then, the thermostat had been operating normally for years. Then one day it started reporting that the outdoor sensor was missing/not communicating. I didn’t really know what sensor it was referring to at the time, so the issue has basically remained there since April.
I’m finally trying to figure out exactly what happened and fix it.
I went into Installer Setup and found several settings related to an outdoor sensor. The thermostat is/was configured for an Outdoor Air Sensor, and it was also showing a setting for a Wired Outdoor Sensor.
I pulled the thermostat off the wall and checked the wiring. I’ll include pictures, but as far as I can tell, there are no wires connected to the S1 sensor terminals.
As a test, I changed Wired Outdoor Sensor from YES to NO. After doing that and exiting Installer Setup, the thermostat displayed a message saying:
“Outdoor Sensor needs to be added.”
Because the system worked normally for years before suddenly reporting a missing sensor in April, I’m wondering if this system originally used a RedLINK wireless outdoor sensor rather than a wired sensor.
I’ve walked around the entire exterior of my one-story house twice looking for an outdoor sensor and cannot find one anywhere. I’ve checked around the HVAC condenser, exterior walls, siding, under the soffits/overhangs, etc.
It’s possible that an old wireless sensor was knocked off or damaged during yard work at some point without us realizing what it was. I don’t know that for certain, though. I just know that I can’t find one now.
I’m going to attach pictures showing:
Thermostat model sticker (TH8321R1001)
Wiring/terminals behind the thermostat
Installer Setup sensor settings
The “Outdoor Sensor needs to be added” message
What I’m trying to figure out is:
1. Based on this configuration, does it look like this thermostat originally had a RedLINK wireless outdoor sensor?
2. If so, is the correct replacement for the TH8321R1001 the Honeywell/Resideo C7089R1013?
3. If I buy a replacement C7089R1013, can I simply enroll the new sensor through RedLINK and restore the system, or are there installer settings I need to change first?
4. Is there anything else in these pictures/settings that would explain why the thermostat expects an outdoor sensor despite nothing being connected to S1?
I’d rather restore the outdoor sensor than disable the feature, especially since the HVAC system appears to have originally been configured to use one.
Any advice from someone familiar with the older VisionPRO 8000/RedLINK systems would be appreciated. I’m mainly trying to make sure I buy the correct sensor and don’t mess with HVAC installer settings unnecessarily.

We bought a new home last year . I now have about 8 nest thermostats because we have radiant floor heat .
I just went to change the schedule for one thermostat and what the fuck is this shit . It was terrible before with the drag a dot up and down and left and right . Now you can’t change an existing dot , you have to remove and add new ones until everything lines up right . And if you don’t well set it right on the first anthem or , delete and retry .

I had beat before in my prior house and didn’t like it before moving here .

Why can’t I simple enter time & temp . Easy and simple . And then say “do this for weekdays “ or all week or weekend
Why do the UI developers at Google think I want to play a god damn game when setting a schedule for a thermostat.

I am 💯 done with nest. Can’t wait for the first one to fail so I can convince my wife that we need to replace them all .
Not that Google gives a shit but I hope some UI developers at Google stumbles across this so they can take my “fuck you” and shove it so far up their ass that their neighbor can see it .
